Today I am trying an art box I found at Disneyworld of all places?! It was $25. This brand new adult art craft box and kit I have never seen there before. It was hiding on a shelf in the Hundred Acre Goods shop at Magic Kingdom. I thought I'd give it a try and see what it was like. I tried BOTH art kits and rated them. Let me know what you think of them and if you'd give them a try? They contained stuff like washi tape, markers, pencils, coloring pages, paper mache, and more. Perfect for artists and creative crafters.

Speaking as a knitter/crocheter/cross-stitcher: the back of a cross-stitch exists to hide away all your yarn sins. If you can't see it, it doesn't exist 🤫
Taking the Disney tax into consideration, the price doesn't seem too bad. But I'd probably spend that $25 on a decent cross-stitch kit that's a bit higher quality
The back of my cross-stitch are much more clean than that…
Grandma always taught us "God sees everything." Which sounds super serious when we are talking about cross stitch 😅 but Grandma didn't play. Our cross stitch had to be the same on front and back (or else very very similar) because God would see our mistakes 😂
😳 good thing I'm not religious , my backs are ....@@cherachapin3826
You could honestly buy a couple cross stitch kits for that price. (I think the last one I got was 10-15$ and it came with a needle, Aida cloth, pattern, and thread and some even come with a hoop 👀👀). Definitely a bad craft kit imo but I've also been cross stitching for a while.
There's much better things for beginners but I can see this as helpful to get into the swing of cross stitch
To cross-stitch neater, you can always do the same line of upwards x (bottom left to top right), then come back on the same line to do to right to bottom left. That way, all stitches lay in the same direction, but yes, at some stage it will look a bit odd on the back; that’s absolutely fine in my book. This kit seemed actually harder to do than normal thread, as it’s thick and twists here… I don’t know if it would look good with anyone trying it.😅
Definitely should have instructions included in the first box. When cross stitching your thread should be a lot shorter and we would normally split the stands of thread.
I’m not a cross stitch person but I totally wondered if she was supposed to split the thread or not. I feel like with that advanced (for a non crafty adult) a project, they should have definitely included directions.
@@hellopeeps2001 I cross stitch too and I couldn’t work out if it was a thick yarn or thread that we would normally split into strands. It’s a shame because Disney are definitely letting the buyers down by not including instructions. I’ve never known a craft kit to not include at least basic instructions.
I will say that I bought a Mondo Llama embroidery kit at Target and it came with great instructions. I would recommend that!
@@pauladavitt7554 that’s what confused me the most! Even craft kits you can get from 5below have directions and not all of them are that great. Idk why Disney couldn’t make directions for a kit that costs almost double the worth of the items included
I wonder if you could also do it more like yarn canvas art since the holes are bigger.
Chloe looking for baby items for Moriah's new baby is just so cute😭😭😭
Aunt Chloe is very caring
100%
Hahah that’s adorable 🥰 100%
Merlin waking up when you knocked on the wood is adorable ❤❤
So cuteee❤
Ahh I know he’s so cute! I had no idea he was there the whole time 😂
He was like "who's here" 😅
Merlin is like Chloe's personal teddy bear he's adorable
The washi tape with the mache Mickey is similar to decoupage. I could see it being super cute as a decoration if sealed with a couple of layers of midge podge.
I thought it was so cute but she didn;t like it at all.
I've done the "washi tape the heck out of object" craft with giant letters for decor (I did my initials). It's fun and kind of low-stakes compared to a lot of crafts I do. Sometimes you want to chill and just play with design.
2:00 I don’t know why but the sudden appearance of a dog is exactly the vibes I expected from this video 😂
3:08 love your pup behind you ❤😂
I love the colors you used for Bambi ! It would make adorable wallpaper for a child’s bedroom! 😍
For disney pricing that craft kit is pretty decently priced. The colouring pages are overpriced, though. You could get a full book for that price.
The colored pencils could probably be bought for $1 at a dollar store honestly. The stickers maybe $2-3, and the pages probably $3-5(tops) so maybe it could be fair for $10 even as Disney. I swear by the dollar tree and mighty dollar bc they have stuff very very similar (namebrand) for $1. Some stuff they have is super cheap but they have great deals on namebrand stuff if you can catch them before they sell out
@@anitasmith7764 you could honestly take about any object from any store inside the parks and find a cheaper equivalent elsewhere. It's just the reality of purchasing souvenirs inside an amusement park.
The craft kit seems like a decent price for something sold at the park, and though i certainly wouldn't have thought of the washi tape craft it makes perfect sense as something that you could do in the evening while staying at a hotel.
