Kim is originally from the same town I'm originally from. Liverpool in the UK, where she still returns to, to see family on occasion. Something she said on a UK TV Show. And so, about 15 years ago, I was walking by a restaurant there, *The London carriage works, on Hope Street.* I was looking through the windows, which were usually draped in white curtains so you couldn't see in. There was Kim sat at a table with a group of people. She must have noticed me and my surprised expression. As she gave me a wave and blew me a kiss. I was swooning 😍 I put my hand on my heart and waved back. Then I walked on, with tomato 🍅red blushing cheeks.

@@Naturefan354SJP was the boss of the show though, which meant she was writing the cast the checks. As the Star and EP, she had a lot of pressure on her, so I’m sure she wasn’t all that pleasant and there’s probably some really revealing outtakes of the cast dynamic in the vault. When she brought the show back, she included the other 2 as executive producers.
Many years ago I worked as a food waitress here in Las Vegas. I think they call them servers today. lol! Over the years I was actually picked to take their table when a celebrity came in, and I was proud of that. My most favorite was Johnny Carson who surprisingly, seemed very shy, but was so kind and gracious. I won't go into all the names but it is as you said, be careful what you wish for, because you are meeting the real person, not the part they played. Some are not very friendly or nice. Vincent Price, whom most young people may not know who I am talking about, he was another favorite. You might remember his voice in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. His voice sounds exactly like he did in the movies, and the Thriller video, in person. I was so honored to get to meet him! He was the only one I asked for an autograph from, and very sweetly he gave it to me. I still have it along with the $3 tip he gave me for a sandwich. That was a very nice tip back then. Such sweet memories!
I worked for someone who said the same thing about Vincent Price. My boss had worked at a hotel while he was in college, and Mr. Price was a guest. My boss said that he was very kind and polite.
I used to work on film sets and got to work with John Corbett. I too was a huge fan of SATC and was talking to him about it. I mentioned my favourite of the four women was SJP and, while he stayed professional and only said, "Yeah, a lot of people like her", his face told me he was not one of them. This really shattered the illusion I had of her and them as an onscreen couple. I thought the two had such great chemistry. I guess they're all professional actors for a reason. I've heard a few more unflattering stories about SJP over the years. As for Blake and Parker, I'm glad you posted that interview. I think society is quite sick of the awful, entitled celebrities (and their enablers) who carefully craft a false image for adoration from the masses, whom they will never meet, but they can't even muster the energy to treat those who are near them with some common decency. Hollywood is a minefield of narcissists.
@@Notturnoir, that could also have to do with bad writing. There are so many layers to good movies and television and if one thing is off, it can make actors look bad. I tried watching a couple of episodes and the writing and dialogue is pretty substandard compared to the original series. It doesn't capture the essence of any of the characters, seems to have thrown much of their history and past convictions out the window, and everything just feels forced. They're milking a dead cow with that show.
Well, I try not to judge someone until Ive actually met them or witnessed the behavior myself. We saw how Blake Lively acted but I have yet to see proof of Sarah Jessica Parker’s bad behavior. Relationships are complex…especially when its a relationship with the person who determines your paycheck. And I think its unfair to take sides when you weren’t witness to what happened between the two. But we’re human and imperfect and sometimes we can’t help ourselves…especially when it comes to celebrities we are fans of. We tend to be blind to the fact that they can be imperfect too. Two people may not get along but that doesn’t mean that either are bad people.
Kim Catrell is such an amazing actress because from her talking normally in your interview, I can tell all the mannerisms she did to become Samantha! Thanks for sharing these gems, Kjersti.
I've loved her since the mini-series Scruples. ❤ She's really great in what I believe is an indie Canadian film where she plays an aging stripper w/ a fanboy traveling thousands of miles away from home to meet her (2010's Meet Monica Velour).
I've always loved Samuel L Jackson. Years ago I saw him at Notting Hill Carnival on a float while he was promoting Shaft. I was very surprised to look up & see him. He saw me & my sister a little star-struck & gave us the biggest smile & wave bless him.
Meeting SPJ broke my heart, I know what you felt! Only celebrity I have met to do that. I was winning a Pen Gala award, and she was there. I politely asked for a picture with her because I was so excited. She made it very clear she wasn't happy about. It. It wasn't until I went on stage to receive my reward and give my speech, I actually saw the light bulb go off over her head, but she didn't try to anything to change what happened.
