Wow didn’t realise what a cool guy he is. Unpretentious and honest. Also he seemed to really want to engage with you and have a real conversation. How refreshing ❤
Not really… he’s very complicit in the toxicity of Hollywood. He’s been able to maintain a “down to earth” persona but would never sacrifice his success if it meant struggling like many of the “consumers” he easily casts aside. I haven’t seen him in the mainstream for a while which is a good sign and this is an old interview but a lot of this celebrity “humbleness” is patting themselves in the back
I can see why you loved this interview. I love his honesty about Hollywood, and that it is embarrassing to be in an industry where people are always bragging about their work. What he said is so true. There are hardworking people everywhere: doctors, nurses, teachers, fire fighters, etc. But only the actors in Hollywood get together every year, multiple times, to give themselves awards just for doing their work. They get together regularly to just brag about themselves. I've never seen him before, but I love what he had to say. His kindness and honesty allowed you to ask really good questions. (Unlike that horrific other interview ...)
Additionally, their work is pretending / acting. It’s for the most part, fake. And the reason someone like Marlon Brando came to have a certain disdain for it, felt it was not the job of an adult. And we the public are made to want to worship this nonsense.
This is the first time I see a thoughtful and sincere interview and not a shallow one. It feels more like a conversation than an interview. You guys clicked. I watched the whole thing without clicking forward and that's rare. It's nice to see there are still people like him left in this business.
By the looks of it he enjoyed being interviewed by you just as much as you enjoyed interviewing him. Good questions and thoughtful responses from Zach.
I like your interviewing style. You are approachable and able to disarm people without sucking up. You ask thoughtful questions and most importantly let people speak and finish their thoughts.
And allowing her subject to say their peace without try to rush ahead to the next obvious talking point that she’s asked umpteen other celebrities. This is how you conduct an interview.
Thank you, @Kjersti, what a refreshing experience. Zach is so underrated. What a contrast of an interview (compared to your recently shared nightmare), with someone who is clearly an introvert, who doesn't necessarily want to be there, talking, but he does it gracefully and politely, and engagingly, because it's part of his JOB. Makes me want to watch all his movies now, I mean... the less "famous" ones.
What I love about Kjersti she manages to make all her interviewee’s comfortable, where they feel comfortable to share their true voice and us as the audience and fans get to see a side of the celebrity that we wouldn’t normally see with another interviewer. Great job!!!!!

You are very good at connecting with people. This interview is wonderful and it’s all due to how you made Zach feel. You gave him a comfortable space to be honest and real with you. It’s clear he enjoyed it as much as you.
I love how you just let him talk whenever he interrupted you and asked thoughtful question, I could see at the end when it seems like he needed to go, that he stayed a bit longer to continue speaking with you because he was enjoying himself. When he said the part about those gossip magazine and enforcing behaviors where photographers are hiding behind a bush to take pictures of kids being wrong, I agreed 100%. I was raised in NYC, we see celebrities all the time and were taught to leave them alone. Its one thing to give a polite smile or nod, but its rather rude to go interrupt them, especially when they are with their kids, they are just like us, the only difference is that their job is very public.