I feel like the potential added value beyond Disney theming would have been some more thought into presentation. Having examples/tutorials of what to create or ways to use it / put it up in your home. Not having that devalues it a lot for me. It's cute but even you just finding it in the store, there was nothing on the packaging that would inspire me to get it myself.
I agree it definitely needed examples/tutorials for ideas! I do art and craft for a living and I was confused 😂 let alone someone who isn’t an artist just trying it and being even more confused!
For the cross stitch… do all one direction slashes in one row, then go back over them doing the other direction slash.
A couple of tips from a cross stitcher:
Cut the thread to make it more manageable!
Try doing a whole line of half stitches and then turning around and going back the other way. That's how the back gets to look neat!
"I know everything Disney!"
"Tarzan" *shows jungle book*
😂
I like how the colouring set does not include a sharpener so if you are staying in one of the hotels you have no choice but to wait till the following day and buy one, no doubt the only ones available are in the shape of characters with crazy price tags.. Keep up the great Art and Content 😁👍
nah, they just want you to get creative just like back in the day where they used knife like sharp objects to make wooden spears or statues with wood :D
I generally sharpen pencils with a sharp knife
See, you can tell she's not a Disney Adult because she called something Jungle Book related "Tarzan". A true Disney Adult would never!
Was wondering if anyone else caught it😂😂😂
I died laughing when she said Tarzan. Haha
I saw Mowgli when she said Tarzan and had to double take to make sure I wasn't crazy.
How could she disrespect Tarzan like that!! 😮😂
I have no idea why I said Tarzan!! 😂😂😂 I knew it was Jungle Book how embarrassing 😆
I don't think your cross stitch has to look neat on the back! All that matters is that the front looks cute, and yours does! 😊
I tried cross stitch last year and it was really relaxing, but the back looked so messy. But my little niffler cross stitch looked adorable on the front lol
My grandma said the neat thing too, it might be a generational thing.
Ahhh I bet a niffler cross stitch would be adorable!!
I don’t know what a niffler is, might have to look that up!
But cross stitch being neat on the back is because when you frame it, the lumpy mess can make the finished piece lumpy on the front.
Aww! A niffler is adorable! 🥰
It doesn’t have to, but it’s actually quite easy to do. If you do a whole line of stitches going in one direction, from the bottom left to top right( / / / / / ) then go back over the other direction bottom right to top left ( X X X X X) you get the prefect stitch front and back
For me both sets are for children and a way to expensive - no matter if it’s Disney's or not! 😬😅
I agree. I wouldn't be interested in either of them. Even at a lower price.
@@michaelbergstrom9346 Yes, I could see it maybe being labeled novice or teen. But, comparable spiced adult kits from places like kiwi crate are of much higher quality. I guess the high price is partly cause it is in the park, but...
That Disney washi tape craft looks like a Christmas sweater! I love it!
As someone who cross stitches and designs cross stitch patterns /as a business/, you did GREAT.
The back can be as messy or neat as you want it. It does not have to be perfect. Unless you're entering it in a state faire.
Everyone stitches differently, there are dozens of styles and techniques, and there is no "right" way to do it.
It absolutely does take forever, that is normal.
And yes, yanking your project off the table and learning how hard it is to count to 5 is absolutely part of the process.
Well done! Using shorter lengths of thread will help if you ever do it again. :)
Imagine if Disney had to use their own "quality" supply to make their movies with...
I wouldn’t really be surprised if they did
Best comment ever!❤❤❤
"tarzan" *holds up jungle book coloring page*
The adult colouring kit would be fun for the parent who gets stuck with the stroller while the other stands in line and goes on the rides. They’re not the best, but it beats standing in the sun all day waiting around.
only an american multi billion dollar corporation can come up with something as dreadful as cross-stitch *on cardboard!* especially with half the cardboard showing when the thing is finished. they wanted money for this abomination?
For that kind of money I would at least expect several patterns to be included in the box. Also very strange colours to cross stitch Mickey with.
Yeah Disney....not anything anymore like what I grew up with in the 70s. Passing all together...
It is Christmas themed. As they had them in our Target in Australia as a Christmas craft. So after Christmas, they went on sale to under $10 (i want to say it was more like $5). So you best believe I brought it.
