@@aqiladhamabdullah1876 The beam swords are from X, not Double X. X's saber is stored at the end of the sat cannon, and Helios has two of X's sat cannons, so two beam swords. Double X's beam swords are shaped a bit differently and are stored on the side skirting.
So, to get an idea of which gundams are used for which parts of the gunpla: - Unicorn gundam • shoulders - Destiny gundam • head, hands, beam shield, and beam rifle - Freedom gundam • wings of freedom - Gundam double-X • arms and legs - Gundam X • torso, satellite cannons, and beam sabers I get where you thought F-91 came in, but those parts on the arms and legs are from the gundam double-X. Even the triangles on the knees are on double-X.
Hate to be that guy but the chest is from the original gundam x, the double x has to panels for the satellite cannon system, while the x only has the one. This is the same for the Areus aswell even though it’s also based on the double x

I noticed a little mistake on the riview. A fun one if you catch it. The feet radiator fins are not from F91. Its from Double X. F91 has fins like that in the shoulders but the Double X has that exact part for the Microwave system.
Gundam Helios is the first Gunpla I've ever built. I really enjoyed it and it was fairly easy to put together. As much as I like the wings, though, I prefer to leave them detached due to how back-heavy they make the Gundam. Also, the waist joint doesn't hold together perfectly, but as long as you don't touch him once you pose him it won't fall apart randomly.
1:39 - F91's fold out panels in the arms and legs. Though it's basically the Double X's gimmick. But lore-wise the Helios is based on the Areus (that has the F91 shoulders on it) but it's sister unit Gundam Valkyrie has the torso and legs of F91
It hurt me right in the soul that you barely (if at all) mentioned Gundam X and Double X, despite Gundam X being the bulk of the body (probably just resized on new runners because Gundam X, like the Wing kits, are smaller than the Seed/Destiny kits and can't just reuse older parts and still look properly scaled with the Destiny parts) and thus generally being responsible for the body's look, most notably the chest design and the sat cannons, and Double X being the source for the cool radiators on the arms and legs. Even if just the sat cannons are the most famous design aspects from X, I wish you could have at least mentioned those alongside the Destiny and Freedom when listing how this had design aspects from some of the coolest gundam designs. Being an X fan is suffering.
I am currently building my Helios as I speak and holy damn, I love the build process so much. Heck, this leaves it open to converting the Helios to it's previous incarnents: The Artemis and the Areus, of course with a bit of modifications and paint. Maybe Bandai will give us the Artemis and Areus as High Grades...buuuut I highly doubt it.

Fun fact: The Twin Cannons on the back were never fired in the Game. They're just Scabbards for the Beam Swords. Edit: New Update allows you to Alter the Gunpla and it changes the skill to be able to fire the Cannons, which only came in that Update, something that wasn't available when I first made this comment.
@@VolticWind Yes, Alteration have existed long before. But there was no Alteration for Battlelogue Event [P] Helios until few weeks after [P] Helios was released. Before then, there was no EX Skill that that has the Satellite Cannons firing.
After about a week of this kit giving me trouble I finally finished it. It is absolutely a hand grenade of a model kit, the hips and waist both pop off if I so much as look as it funny. And my copy couldn't wear the backpack without it popping off at the waist. I wound up having to apply 2 layers of super glue on the chest and waist sockets and now the boi doesn't want to explode anymore.

I have a question about the Gundam Helios' loose waist. How loose is it? Is it so loose that you need something like a joint guard or a blu-tack to hold them together? Or it doesn't need to? My Gundam Helios just arrived, and I'm so excited to build it.

This was my very first Gunpla build ever. I finished it up yesterday. I'm glad to know my waist joint wasn't just a lemon. Any tips on fixing it to be sturdier?
I guess we need to add this video to his list of screw ups. The design elements didn't come from F91, it came from the Gundam Double X. The radiators on the feet and arms, the beast launchers in the torso, and of course, the twin satellite cannons on the back. They were even used in Battlelogue video. Was the Gundam X series really that overlooked for that to slip past him?i
There actually is a very subtle dropping mechanism in the hips, I wasn't sure if there even was one then I disassembled the crotch and turned the part with the hip pegs the other way around and sure enough it was able to drop down
I would recommend some silver paint on the back sides of the clear green pieces in the shoulders and chest, they'd make those pop that extra bit more. Also, there is a slight shift down at the hips to give more of a kick forward, but... It really isn't much besides maybe a centimeter of height if I'm being honest. It's extremely tight, but it does move down, it's just not very worth it whatsoever.

