LOL, they were poorly indeed. They did, African Violets are tougher than we give them credit. But I have failed to update on them. I will have to do that soon.
I used to grow African violets a long time ago, now you've got me wanting to grow them again. I've never seen a trailing violet. I really like the way they look. Good advice.
I really like the miniatures as well, they can stay in the smaller 3 inch pots so you can have space for many! www.violetbarn.com/miniature-african-violets.html
Hi Pam! This is why I don’t have many indoor plants…they get neglected especially in the spring & summer & trying to keep them watered indoors can get messy.
I usually am not with these but I used to always have them in more visible spots. I think I may have too many and need to pare down so as to avoid this in future.
I was given two trailing violets many years ago. I loved how they bloomed, seemed like, all the time. I thought they were much easier to take care of than the regular ones. I was always giving starts to friends. Sadly, I lost them all after at least 30 years. I liked putting them in African violet pots, that seemed to give them the correct amount of water. I also fertilized them once a week with a fertilizer especially formulated for African violets. Don't beat yourself up over mistreating your flowers, we all get sidetracked sometimes.
Though I get disappointed when I do something foolish, like letting them suffer, I don't get overly down about it. I was already telling myself I needed to reduce the amount of houseplants I have as my home is getting a bit cluttered up with too much stuff. I have a small home and like it easier to maintain. So if they bite the dust, so be it, makes it easier to let go. I do have friends I have gifted starts from many of mine so all is not lost. I can get leaf cuttings from them.
LOL, thank you for the compliment. I started taking MSM for my joints and now my nails and hair grow like weeds, strong and healthy. And I use Viori shampoo and conditioner bars, as I was allergic to other shampoos. It has helped my hair tremendously as well.

Hi Pam, please don’t ever worry doing anything that you feel might be boring haha! We enjoy watching …. Hey it’s part of gardening when you have to clean ~up a poor neglected plant 😂 another thing I have never heard of a trailing African Violet I’m sure they are beautiful. I’m so happy that you’re trying to save them. I was thinking I would give it a try. Thank you for sharing and showing us . Love your content and channel ❤ 🌸🪴🌼🌺🌷 next time I go to the store I’ll be looking for me some African violets🪻❤
Hello again pam.i think you did a great job there.i really hope thru all survive. I didn't know that there is a trailing African violet.and I shall show my mum when I see her again in the week.as I say she had some lovely ones I'm not sure exactly where they went but mum cannot manage to sort her plants now.she forgets.but still does hsve some nice ones on her indoor window sills I water them when we visit her each week if they need water .there is a amorilas peeking out of its bulb.i have am aloe vera which is young but its bigger leave a kay down low is there a way to stop that.i have tied them up a bit with soft ribbon. Looks a bit silly 😊.pam thank you. I hope your bread has turned out beautifully and delicious. Xxlove hugs and blessings xx
I love African Violets - reminds me a a special Aunt! However, I’ve never had a trailing African Violet - so I’ll be looking for one of those. I have some rooting in water presently - maybe I’ll pot them up today! 🌸
I wish you success. After doing this and they all are perking up I wanted to go find more. I am such plant addict! I will put the link to where I find beautiful specialty ones in the description box for everyone.
What about wick watering? I hear it’s the best method to water A.V’s, especially if you’ve got a busy lifestyle. I’m going to give it a go cos I’ve had trouble with a white web bug that can really infest my plant/s & it’s hard to remove them completely without damaging the plant. Then I’ll have to teach my Mum about care while I’m away
Yes, wick watering is great for them and can be very effective. I have some of the AV pots that do that but no longer use them, not sure why. I should dig them out and give them a go again. The white web bug is either spider mites or mealy bugs and they are the very devil to get under control. I wish you success!
I checked my email, I saw gardening newsletter, one subject was about African Violet, why my Plant damaged? The newsletter said: never touch the African Violet leaves, if you do, you will damage the plant, they are very sensitive, you have to use tools to pot them and more. ❤ I was thinking about you.
LOL, I wonder if it was an AI generated article, so much of that going on now. No, touching the leaves is not a big deal, I have done it for years and not damaged them. I do know there has been research on 'petting African Violets' but that is just going too far. Of course, the 'petting' with hands that have lotion on them damaged the leaves the worst but just touching them when repotting or grooming them won't hurt them at all.
So nice of you. My green house is 8 x 12 and it is from Sunshine Greenhouse. It is a kit and I have had mine well over 20 years. sunshinegreenhouse.com/products/mt-rainier-8-x-12-greenhouse-kit
@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse I thought maybe to keep warm I have a small green house and looking for something to keep warm not expensive . One more question I have mini African violets do you change the size of pot or just the soil ? I love African violets I can’t wait to see your how they do I like to order a trailing one again mine die 🪴🪴🪴
You are so correct and many of these have sentimental value as well. Despite my rather rough treatment in getting them repotted, they look great today on my office windowsill.
First time viewer here, and I must say, that I've never felt so sad for plants, than I did watching this. I sure hope that they all pull through.
LOL, they were poorly indeed. They did, African Violets are tougher than we give them credit. But I have failed to update on them. I will have to do that soon.
I’d give them to my mum she’s good at reviving plants.
Always great to have such a resource.

I have 3 African violets that belonged to my grandmother. They are probably 65 yrs old and going strong.
I love hand me down plants that have found memories!
Dear pam.yep not to worry.you can always try again. 😊bless youxx

Forget the plants. How do you get a head of hair like yours? It's beautiful 🎉❤

Thank you. How special the lavender one is from your grandmother.
It is! I will always cherish it. I have several small starts from it too so if I lose one I am not without it.

I like your calm nature while explaining plant bad and goods. How big is your greenhouse and was it a kit? Thanks

17:18 "they say you should do this every 5-6 months" - meaning **repot** every 5 to 6 mo?
Yes, repot every 5-6 months.
I love African Violets. I hoe you can save them.
They are all looking so much better already, I think they enjoyed the spruce up even if I got a bit rough!
Hi, watch Garden answer ,she did video about African violets,
Thank you, yes I have seen some of hers.
Pam what was that flame ?
That is my alcohol stove. I use it for various things in the greenhouse.