I personally agree with Chloe, that the first adult craft kit gave more of your money’s worth. It is really nice that they have adult kits at Disney! Though, card stock for the coloring pages would have been nice. Still had tons of fun watching this video!! 🥰
That dog rug is amazingly lifelike! 😮😂
It’s a bit overpriced to be honest… cute all the same. They’d sell more if it were more reasonably priced 😊
I like the washi tape craft because I had never heard of it before and think it would be a great craft activity for my daughter’s upcoming birthday party 🎉
I believe that the colouring pages are the printables from the old Disney website. The one with games and such. I think that they were free . Don't remember that well
tarzan.. was jungle book -dies-You used to thick thread.. it's meant to be broken into strands. It's usually a 6 strand Skien and you use 1 or 2 strands on fabric.. on that paper I'd say 3.. but you are trying to push through 6 which is why it's struggling
Makes me want to try the washi tape thing. May visit the dollar tree
Chloe a tip to make your cross stitch neatish on the back is go one direction and then go back to finish the x it looks a bunch neater and you are wasting less thread.
TBH, the washi tape thing doesn't really seem like a craft, but it DOES seem like something I would do if I was stressed out and needed some instant gratification "art" to ease my mind.
It is def overpriced but still cute. Also, the markers might be to outline the picture on the outside of the kit to make it easier to color.
Woo, defo the craft kit, loved the little cross stitch thingies! :)
I LOVE WINNIE THE POOH TOO!! Eeyore is my fav tho
I'm pretty shure that you can put the finished colouring page in the things (I dont know how you could call them) 12:00 and then write on the clear surface with the markers and the colouring in the background kind of🤔 Besides very nice video as always🥰love your artwork
this got recommended to me within 35 seconds of uploading lol, i love ur vids and i love your art !!!!
Yay! Glad to hear 😂 it doesn’t always happen with UA-cam lol thank you!
Did you say "Tarzan" to Mowgli?😂 I would have been very disappointed with these craft kits! They are overpriced AND of bad quality. One of this is alright, kind of, but not both at the same time. You presented their possibilities so very well nevertheless! I had fun watching you get the best out of them😊❤
Not a bad price for Disney...love your videos ❤
OMG!!!!!!I love your art room!!
Also, tip for the cross sttich: pull the extra double over thread closer to the length of the end with the knot, and it won't be so unwieldy to sew lol
Thank you for your videos, you help calm my anxiety and make me smile ❤
Aw I’m so glad to hear that thank you so much 💕
She called the jungle book tarzan these kits dont seem that bad the washy tape craft seems fun i would try it i did cross stich when i was 5 and it wasn't that bad the back is to hide your mistakes the coloring book is something i would love to do it seems so good
I know this is about the craft kid but THE DOG!! What a cutie!
They also recently added a Hercules pot decorating kit. I saw it at Disney Springs and it looked really cute!
I've never seen the papier mache/washi tape craft before and I actually kinda love the idea. Seems like a fun way to use some of the washi tape that I buy cuz it's pretty but just sits in a drawer cuz I don't know what to do with it😅
I love drawing Disney character s the Seven Dwarfs and other characters cool Chloe yay. 🙏💜💜
I love doing detailed colouring
Well, you actually cross stitch in rows. You do a row of half a cross stitches in one direction and when you reach the end of the row you go back to make the cross. Then the back does look neat and you don't waste so much thread :) that's what my mum taught me anyway.
I don't even know which kit I might have bought.... probably the colouring one, but then copied the pictures onto better paper and used my better quality pencils xD
They call it adult so they can charge more!! 😅 The packaging looked pricier than most, but it would survive a trip home from the park. 😉
The craft kit was more appealing as my partner loves that type of thing. The washy tape on the Mickey Mouse head was cool, we've done something similar but use like a tissue paper with glue and call it Découpage
These look like it would be easy and low mess & stress for office breaks at work.
Pup said “no thoughts, just vibes”
The washi tape craft reminds me of a quilt pattern! Might want to seal it with something though. Definitely not a waste of washi tape though!
Love Chole, fun when she showed a Jungle Book coloring page and said "Tarzan".
I’m definitely the craft kit fan!
The Winnie-the-Pooh ride is one of the most memorable from my childhood
Cross stitch is the bane of my existence. To anyone who loves it and/or finds it relaxing, more power to you. I find it incredibly tedious and it stresses me out. I have a relative who used to do those extremely complex cross stitch projects that look almost like a painting when finished with mega-quadzillion shades of embroidery thread. I would lose my mind.
If that's yarn and not embroidery floss, you can thread the needle by using a narrow strip of paper folded in half (short wise, not length wise), sandwich the yard between the paper, and push the paper( folded end first) through the eye.
I would have wanted instructions and maybe examples to follow for the stitching because otherwise I'd spend days drafting my own sub-par design.
The presentation is so cute!
Cross stitch is worked in rows back and forth. You do half the X's first like ///// then cross them back the other way \\\\\. 👍🏼 When the thread gets twisty just let it dangle from your work and it'll untwist.