@@GojiraFan-in9oo barbatarus is definitely my least favorite, as a total package, I think it could be awesome on a shelf… with a lot of work. So it’s definitely the least desirable outside or uniqueness. I pair blazing and helios in the mid tier, my Helio needed a lot of work at the waist, and it might be my bias, but they took the some of the aspects that made design great and scrapped them. It does look amazing though and can be made great with work, personally silver for me. The best thing about it is the spare runners for customs. Blazing feels dated but looks awesome and id solid. Probably silver imo. Command Qant, Perfect Strike Freedom are recolors of extremely good kits, and I will say they both improve on the original kit without any cut corners or frame redesigns like helios. Command I think gains an improved silhouette and the bulk is just awesome. PSF, in my opinion is the best package, the BP is awesome, the weapons are sweet and the unit is the best build in terms of being solid, it can hold that massive BP on its own. And that BP is MASSIVE. Livelance is difficult to “place” its the newest base… but the Wing line isn’t a spectacular line, and a bit lesser than Seed HG imo. But it’s a fantastic kit and sturdy!
I'm confident that when build fighters has a show most gunpla have a base of any iteration of the strike, astray, exia then modified with a plus 1 on any other kit.

I really like the combination of the different gundam parts. However, because of how in your face the upside down wings are, my first impression is that the designer was too lazy to design something a bit more original and just decided to flip the wings and call it a day.
I'm sorry but screw the charm. The Freedom wings being inverted is triggering for me personally, as a fan of the Freedom Gundam. If I were to get this model I would certainly keep the wings flipped right side up. Thank god you can do that and thanks for showing us that!

Yeah aside from the wings and what looks like the Balleena Beam cannons it's like someone combined all the best parts if several different Gundams into this thing.
You know, the waists on the build series has been super frustrating. They have three different waist designs across the brand that they know work phenomenal ( rx-78 revive, destiny, Moon Gundam) why they haven't figured out a way to make any of those universal confuses me to no end. Still a cool looking kit though. Wing orientation definitely YMMV .
Not to correct you Mecha, but, like a lot of others have said, the forearm and leg reflectors are from the Gundam XX. I built it as a non-grade 1/100 scale kit back in the 90's. Fun fact: I actually got the kits at a video game store. Babbages I think it was.
i cut out a small 2-ply tissue paper and wrapped it around the loose torso ball joint then snapped the body in. body is now very sturdy and stable. can't see the tissue because it is hidden inside.
I was on the fence about picking this kit up, but this review has convinced me to grab it if the opportunity presents itself. I'll probably leave the wings in the Freedom-style orientation, though.

Okay...so i want to express my opinion on this as a potential buyer that is now starting to get a bit deep into collecting. I ABSOLUTELY WANT TO KNOW IF A KIT IS FALLING APART. To me that is a very important grade to consider. RG kits are the worst thing to me because of how much they fall apart and i am starting to avoid them...so my vote is to please take it into consideration and grade based on that as well. or at least explain how much it falls apart.

Torso isn't Double X, just Gundam X. Sat cannons too, they're two of the original GX's cannons rather than Double X's double sat cannons.

I like Helios as good as Double X. I hope it can be added with slitted mouth from F91 for improving cooling system. I wonder what purpose of using psycoframe from Unicorn Gundam is

The unicorn psycho plate is the clear parts in the shoulder, chest, and gundam XX folding segments.

Yeah aside from the wings and what looks like the Balleena Beam cannons it's like someone combined all the best parts if several different Gundams into this thing.
You know, the waists on the build series has been super frustrating. They have three different waist designs across the brand that they know work phenomenal ( rx-78 revive, destiny, Moon Gundam) why they haven't figured out a way to make any of those universal confuses me to no end.
Still a cool looking kit though. Wing orientation definitely YMMV .
Freedom is one of my favorite builds, so really looking forward to this.

Mine is also very loose at the waist, and the fold out clear panels on the arms and legs are from the double x not the f91

Not to correct you Mecha, but, like a lot of others have said, the forearm and leg reflectors are from the Gundam XX. I built it as a non-grade 1/100 scale kit back in the 90's.
Fun fact: I actually got the kits at a video game store. Babbages I think it was.
Try flipping the joint that connects the legs into the waste, it looks like the one on destiny in which has a longer(?) Peg on one side from the other
I a fan of the wings the right way around
i cut out a small 2-ply tissue paper and wrapped it around the loose torso ball joint then snapped the body in. body is now very sturdy and stable. can't see the tissue because it is hidden inside.
Kit’s you’re going to have to get if you want to make the Artemis and Areus Gundams. Destiny, X, XX, and the F91.
I was on the fence about picking this kit up, but this review has convinced me to grab it if the opportunity presents itself. I'll probably leave the wings in the Freedom-style orientation, though.
that is an awesome looking custom gunpla!, a cross between the Destiny Gundam and Double X gundam is something up my alley!

I replaced the ball joint in the waist with another ball from my hajiroboshi and it's now sturdy
the torso, the skirt armor is all gundam x (gx 9900)

Oh no that's not the F91, the bits on it's legs and the arms are from the Gundam Double X, I would know that easily, since it's my favorite Gundam of all time, lol.

Okay...so i want to express my opinion on this as a potential buyer that is now starting to get a bit deep into collecting. I ABSOLUTELY WANT TO KNOW IF A KIT IS FALLING APART.
To me that is a very important grade to consider.
RG kits are the worst thing to me because of how much they fall apart and i am starting to avoid them...so my vote is to please take it into consideration and grade based on that as well. or at least explain how much it falls apart.
It falls apart at the waist and lower arms if you mishandle it a bit. No where near early real grade or MG Exia Dark matter level though
