Hi there, just got my maverick a few days ago. Real truck reps told me i could use this rack system to haul extension ladders. What do you think? Our longest ladder is about a 32 footer so about 17' long when unextended and would hang over the roof by quite a bit, but i believe these racks go higher. Do you think these would work for me?
Yes, the rack will work, but I'd recommend either a cab rack for the ladder extension above the cab, or at least a compressible pad to go between the ladder and the front of your cab. Keep in mind, there is only about 3 1/2 feet between the load bars, so if you have a foot hanging off the back, then you have 12 1/2 feet hanging off the front. You want something to relieve the stress from the front. When I haul a full-size canoe, I'll let it rest on a pool noodle above the cab. When I tighten my rachet straps on my front load bar, it compresses the pool noodle, holding it in place and balancing the pressure. Hope that's helpful! 🙂
Thanks for the reply! I am pretty much settled on the elevate rack so I can also have a tonneau cover. It would be nice to have a metal toolbox attached to the racks for extra storage without losing bed space.. I was thinking I could bolt the toolbox to the racks. Would be interested to hear your opinion on that.
@norzoloco1 for me, tool boxes are all about organized storage that's accessible conveniently. I like Swing Cases on most trucks, but the Maverick already has a small bed, so I actually prefer to use a removable divider by the tailgate. Just personal preference. Set it up however it works best for you.
Hi Todd, Looking to get the elevate rack but need to add a third bar on top of the truck using something like a Yakima or Thule system. It looks like you would need to raise the elevate rack a couple inches to align with a roof bar. Do you think this would as simple as drilling a couple new holes in the elevate rack to make a custom elevation setting?
Customizing can be a necessity at times. As with anything, the manufacturer won't guarantee the part you customize, but I don't forsee a problem as long as you get the holes right. BTW, check into roof rack from Rhino Rack too. 😉
The channel is shaped like a "C" and it accepts a bolt that's shaped like an up side down "T", so it's just semantics. I've actually had the RhinoRack Kayak carrier installed on my rack, so I know for a fact that it works. :)
Yes, you could, but be careful as you can't un-drill holes. LOL Also, keep in mind that because the manufacturer did not put the custom holes there, they have no way to put a weight rating on the modified product, and can't warrant modifications. Just to be clear, that's definitely something that I would do for my own truck if I felt the need, and I'd accept responsibility for the results of the mod, but it's not something I'm allowed to recommend. Hope that's helpful!
Hey Todd, do you think it is possible to modify the elevate rack to get it below the cab and then allow it to be above the cab on the highest setting? I'd like to keep it below and out of the wind until I need it to haul the toys 🤙
Yes, it is possible, and fairly easy to do. But, I'm obligated to say that if there were a failure due to the modification, it would not be under warranty. ...and that's on my radar, but details would violate my NDA. 😉
I found it on Amazon I think. It was a 1.5 inch antenna and a 3/4 inch antenna cap. I'm just using the cap. I probably don't get the best reception, but I never use the radio, and the cap looks good to me.
That's the Truxedo ProX15, but it's the first iteration, and now they're slightly different. This one was actually the first production model ever made for a Maverick. It is my favorite soft cover, but now I'm running a Revlover X4S, which is a hard rolling cover.

Hi Tod,…are there side Molle for these Elevate Racks? Thanks!

Thanks.

Is C channel fitment the same as T channel? I'd like to put the Rhino Kayak carrier on this rack, but it says C channel.

can you drill the new holes to adjust the height of the rack?

@@ToddsTruckLife Let us know where the video is when you do it!😀
Does the FX package on the maverick have recovery hooks in the front (I.e something to tie the front of a kayak to?) ?
FX4 comes with front tow hooks on the Maverick. :)
Hi Todd, do you have a link to where you bought the elevate system? Thank you!
You will need the T-Slot rails unless you have a cover with an integrated T-Slot.

@@ToddsTruckLife I'm looking for the cap and can't find it anywhere, it looks so clean. Do you have a link?