I think $25 for a Disney kit is pretty decent. But not having any kind of instructions or guidance… that wouldn’t work for me at all. It was a fun video though for sure. 😀
Perhaps the markers are to line the artwork on the cardboard which is faintly lined?
The craft kit was cute but I would prefer the coloring kit because I'm more into drawing and coloring. Thank you for reviewing these kits, Chloe Rose! ❤
i LOVE to have those washi tape....Thank you for the video.
I’m interested in how colourists use the washi tape to elevate their colouring pages by using the washi tape as fabric for dresses, other clothes, textures. That looks cool but never thought to use it like this.
my favourite UA-camr 🎉🎉🎉🎉 watched every one of your videos and always happy when new content arrives 😀😀😀😀
Those tags are exactly christmas themed! You can attach them to presents or gift bags
I like that thy can pack in your suitcase.
Hobbycraft sells decoupage kits which have a papier-mâché item and different sheets of tissue paper and a glue type medium. I’m planning on doing a llama one for my husband’s birthday 😊
I like doing decoupage on things like that Mickey head, but I'm not sure I'd ever want to use exclusively washi tape - it gives less control over shapes and since washi tape is usually more expensive than tissue paper and things like that, it seems a waste of tape
I thought the craft box was realistically priced but the colouring book was off the mark … a fun vid just the same … love the doggo❤
MERLIN IN THE BACK AHHH
Yayy new video.. I love watching your videos!!
I’m excited to watch I love Disney and ur vids perfect mix!
So, I have a niece who is two and a big thing for two year olds is building up the strength in their hands and also, stickers. So, I feel like the washi tape idea could be cool if you also did stickers. I’m thinking about trying to find something Halloween shaped to do this craft when I visit my niece in October!
How cute would the paper mache Mickey head be decoupaged with ripped up park maps!?
You should rail road your thread first ///// then at the end of the row go back \\\\\. makes the back neater and less tangly thread. With the washy tape and paper mache decor, i cover them in mod podge once finished. it stops any "cheap" washy tape coming up at the ends. I wouldn't have paid the $25 but that's because if you convert it to AUD its closer to $40. I would pay $15 at most (approx $25 aud)
Not gonna lie I stared at the dog for a HOT minute to make sure they were still breathing. Such a dead sleeper. xD
They are definitely good for no mess crafts to do in a hotel room.
The see-through envelopes are maybe for mailing and so people can see the artwork as it moves through the postal service?
After watching this I looked on shop Disney and they have a Hercules pottery design set. It looks like you paint on the potter in the kit.
That is crazy! Disney has officialy monopolized everything lol XD
Frrr😂😂
I had the same problem with the colored pencils they kept braking
I was taught when doing cross stitch, you go in the one direction until you've finished that row of that colour (ie: ///////) then go back to create the 'X' that would always keep the back tidy... ❤
So, I only recently got into cross stitch. As someone who, when I Crochet or knit, I fix on the fly etc etc - the back being neat or not doesn't matter.
If the back being neat matters to you, you work in a column or row at a time doing the first part of the cross along and then work your way back along the row/column for the second part of the X
I think 25$ is very decent for a Disney art kit! Art kits (that are not trash) are around 20$ anyways
I think you could use the markers and stickers to decorate the folder, as even though its card it looks sturdy enough to reuse?
It’s one thing to be licensed to Disney, quite another to be purchased *at* the park. I’d say that’s decent pricing compared to a lot of the other stuff they sell!
Woah you made the Barbie’s eyes look so trippy when you colored what’s ‘supposed’ to be the white part of their eyes, black 😯 made it look like a negative of the image
At 12.25, did she say Tarzan to the Jungle book picture with Mowgli and Bagheera? Or was that just me? ^^"
I think I like the first one too. But I do also like their containers lol Thanks for sharing Chloe!
The stickers are maybe an option to put on the Mickey head flowers
Does a hair dryer help to warm the gum on washi tape the way it does painters' tape? You know,, warm it to get it down tight, and again to remove it.
When I priced licensed Disney washi tape, individual rolls were about 3+ so you probably did okay.
It occurred to me, and I typed this before you said the same thing (12:50) that the craft box might be good for vacationing adults staying on the property, as opposed to bringing the craft box home to do. Maybe on a rainy night when they don't want to watch the fireworks.
Always nice to come home to your videos!
So sweet of you to think of getting Moriah’s daughter a gift! Shows that you guys are real friends and not just UA-cam friends, idk if I phrased that right but hope you get what I mean
When you cross stitch make one dash of the x all the way across then at the end start going backwards and make the other dash.
EEYORE is my favorite Winnie the Pooh carector lots of love from New Jersey ❤ ps Micky mouse was my high school mascot lol