How someone treats the least among us is a good glimpse into their character. I hope it gave her a means to reflect on how to treat every person with dignity.
Try to imagine not ever being able to leave your home without someone (a stranger) saying something to you, or wanting a picture? It must be exhausting as an unintended, uninvited, often unexpected price of fame from a wildly successful television series. These actors are human. We all have good days, bad days, cramps, constipation, headaches, and problems that consume us, etc... etc... I can completely see how it's possible to not have every interaction with every fan be a positive one. Just like the rest of us, not everyone who has ever met us has a good r ecollection of us. We're all human.
I love love your honesty, and how you haven't let yourself be bullied into obscurity. There's something just so chill about your personality, it's like you're my friend in my head.
OMG…you were more then professional…..I have never seen Blake Lively like that…and I will never see her in the same way…nor Ryan Reynolds…who I love to the moon and back….being a fellow Canadian….because if you are married to someone so deployable….cant do….she was an abosolute…BITCH….
I'm so glad you've been spilling all this tea - its time celebrities stop getting away with being mean just because they're famous, its not okay and they need to be checked.
That’s how I felt as a child and a teenager with deformities living in the south. Now I live in California and being different isn’t something to be weirded out by, people don’t stare as much children are less likely to gawk and more likely to ask questions (which not everyone likes, I prefer it to being stared at like a zoo animal)
@@Momofukudoodoowindu honestly it’s annoying but understandable, I don’t think the people who stare MEAN to make me feel bad, but maybe try and catch yourself and change your actions mid way. Like I often find myself talking to people who are mentally disabled or intellectually impaired with a baby voice even though I hate when people do that to me, I didn’t notice it for yrs, and now when I hear myself I try and change that and stop myself. Staring reinforces that we are different and weird and abnormal even if it’s not meant to hurt our feelings it does. I can’t say I’m perfect but I would hope you would work on changing this if you know that you do it. Btw I personally don’t mind questions but some do I had a neighbor without survived polio and one leg was massively skinnier than the other, when I asked she got this look on her face, she answered but I could tell she didn’t like me asking, she was overall very nice though, so if you ask questions you’re taking a risk. 🤷🏻♀️
Kim Catrall is fabulous! I met her when I worked for the agency that represented her- Jeff Witjas was her agent ( cool guy ). She was so down to earth and sweet. I’ve met many celebrities as I used to work in production. Some were surprisingly disappointing. You are fantastic at interviewing celebrities. You appear authentic, and you let them speak. I went to school for journalism but dropped out after two years and moved to LA to start working as I was anxious. I wish I would have completed my studies. But now I work in an entire different industry that I love. ❤
Sex and the City did more damage to the female gender than all Disney movies combined. As for Sarah Jessica, she is a lot closer to her SATC character than people know--a real azzhole, by most accounts. As for Kim Cattrall, she is a doll, a bombshell, an amazing actress and such a down to Earth, genuine person. I am thrilled that she called out Sarah publicly for her blatant hypocrisy.
I found you because of mean girls, Blake & Parker-and now you’re someone I look forward to hearing from! Thank you for bringing some soul into an otherwise soulless industry -and thank you for not talking AT us. It’s a noisy world. I could see by your interview with Kristen Stewart (whom I didn’t like prior to seeing your exchange) the depth of conversation that can be had even on a press junket-and now I like her a lot more for it. So glad to have found you here! ❤
Sadly Sarah Jessica Parker at the time had a bit of reputation for upsetting people. When she was in Ed Wood, the real Dolores Fuller whom she played in the film said SJP never bothered to contact her for researching the role and only met her at a promotional event where she said she played the worst actress ever on film, which deeply upset her.
@@gnostic268she has no emotional range. She is always the same. I do not understand her and Carrie feels also such a fake character, no debt, very shallow. I never liked her or the actress. I liked SATC for the others more.
@Curiamacabre She is a reporter by trade. As such, she is reporting on her experiences, as she has every right to do. She is not dragging anyone through the mud or denigrating them as a person. She is certainly not a gossip. The scandalous nature of the news she reports does not, on its own, make her a gossip. Now, if she were to devolve into inflammatory rhetoric and personal attacks, your baseless coment would have some standing.
@@Curiamacabreshe is literally a journalist. And they r storytellers. It's what they do?! 😅😂Nobelprizewinner Garcia was also a journalist. We read their work and listen to their stories. What's not to love. Actors can also be interesting ofc but their job is mainly making a role their own and telling that story on film. It's quite similar only the journalist is doing it on their own no help from a whole team as opposed to actors ;)
