You have to remember that they write and release this song 35 years after the band formed, and 30 years after they became superstars. And this is one of their best songs. Think about the longevity there, and how prolific they were over multiple generations. And were it not for Maurice's accidental untimely death in a miami hospital, they might have tagged on a fifth decade of hits. Their last album, this is where i came in in 2001, had some real juice and jam to it. And remember they essentially wrote, produced, performed, sang everything it is their stuff.

Great reaction! ❤ I also feel connected to this song. Because it is great! There are so many more great BeeGees songs. Please react to more of these Bee Gees hits: I Cant See Nobody ( Melbourne 74 live) Rings Around the Moon (not the funeral video), Love You Inside Out (funky & amazing) Embrace (released 2001) Fallen Angel (released 1993) Run to Me (1972) Bodyguard ( classic 80s R&B) Morning of My Life ( "Rare footage UK" video is so good - a tv show) I Saw a New Morning ( Midnight Special '73 show video) All their Midnight Special performances are good & nicely recorded.
How can 1 person look so excited, joyful & sad at the same time? Wonderful thank you. Beautiful song, beautiful reaction, beautiful girl. Have a Sub. Keep going please. You get it.
Great song. Great reaction! This came after they were basically banned due to their association with the disco era. They gave so much more to the music industry afterwards!
Some of these clips were from their years as child singers in the late 50's. They started at 6 and 9. First TV performance at 10 and 13 in 1960. The videos show them over 40 years. Being brothers their harmonies were natural and they were self taught singers and songwriters.
A very beautiful gift of a reaction 🎁! I see 👁👁 you have reacted to the Bee Gees before: Lonely Days, Closer Than Close, Too Much Heaven, How Deep Is Your Love, Tomorrow Tomorrow, Fanny (Be Tender With My Love), Nights On Broadway, To Love Somebody, Heartbreaker, New York Mining Disaster, Stayin' Alive, Night Fever, Jive Talkin', Words, I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You, Alexander's Ragtime Band/My Old Man's A Dustman (Ballad Of A Refuse Disposal Officer) Medley, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart and You Should Be Dancing. Alone was released as the lead single from the Bee Gees' in 1997 album: Still Waters. Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb alternate on lead vocals on the track, with both mostly using the group's trademark falsetto. The song was written by the Bee Gees. The song was produced by the Bee Gees and Russ Titelman. The song reached #8 on the Adult Contemporary chart and #28 on the Hot 100. The song was the Bee Gees' 30th and final Top-40 Pop hit in the US. It also reached #1 in Canada (Adult Contemporary) and Poland, as well as charting in the Top 10 in the UK, Scotland, Switzerland, France, Australia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Ireland, New Zealand and Belgium. Two music videos directed by Nick Egan were produced for the song. The first one, not shown in the United States, featured the brothers singing in a spinning room intercut with a female astronaut slowly removing her space suit in zero gravity, a homage to the opening of the 1968 sci-fi cult film: Barbarella. The music video for the US featured the brothers recording the song in a studio, intercut with various clips of the brothers throughout the years, as well as segments of the first music video. Maurice Gibb explained about the track: "That was one of the first ones we wrote for the album. I really remember having a good time writing it. We were sort of set up in the studio here with the three of us just together and I got some bagpipe sounds. We were just screwing around. And BG programmed this groove on the computer. We thought it was cool. We don't actually go in and plan to write a ballad or an R&B song. We just say: 'Let's go that route'. And we'll follow it. And 'Alone' came out of that. I love the line 'I'm on a wheel of fortune with a twist of fate'. Because of the harmony and that chorus, it was like a bit of '50s as well. And I like the idea of being that sort of Beatlesque type of song. I wanted that rambling. That sort of Byrds type, the 12-string thing going, but we just did it with the bagpipes instead and made it all connect. It was a very exciting demo. We weren't too sure about the bagpipes, but Robin actually persisted. He said: 'They're great; you gotta keep the bagpipes'". Critical Reception 🗣: British magazine Music Week rated the song four out of five, adding: "Brits lifetime award-winners should crashland in the top five with their instantly-familiar harmonies and Barry Gibb's sure pop production (cod bagpipes over an ELO-style arrangement this time)". I feel, what u felt, when hearing this song. I look for others that share my feelings. But I rarely come across them. People like the song, but it should hit their souls! Mostly white people. It's like, are they void, of a soul?!
Do me a proper? Listen to Kid Frost, Ain't No Sunshine. It's my Mexican heritage, Rapper. It's a message to the youth in the hood. NOBODY, in 5 yrs, has ever accepted a request from me 😢.
Greatest harmonies ever in music. There will never be another band like them.
Beautiful voices!! They help remind me in this song that just because I live alone, doesn’t mean I am alone!🥹 RIP Robin, Maurice, and Andy!!🙏🏼
Extraordinary Talent there will never be a group like them again. Thank goodness for these gems they have given us

Lyrics 🗒:
I was a midnight rider on a cloud of smoke
I could make a woman hang on every single stroke
I was an iron man, I had a master plan
But I was alone
I could hear you breathing with a sigh of the wind
I remember how your body started trembling
Oh, what a night it's been for the state I'm in
I'm still alone
And all the wonders made for the earth
And all the hearts in all creation
Somehow I always end up alone (always end up alone)
Always end up alone
So I'll play, I'll wait
'Cause you know that love takes time
We came so far
Just the beat of a lonely heart
And it's mine
And I don't wanna be alone
Well, since I got no message on your answer phone
Since you're busy every minute, I just stay at home
I make believe you care, I feel you everywhere
But I'm still alone
I'm on a wheel of fortune with a twist of fate
'Cause I know it isn't heaven, is it love or hate?
Am I the subject of the pain?
Am I the stranger in the rain?
I am alone
And is there glory there to behold?
Maybe it's my imagination
Another story there to be told
So I'll play, I'll wait
And I pray it's not too late
We made it so far
Just the beat of a lonely heart
And it's mine
And I don't wanna be alone
And all the wonders made for the earth
And all the hearts in all creation
Another story there to be told
So I'll play, I'll wait
And I pray it's not too late
We made it so far
Just the beat of a lonely heart
And it's mine
And I don't wanna be alone
Gone but not out of sight
I'm caught in the rain and there's no one home
Face the heat of the night
The one that you love got a heart that's made of stone
Shine and search for the light
And sooner or later you'll be cruising on your ocean
And clean out of site
I'm caught in the rain and there's no one home

If you like the bee gees try there song (man in the middle). You will be in love
👌👌👍
I feel, what u felt, when hearing this song. I look for others that share my feelings. But I rarely come across them. People like the song, but it should hit their souls! Mostly white people. It's like, are they void, of a soul?!
Check out Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham - When Something Is Wrong With My Baby. You will be blown away!
Do me a proper? Listen to Kid Frost, Ain't No Sunshine. It's my Mexican heritage, Rapper. It's a message to the youth in the hood. NOBODY, in 5 yrs, has ever accepted a request from me 😢.
