- Riding a Motorcycle to Mt. Rushmore is a top 'to do' item if you are visiting the Black Hills of South Dakota for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. This video follows the route from Rapid City, SD to Keystone, SD and Mt. Rushmore via: Highway 16 - Neck Yoke Road - S. Rockerville Road - Highway 40 - Highway 244. The most popular route from Rapid City to Mt. Rushmore is Highway 16. However, we prefer the road less traveled. If you are visiting for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, this is a great alternative to US Highway 16.

Great Video !!! I haven't been on that part of Neck Yoke rd yet. I only live 20 minutes from Iron Mt Rd in Hermosa.
Thanks! From Hermosa you could come up Hwy 79 and cut across lower spring creek rd to Neck Yoke rd.
I was up that way with my daughter last Easter weekend visiting another daughter and my grandchildren. They live next to the Blackhills in Newcastle Wyoming. Of course the weather was mixed from rain, snow, and sun, but it was still awesome to have visited many places up there. I'll have to go back up there on a bike sometime. BTW, nice Victory! It was nice to see some familiar places up there. Thanks for the ride!
Haha yeah there's a saying here in South Dakota; if you don't like the weather, wait a day and it'll change! Glad you enjoyed your time visiting!
So clear skies, vry green ground and trees. This one of the best video of the back roads to Mt. Rushmore. I trully am impressed. good job..
Thank you! It's actually the first video we made!
I love videos like this especially when they go through towns. I'm always freezing the video to have a better look at what's going on, reading signs and store fronts. I learn new things. Like in this video you passed a sign that said largest collection of Borglum art in the world. I didn't know what Borglum art was, then I learned it was actually the name of the guy who craved Mt. Rushmore. Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing. We went to Mt Rushmore about 2 years ago. It was our 2nd visit, the first being back in 1979. It sure changed dramatically in that time. So much nicer today.
Hi Greg, we are glad you liked it. If you'd like another video full of facts about the area check out this video!

Great job! What time of the year did you shoot the video? Obviously, not during the rally.
This was filmed in July
Would like to watch it but that speeded up video makes me dizzy. I'm sure it was some pretty scenery.