Samantha was always my favorite and Carrie my least! I believed what Kim said about how she was treated. I remember her from back in the day and she was in the Police Academy movie as a recruit in training! She was good too 😄
I am so happy you uploaded the BlakeLively interview because I’m aware of your channel. I find you and your content to be completely delightful. I am usually very active, bedridden for a year until final surgery and find enjoyable content very important right now. I am entertained by stories about celebrities from a source that I respect and trust. This is you!
You're a great interviewer, and how you handled that interview with Blake was amazing. They were so rude. You deserve better. Samuel was gracious with you.
Thank you for saying "Stay professional and be the better person". This is excellent advice not just for journalists, but really, any profession. Individual contributor or manager or freelance, etc. Always be the better person and you'll never regret your own actions. You can always control future interactions with the people who didn't behave well.
You are a sweetheart and you dont deserve the ugly way that Blake was with you. You know, I was a huge fan of Blake until I watch your video. I'm so impressed by you. To hear truth spoken, without malicious intentions or additional drama, it's so refreshing!! You are so good at your job and you are being so straightforward and honest. I love it!!
Im glad I found your channel. Ive always loved Kim Cattrall from Police Academy and Big Trouble in Little China. Heck, even Columbo from the 70s. Always beautiful. Great interview clips. Subscribed ❤
I just want to take a moment to commend you on this channel. You've created such a special energy on this platform. I love that you're highlighting celebrities who were kind and respectful, and most importantly I think it's such a powerful message especially to young girls that you can be kind and professional but also hold people accountable for bad behaviour. Kindness does not mean becoming a doormat and I think the professional way in which you highlighted your experience with Blake Lively will serve as an important lesson for young girls to not accept poor behaviour from others. Thank you for your videos and that special twinkle in your eyes that's uniquely yours! 😊❤️
I’ve very briefly encountered Sarah Jessica Parker at the New York City ballet whose board she serves on. She greeted me with eye contact and a beautiful warm smile during the intermission of the ballet when she wasn’t working or needing to acknowledge anyone. She was just being a friendly nice person. So she must’ve just had a bad day when you met her. Actresses can often turn it on even if they’re undergoing a lot of stress, still, they’re only human and she may have been very tired that day juggling things we know nothing about.
The most surprising thing to me about Kim, was when I heard her talk out of character the first time, during an interview. Her voice is so soft, nothing like Samantha. I would think it would be a hard part to play. It's a real disappointment that SJP is not nice and I'm glad to hear that John is such a nice man!
I love hearing your stories about the wonderful celebrity interviews. I'm sure celebrities also appreciate you saying how amazing they were as you mostly only hear the bad stuff. And, as for NYC...I didn't get on the subway for 3 months after arriving there for grad school. Grad school was intimidating enough, not to mention the subway system.
LOL the hat statement! Yesterday, I went shopping and was reflecting on how grateful I am to not be famous or known. I love my privacy, I love roaming about freely, love looking dishevelled or wearing frumpy clothing if I want to with no scrutinizing. LOVE LOVE LOVE it and wouldn't trade it!
Me three! For me that would be a miserable life. I enjoy being incognito. You probably have to be a narcissistic type attention whore to get off on the constant attention. And there are plenty of those.😄
I think that Blake and Parker dug their own graves with THAT infamous interview! SJP and actors like that are just too full of themselves. They forget who made them famous. Good for Samuel L Jackson, Kim Cattral, and Emilia Clarke for being nice people. And you, Kjersti, are a kind interviewer/person with integrity. ❤
I love Kjersti style of storytelling … people think interviewing is an easy job, it’s not, and it takes talent and a great personality to shine and to connect with your subjects. KF got it all 😊❤
Happy to see you back on your channel posting. All of us who followed you before liked watching your interviews because you seem to genuinely enjoy your time with the casts and they seemed equally enamored with you.
Great to see you having positive interactions with the celebs who don’t take themselves seriously, and use their ‘stupid hat’ to make others look small. You’ve always asked really introspective questions that reveal a new side to celebs I’ve never seen before… keep up the great work, Kjersti!
No problem! As my mum always says, being nice doesn’t cost anything, but being rude and two-faced can cost your entire reputation… some celebrities still have yet to learn this lesson! Keep your head high and these insightful celeb interviews coming, Kjersti.

