It's nice to see people are starting to try these alternative sets. Although I mostly own Lego sets I do own several of these other sets and love them.❤
Looks brilliant in your city! Glad you kept the FO Figure selling the news! This set was my first of the brand and I love it! The build was fun and it keeps away a lot of trouble with joining the lighting into the building process. There really seems to be a huge development in the line and how exciting to think about lighted modulars from them 😍
I bought this one as an experiment to see if I enjoy "lighting" sets up. It now sits proudly on the desk of my GF and looks super awesome. Funwhole for me at least is on par with Lego.
I think Funwhole has come such a long way like you said. I am obsessed with this new stand and I highly recommend the Apothecary if you ever make a medieval build.
Very good review, thank you. What good value this set is. I just purchased the Lego Telephone Box set. Nice set but £100 and still a sheet of stickers, sigh. If Funwhole can offer printed items then why can’t Lego? I’ve never had a Funwhole set - but this video has encouraged me to visit their website.
Amazing, I am personally not too against stickers, but it was super fun to build this set without them as all the prints were super nice. This totally made me excited for more, and they have awesome other sets too, though some of those may have stickers as the other two sets I reviewed previously did have them. They are super fun and detailed builds though and at this cost, definitely worth it.
I actually watched your more recent video before this one & I literally thought this was a really good moc- I had no idea this was a funhole set- and you’re right- the little minifig kinda has some wonky charm.. maybe that’s the fight between the newsstands.. his is older & his arms are weird- so the other news guy is all “I’m new and in shape- not all wobbly” lol, I need to wake up before writing comments. Haha. Excellent set! Great job!
I love the set. I got it a month and half ago and I've since moc-ed it and it's currently sitting on a square that's in front of my Natural History Museum. 😁
Great review Johanna, very helpful. It looks like the company is developing in the right direction although it is a shame that the lights are not compatible. I would have to put my own lights in then which adds extra costs. But I do love the look of it and it’s exciting that they want to have more city sets.
The plug/expansion board is actually compatible with other brands, funwhole just make the plug that will work two ways so you don’t have to worry which side you plug that in.
I whole heartedly agree with your comments on their current production BUT the history and thefts in the past cant be excluded because “now they can afford to be more ethical”
It probably wouldn't be too big of a thing to make a switchover or even solder the two lighting styles together. Even if connectors are differrent they likely use the same voltages anyway so it should be easy to make it compatible.
These are tricky. You can't patent an idea but you can patent the details and engineering, otherwise, we'd only have one brand of refrigerator. But in this case, without having done any research whatsoever, I feel quite confident that every company like this has copied Lego clearly in at the very least, unethical business practices. Having said that, I would buy this one and try to build it as much as possible by substituting Lego brand bricks, using only the printed plates where possible. I'd use the Funwhole bricks in mils plates or mountain and terrain areas where they are hidden. I'm sticking with Blinky Bricks here in the U.S. for all my lighting.
😮 oh that's actually great it. Come s with the light ..wow. LEGO so need to. Do that ..than paying $500 for moduler then $150 to $250 more for lighting kit. I guess Lego. Is behind in. Not saleing. Thay own lighting Lego brand kit s. Fact this set come with the lighting kit is very good.
Someone gifted me a copycat set from a LEGO competitor, and it was awful. The clutch power was excessive, the prints were excluded, and the instructions were confusing. So I'm not eager to try other non-LEGO brands, even though LEGO's quality control has been slipping lately.
I think the variety of non lego brand out there is wild, there is a huge difference between brick brands that are just exercising a cash grab, piggybacking off of lego's success and brands that care. You can't paint them all with the same brush. This brand is worth a shot, though there are many I would not say the same of.
Yeep Lego an thay designer s need to get onto. This an design Lego set s to fit the lighting kits into them..to make it easier to fit them in ..haveing the lighting kits so make s set s pop even more. Plus for night seen s .😊..the lighting in Lego set .has Shaw. Taken set s to another. Level. For tho s add. Who love the lighting in build s.

I bought this set! It was fun to build. I also got the saloon

It works so well near the history museum. The colours really compliment.

I couldn’t agree more. Though two lights would be all that is needed. Or if they just sold a separate component that made it compatible
Thanks really interesting and persuaded me to dip in and order the car they make from Amazon, it’s 25% off today so only £18.
Nice set Johanna have a great week great review happy Valentine's Day Johanna ❤

Fun hole! haha. I told that to my GF.
Personally i prefer the lights off when entering the Fun Whole 💡

I've got this one in my stash to do. It looked too good to pass by. I've got a few new brands in my hoard to try out now.

in a way, this is good, the leading brick company needs to feel competition so they might keep their prices down.
That set at 0:30 is so nice.
The interior was super amazing, the building experiace, not the best.
