There was no coup, kiir knew that he was going to loose in 2015 elections so he had to figure out something to silent his opponent.

Even us in the neighboring country we know that this president is incompetent unlike J.Garange could have been a good man. This bastard is siding with Museveni and Kagame who are dictators busy enslaving and selling their countries to the west. One of the most extremist, tribalist, notorious killer is the current Rwandan president who has killed millions in the DR Congo and still slaughtering his own people while lying to the world in promoting his tutsi dynasty and radicalism system. South Sudan for it to develop, and reconciliate you have to kick out the Ugandan troops and Rwandan troupes and try to find solution by yourself not from these criminals who don't want to tire. Ask Angola, Zimbabwe..AU to advise you.

Mr Salva Kiir I am telling honestly that your so called separation from Sudan is failed but now you still have a chance to reunite with Sudan and to be part of the peaceful solution there

Salva Kirr is the symbol of division in South Sudan after he committed a genocide in Juba December 15, 2013. As long as he still in power, South Sudan can't never be united under his leadership.

What! So we are gonna ignore riek machar now who sented troops to try kill salva in order to take the s it by force cause 2 years is too long for him to wait, for election, similar but sane thing happened in front of dr John garang would say the same. My People have common sense.

Salvar kiir is the most most useless leader. That is not to say that Riek Machar is any better, however,Salvar Kiir is in a different league.

Does the hat shield him from the truth around him ?
His last statement was pathetic despite all the faults of the British press and there are many Camerons mistakes get counted and the difference is a mistake by Cameron does not result in ethnic cleansing in the UK and an English Prime minister would never bd tolerated if he allowed such a thing to happen.

What a shame... people loose their lives and this is the best that can be said to explain what happened... Nuer or Dinka, Shilluk or Didinka, Murle or Taposa, we are all South Sudanese.. it's so sad.

i read the book 'After Mandela'. it says african leaders were generally heroes in their liberation movements but suck at running a country. how ridiculous that is that a country is split due to conflicts and now there're still conflicts within the divided part...

I believe Salva Kiir is doing his best to handle the situation at hand. I don't believe he personally is ordering that nuer civilians be killed rather it is individual soldiers doing this at their own free will. Machar however is simply a power hungry animal who will kill anyone for the sake of power and I do believe he is ordering his soldiers to kill civilians. No matter what though I hope they can achieve peace soon. The people of S. Sudan deserve peace and stability. Everyone should still be celebrating winning S. Sudan independence, uniting as one people under one government. Obviously that's easier said than done but it can happen over time but only PEACE TIME!
