It just shows how impressive the Saturn version was, pushing the Virtua Fighter 2 engine even further with a clever use of the Saturn's VDP2 to fake 3D backgrounds with different layers of 2D images. All that in a rock solid 60FPS and high resolution, just like Virtua Fighter 2.
The Saturn port was so amazing! To bad bad the Saturn didn’t last longer and get all the support the PlayStation got. It was still a great System either way.

Let's get this out of the way I prefer the Sega Saturn controller do the d-pad and button placement. 1. 0:50 The Playstation 2 Sega Ages version appears to support 480p. Also 60 FPS. 2. The Playstation 2 version also has little models of the characters in player select screen. 3. The shadows on the Saturn version are circles while the PS2 version's shadows look really good as they animate and deform. 4. The background elements in stages have changes. The skyscrapers for example have different ads. Also in the Subway there is a Frontier Martial Arts Wrestling (FMW) sign background. A real life promotion. 5. Also the emblem on Yoko's hat is easier to read on PS2 version. It says US Airforce. 6. The Saturn's anime cutscene was pretty cool. But that PS2 gallery had to shown and heard in all it's glory. Ding! Ding! Ding!
Funny to see how the weapon trails get distorted in ps2 because it can't render distorted sprites as Saturn does, also the whole Saturn engine was rock solid, with vdp planes drawing grounds and ceilings flawlessly, totally unlike other 3D fighters in other platforms which used endless planes... (...coughnottekken3cough...)
Well, the ps2 version is emulating the arcade version of last bronx. If ya really wanna compare saturn with ps1, tekken3 is more than suffice, not just in terms of poly count but also game play. There's a reason why the ps1 became the top selling console and stood time for so long 🤣. Oh, and if ya see the face of the players in this video, the ps2 definitely has a higher poly count, that's why the ps2 camera is even more closer without showing any jaggies on the character's polygons and also in 60 fps runs, but that's understandable isn't it? 🤣
The Saturn port has the blob shadows I mentioned in a previous video. One of the sacrifices the developer had to make, so another area of the graphics had more polish.
Last Bronx may very well be the best Model 2 Arcade to Sega Saturn conversion. AM3 made real clever use of VDP2 and parallax scrolling. This game along with Fighters Megamix prove that Virtua Fighter 3 (and other Model 3 games) would've absolutely been possible on Saturn.

Fun game, amazing effort again by the Saturn. Would love to play the PS2 version. Kinda looks like Saturn runs at a higher resolution (704x480?) but PS2 (512x448?) seems to have a higher rendering resolution and more polygons. I feel her torso polygons seemed to be a bit "bigger" if you get my meaning. Saturn has some polygon drops that always niggled at me and I wonder if it spent more time in development if they could have been fixed. There are also some moments where it stutters delivering 60fps but again the Saturn is such a great effort and the PS2 version seems to stay pretty faithful. I wonder why they didn't just make an arcade perfect version on the PS2 and not the Saturn version. I would assume it was possible. Is it full 3d like the arcade or is it a port of the Saturn?
Versão do saturno é superior, motivo: controles com 3 botões em fileira + abertura de anime. mais alguns detalhes em 3:27 o ps2 n conseguiu rederenizar o numero 109 e o logo do sega saturn no predio.
Do PS2 tem os efeitos 3D no fundo (no Sega Saturn ficou em 2D pra economizar na textura 3D) e tem o anti aliasing ficando mais próximo da placa Model 2.
Nossa... Que motivos mais merda pra dar o veredicto pro Saturn, olha a resolução e os gráficos do Ps2 ,a modelagem dos personagens está muito mais bem feita, Fanboy é uma merda mesmo

Na verdade o hardware do SS era muito mais potente tanto para 2D como para 3D. O que deu uma vantagem ao PS foi mais simplicidade para os devs e o fato de ele ter saído na frente no mercado.

Hier wird die PS2 Version (6te Gen) mit der Saturn Version (5te Konsolengeneration) verglichen. Eine PS1 Portierung hätte noch mehr Abstriche in Grafik erlitten.
Last Bronx was so good. Sega should bring back to Yakuza: Like a Dragon or Judgment series.

Many developers were avoiding the Saturn, because of its complicated architecture. It was never going to get the same level of support as the PS1.
Far more impressive than VF2 especially the last two stages (Parking Lot / Subway) with the VDP2 ceilings.
I like Saturn port more than anything. Same with Sega Rally.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone back in the day rejecting Tekken 3 over such silly complaints.

This is a good arcadeport for the saturn
as appreciated as this video is.....the PC VERSION should have had a spot also, it was marvelous, despite only using software rendering.
I wish Sega would remake this instead of the supposed Virtua Fighter reboot, that will be in direct competition with *Tekken*

There was also Anarchy in the Nippon and Dead or Alive that used this particular mode. Toshinden URA was another high res Saturn fighter.

Can't remember if Die Hard arcade used it. But segas summer and winter oplympic games did as I recall.

se for por uma lista aqui ...tive os 2 consoles e tirando os ports da snk ao saturn , em 3d psx era lavada em tudo.
