Fun video! I was in this snareline. Tim Jackson taught us this snare break by rote in-person, so it was never really written out. The tempo was 160 bpm, but we often started way faster and settled a bit under. That left-hand 4-stroke is quick! 👏🏼

Hey Chris. Amazing work that year. Did you guys do anything to master the 4's lefts? or was it just rep rep rep? the tempo was crazy fast, great job

@@FreestyleRudiments We probably should’ve played more left-hand 4’s under-tempo with a metronome! 😂 Lots of reps indeed. The tap huertas with the alternating accents are super quick too.

I love how you continue to emphasize the need to practice and put in the time to be able to play something correctly. Keep up the good work! Helped me (Greg Lucas)!!!!!!!!

One of my favorite moments in WGI. I love how they made it almost entirely in duple yet still so difficult. Thanks for the breakdown

Great video man! Have you got any recommendation for a metronome that you can set up for time changes? So that its a constant flow through each change

I dont use one but their is one called polynome by Joe Crabtree that does this very well.

You pointing out the decisions they deliberately made (such as fluctuating the speed to get a specific reaction) to further the audience’s enjoyment of their performance is something that drummers should be more aware of. Being able to play complicated rhythm at fast tempo is nice, but making it musically interesting to those listening is so much more important.
