Hey mate nice build, try fitting a pressure line above the slide, it will balance out the pressure above and below the slide and it shouldn’t jam up. It is really hard to get them to run properly but when you do. 😁👌🏻
Did it actually produce more power? I'm interested in putting a VZ21 in my 250 cafe racer.. I'd probably go with a draw through setup though. Did you have to pressurize the fuel tank too?
Yeah way more power. Ran surprisingly well with no tuning at all. The only issue is the carb sticks open as it's a cheap ebay slide carb and boost must make it sieze. I installed a fuel pump diaphragm type about 10psi and it works good
@@Kylesbikeprojects sounds mad... Any reason you didn't go with a simpler draw through setup? Only thing I'm unsure of us fuel going into the turbo itself.. Have you out many km on it?
Kyle's Bike Projects it probably stuck because it’s a barrel carb. You have ten psi on the bottom and atmospheric above the slide. You could have equalized by putting boost line on the side the throttle cable comes in. It sounds like the carb stayed open by pressure
If you don't mind me asking, what was the approximate parts budget including the efi system? Also, have you measured it's acceleration or taken it to a Dyno? Thank you.
Total parts around $1800 nz and got the pipes for free and bent them at work. No dyno yet haha as it just runs so good I haven't bothered yet. I've done 3000kms and still goes well
Have you fitted an Efi system yet? it's running rich when the turbo isn't spooling putting a smaller jet may make it dangerously lean when the turbo spools up
We're did you get you're oil feed from and how much oil pressure do you get I've tapped into my oil filter housing on my ag200 but it's only reading 10psi of oil.
@@zhenschreurs8627 I found a random bolt that hold in clutch lever arm. Just had to stop it popping out with a bracket but worked fine. I think it's all about flow really. Like a constant small stream or too much will blow seals in turbo

Hello I want to install vz21 turbo On my motorcycle However, I don't know how much lubricant pressure to supply to the turbine. Can you tell me?thank you
I'm experiencing an oil leak from a VZ21 turbine. Now I know that the oil pressure I give is too high. About 40 ~ 60psi. In the future I will use valves to control oil pressure. thank you very much.
@@胡家揚-m2z no problem👍 you could get a oil restrict or bolt, they use that on turbos for cars. Or just use a separate pump for the oil supply to the turbo, a 12v electric one, and with a little reservoar (maybe 500ml) and a filter, and possibly oil cooler. Just connect a gauge so you can see if the pump fails.
With my carb comment you could likely have made a hole in the slide piston long as it’s just a cable actuated and not a cv. Then the boost pressure would be on top of the throttle slide too and it won’t stick open? But you da lost pressure to throttle cable lol.
Here are the engineers ;) turbo increases the compression ratio wich may destroy your engine and then your turbo will only be useful as a forced inducter for you if you have a corona ;) Thank for your vedio
@@Kylesbikeprojects the other way to do this is to use a continuous velocity carb. Supply's smooth throttle response while being speedy at the same time.

Stretch the return spring on the carburator slide. The pressure keeps it up giving you the impression that the throttle sticks. Nice work!

It seems the throttle response is not that smooth. Is that a turbo lag? Or just the carb jetting problem?
Carb problem. Efi is much better

Just curious, are any carb mods necessary besides pressurizing the float bowl with boost?
I never tuned carb but you should tune the carb so it runs good with non turbo
Just tune it so it's a little rich at idle it will Ballance back out as the boost pressure comes on.
You didn’t have to change the jetting or anything?
did you do anything to the internals?
does not reach 12 psi?
How did you fit the bov where does the line go to
Does it work? I can't tell...
You should probably get it out of town so you can do proper testing...

Depends on engine
The Chinese vz21 turbo does not like pressures more then 20 psi, and preferably not lower then 7-8psi at low speeds.

Could anyone tell me about how this carb pressurising works, and where the hoses go??
it equalizes the air pressure on inside of carb so that the fuel can still come out of jet. otherwise air would push the fuel out and it wont run