I’d love to hear you ask Irish actor Paul Mescal for his take on fame, while he’s on the verge of mega stardom as the lead of $310M Gladiator 2 (out in November). Paul grew up in a normal family in a regular Irish town, wasn’t a child star or kid of famous, privileged parents. He was a sports guy and discovered acting just before finishing high school. And his rise has happened *so* fast. From a drama school graduate of the Lir Academy making sausage ads (!), to being an Oscar & two-time BAFTA nominee, Laurence Oliver Award winner (for his West End performances), an unlikely heartthrob, a men’s fashion icon & Gucci ambassador, and Hollywood casting director favourite. He’s a “serious” actor who reminds me a lot of Anthony Hopkins. Paul started out in musical theatre as The Phantom - he has a fantastic singing voice, and he’s said he’d love to do a biopic of a singer or musician. PS. Off topic, but I must mention how gorgeous & shiny your hair is! I love the deep honey blonde colour & the wavy curls 👌🏼 Any hair care secrets you can share for soft & luscious hair?!
"You foolish girl." LOL I love Kim for being honest because I also had a NYC fantasy thanks to the show but I never managed to make it a reality. When I finally visited about 10 years ago I was so happy about that! Great place to visit, loved the people, but I definitely prefer LA's scene... not the people but you can't have it all! 😂
I love your channel. I used to work in film publicity in the UK and although you meet some truly nice people, there is a level of toxicity that is constantly bubbling under the surface. Everyone is so tense and its not really a great environment a lot of the time. Your page is refreshing.
Immediately thought JEALOUSY!!! Blake was big as a house, her hair was all funky and her face was red and bloated. I do think Parker was on medication and have since heard she is unwell.
Come to think of it, you and Blake are similar types. I didn’t focus on that at first because you are so different as people, in mannerisms, voice, etc. I wonder if that had something to do with her reaction to you.
I’m so delighted to have discovered you because of Blake L.‼️‼️ Your voice is melodic, your stories are entertaining, you are beautiful and an amazing journalist ‼️🙏🏻💜💯🇨🇦🥂
I appreciate you bringing awareness to this issue of how these celebrities treat people behind the scenes. We see how they are on talk shows which doesn’t show them being real for the most part. Then we see them with fans which they’re gonna be nice with a few exceptions because it’s expected. But they don’t have to be nice to you guys or at least I’m sure that’s how they see it. So I’m sure that’s most likely when their true colors are shown and good for you for showing it! Especially given that, as you have explained, tapes get taken away!
Love seeing behind the scenes, your refreshing candor, calm demeanor, AND ability to laugh at yourself. And you handled the Blake interview brilliantly and maturely, unlike your interviewees 😞. If it was me, I don't think I would have been able to stop myself from being rude right back to her. And I love these videos of past interviews that you've done and which ones you liked, versus which ones you were disappointed with. Lastly, I used to be a huge fan of SATC but I haven't even watched Just Like That, because it is not the same without Kim Cattrall. She's the best! I always found SJP really annoying on the show to be honest, Lol.
I'm sad that Flaas celebrity culture video only has like 9 thousand views. That video was soo good the way that Flaa was looking so fierce *insert finger snaps* and the production value was soo top tier! 💯🔥 I thought the way that she was able utilize all of her interviews to guide the movie topic was brilliant! 👏🏼👏🏼 I love that this video came out today because earlier I was literally thinking about Kim Catrall because I loved her in obvi SATC but also in the show Glamorous and I was thinking of rewatching that show again soon.
I'm glad Kim cattrall giving inviting warm interview it just confirms what she was saying about Sarah Jessica Parker being a mean girl.
SJP needs a Snickers.
During my acting days, I had the pleasure to work with Samuel. He’s a total delight!
It shows you have thick skin and youre still here youre an inspiration to us all

