Looking forward to the release... I know I'm looking forward to slapping this on my Buell... and I know others who will be interested in a kit for their Sporty
Love your builds i have a 250cc on my go kart 4 stroke and watching your videos made me turbo it on e85 and love it. Could not of done it with out your content
Maybe adding a solid metal 1/8 inch spacer / metal headgasket + the stock head gasket. To lower the compression and allow more boost ?? Channel build and great channel . Keep up the good work brother . Ride safe& free
Have you tried running a ceramic ball and spring manual boost controller? It will hold the wastegate shut 100% until you hit target boost. Generally it gets you into boost several hundred RPM earlier. You were noticing a similar effect when you got into low boost quicker with a tighter wastegate preload.
Be careful at 12. I shattered my front piston rings when I first put my turbo on my 68 Sporty. I'm running 10 to 1 pistons now, with a 7 Lb. waste gate setup. Plenty of power an safe for the motor.... so far. Been on there since 2005 All I can say is there's nothing like a turbo'd Sporty with a carb on there. Insane acceleration!
I had this bike on 12psi for at least 7,500 miles before I tore off this setup and re-did it with a smaller turbo. It was so laggy it didn't hit 12psi until redline anyway. I had the timing backed way off too, but I wasn't even pulling timing with boost back then, just a Dyna on curve #4. I use a 2 bar MAP sensor controlled ignition now that gives a proper 3D ignition curve. Proper control of ignition is absolutely paramount on the Turbo Harley's, as I'm sure you know. Cheers!
Patience helps but location is another factor, a cheap project bike with title, hmmm. I have found 3 since 2020, 1 I bought the other 2 were gone before I could get to them. I keep bumping up my search area but I have to keep it within a days drive to/from. Great content and really appreciate your work, Thank You.
Revision 4 of this setup is going to make use of more plenum volume + a better intake design. Getting close to bringing the kit to market!

The turbo was just way too big, this bike has a GT15 on it now and it's way faster
