Nice to see small company American made products. That worked nicely with the Bullseye. I think you could season that just like a griddle, but get it too hot, and you can burn off the seasoning.
There are several cast iron 22" kettle grill options on Amazon if you want to go that way.

Are you sure that's quarter inch thick? My understanding is that 7 gauge steel is three-sixteenths inch thick. There are quite a few of these griddle type planchas that have been released over the past 2-3 years but I like that this one as it's a convenient combination grate and griddle. Skyflame makes one that is somewhat similar but it uses a 304 stainless steel wire grate for the grate side. It's only $26 on Amazon but the griddle half is only a quarter inch thick steel and not stainless. It did not warp when i cooked a smash burger on it. Grease can be a problem with these flat griddles as the grease will just flow where it wants and can make a mess of your kettle if you're not careful. My favorite griddle is the 24" one made by Titan which sits on TOP of my 22" Weber providing more cooking space and it slopes down into the center where there is a hole with a small grate for grease to fall into and down. And it's 3/8" thick and weighs almost 40 pounds! Unfortunately, it's out of stock and hasn't been in stock for a long time. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for Watching Mark! Appreciate the feedback! 7 gauge is in between 3/16” and 1/4” from what I saw

@@HeavyMetalBarBQue I know they mainly use carbon steel, but I'll bet they can do stainless for additional cash. Happy New Year.

One thing I've been curious about on the new Recteq is the drippings and cleaning. You cover cleaning and maintenance very well. As you continue to conk on this (without drip pans) could you touch on that in a vid or two?

Thanks for Watching! Low and slow will always have a drip pan. Hot and fast should burn off. I am working on a angled drip pan that would take drippings out of the bullseye. More to come…

Thanks Tom for showing the grill grate. I have a 22" weber and have been looking for a Grill Grate for it. That one is very unique! Yes, I ordered it. Next month I will be ordering the Req-tec deluxe. Can't wait to order that one!

I like the half-half design wish there was a stainless option though. Carbon will require more maintenance to fight rust and this this is pretty hefty and I'm guessing somewhat unwieldy to handle?