Samuel L Jackson is the coolest man on this planet. I am a huge fan, he is super talented, funny ..love him.
Yes, king of cool. Hands down
Meeting SPJ broke my heart, I know what you felt!
She had a light bulb over her head? I’m sorry I’m trying to understand this but I’m not familiar with the Pen Gala. Is it for authors?
@@PunsandPixelsit's a metaphor
@@devilsfavorite999thank you for clarifying. Her placement of the metaphor in the story telling made it sound literal
Kim has come across very mellow and polite, classy. She shares the same birth day as my son so she has to be very cool!
I love love your honesty, and how you haven't let yourself be bullied into obscurity. There's something just so chill about your personality, it's like you're my friend in my head.

You were great in the Blake Lively interview. Very professional.
OMG…you were more then professional…..I have never seen Blake Lively like that…and I will never see her in the same way…nor Ryan Reynolds…who I love to the moon and back….being a fellow Canadian….because if you are married to someone so deployable….cant do….she was an abosolute…BITCH….
Yes, let them (Blake and Co.) look stupid and unprofessional while you hold up your professional end.
I'm so glad you've been spilling all this tea - its time celebrities stop getting away with being mean just because they're famous, its not okay and they need to be checked.
Hard agree.
Where is the SJP interview tho?
Definitely!!!
Wow I like what Emilia Clarke recited about ‘fame is like growing a stupid hat you cant take off’. I can’t imagine being gawked at 24/7
That’s what I told my children about tattoos!
That’s how I felt as a child and a teenager with deformities living in the south. Now I live in California and being different isn’t something to be weirded out by, people don’t stare as much children are less likely to gawk and more likely to ask questions (which not everyone likes, I prefer it to being stared at like a zoo animal)
@@sukijay4990oh please
@@mcnoneya imma be honest, I'd be one of those ppl staring
Btw I personally don’t mind questions but some do I had a neighbor without survived polio and one leg was massively skinnier than the other, when I asked she got this look on her face, she answered but I could tell she didn’t like me asking, she was overall very nice though,

😂 yup SJP is a jerk. Just like Carrie.

Interesting and kind of sad.
Maybe Kim Cattrall was right saying SJP wasn’t nice on set and refused to participate in the last movie. Good for her!

Thank you for saying "Stay professional and be the better person". This is excellent advice not just for journalists, but really, any profession. Individual contributor or manager or freelance, etc. Always be the better person and you'll never regret your own actions. You can always control future interactions with the people who didn't behave well.
Yes, right!!

Oh my God. Thank you so much!! What an amazing compliment.
That makes me so happy to hear.

I know Kim Cattrall as “Lassie” in Porky’s. The character is memorable. I’m sure she’d prefer Mannequin. Beautiful woman.
The most surprising thing to me about Kim, was when I heard her talk out of character the first time, during an interview. Her voice is so soft, nothing like Samantha. I would think it would be a hard part to play. It's a real disappointment that SJP is not nice and I'm glad to hear that John is such a nice man!
