Gee , I knew ol Hank was a fantastic singer, but i never thought about young hank. Its obvious that he would be able to sing at this age, but i just never thought about it before. Im 14, i can somewhat sing, untill you record it and it sounds like a dying camel that had its tounge and vocal chords ripped out but a sheep thats having an epileptic seizure. And thats with clear audio. Hank recorded this back in 1938 ish when recording audio was sort of new and sounded like wind blowing in a microphone. He was great from day one. Im sure when the doctor held him up to his mom when he was born, the doctor said "congratulations, its a man" then Baby Hank started singing lovesick and they all had a jolly time. Man, if Hank hadn't drank himself to death, he would have impacted country misic today. They all forgot about Hank. They all dont remember his singing and his howls. Oh Hank, you're gone, and mostly forgotten. But there is still us few hundred thousand people that still love you so!
Odd to think this was the same year robert johnson died. Hank was singing and playing the same time he was. AMD robert traveled alot I wonder if they ever crossed paths
That's interesting. I doubt if they ever met, but who knows. Bob Dylan cites his three greatest influences as being Hank Williams, Robert Johnson, and Woody Guthrie. These men pretty much covered it all!
The Hank's first Record
Obsessed with this! Thanks for the upload.
