Awesome! The Icarus you have is one of four prototypes I made to get feedback on the design before Jordan Smothers started making them. The production ones are a bit smaller. Check out copper plated ammo. Less expensive than brass, and corrosion resistant. Those targets from Timber 26 are Super Tough. Been beating on one daily for a little over a month now, and it’s just now getting broke in. Keep up the great work.
Just subscribed. I'm curious about that brass 8 mm. Steel 8mm is about two grams, do you happen to know the weight of the brass? I can get steel 8mm moving fast with 2040 tube at half butterfly. My simple shot die cut 22-15/0.7mm is over powered for 8mm. I use 9.5 mm steel or 9//16 marbles for simple shot. I can see a possible advantage in distance with small and heavy.
Hey brother thank you! And I have searched and searched and I can not find the weight of the brass ammo, but I will say that you can really tell they are heavier than steel just by holding one of them. I think the simpleshot .7 might still be to much for the 8mm brass. But if you have the money to spend they are super nice and definitely pack a punch!
@@Mikeypaulslingshots Too bad you don't have a friendly neighborhood drug dealer, those guys always have scales. ROFL 😂. The package you have isn't very big, but if you have a kitchen scale, you might be able to weigh the whole package and then divide the total by the number of pieces. One of my favorite improvised ammos is a brass bullet case stuffed with fired and salvaged air rifle pellets. I use a steel rod, often a fat Allen key and hammer them in nice and tight. They're my version of a man stopper. I've found 9mm cases are about right. Obviously heavy in the hand, but not heavy enough to affect drop at reasonable distances. They tumble in flight, but still fly straight and like lead ammo, they dump all their energy into the target, unlike steel that spends a lot of energy bouncing. I was surprised when I tested them. The lead doesn't fall out on impact and you can shoot them again.
