Hangeng was the first foreign idol in Kpop to become really popular and influential in the industry. He's the one who paved the way for foreign idols. He was the most googled Kpop idol at the time when he was active as a Super Junior member even though he was not Korean, and he was booked left and right but SM and Korean authorities restricted his activities because he was foreign. He was one of the top most popular members in the group and his ship with Heechul was iconic. That's why his return to China was HUGE. He's the one who saved Yuehua Entertainment from bankruptcy and is the reason why it is the biggest Artist management company in China now. He has also created many big stars after him. Hangeng has received more than 75 grand awards which includes Artist Of the Year, Song of The Year, and Most Popular Actor. Plus, he was the first Chinese artist ever to win an MTV award : MTV Europe Music Awards' "Best Worldwide Act".
