Hi. Very good and informative video. Im actually getting ready to do the same on my toyota pickup truck. U gave me all the information i need. U r a very good instructor. Thanks.
Thanks Peter, my Honda Civic clutch and brake fluids are a little dark so I'm changing them soon. I run a rubber tube from the nipple into a glass jar, so I can watch for clear fluid exiting the tube when the pedal is depressed. Cheers.
Wondering how to clean an engine that looks like that? Step one is to wipe as much dirt off as you can with some dry rags. (A vacuum with a synthetic bristle brush will work too, if you don't mind cleaning the oil off the brush later, because the engine will probably have some oily dirt on it.) Then use some damp rags to remove the rest of the dirt, which got wet and stuck to everything. That is usually good enough. Don't apply a lot of force to old hoses, plastic vacuum lines, and wires, because the heat under there can make them brittle. But if you want perfection, dampen a rag with mineral spirits, and get the rest of the oily dirt off. Mineral spirts will evaporate completely. Before detergents were available, people washed clothes with it twice a year to get the oil from their skin out of the clothes. Do not use water from a hose to clean under the hood of modern vehicles There is too great a chance to get water inside the many, low voltage wiring connectors, and cause corrosion on the contacts which will be very expensive to diagnose and repair. Of course, since it is a machine, it doesn't matter if it is dirty.
I recall opening the bleeder at the clutch slave cylinder and using a vacuum pump connected to an air hose to draw the old fluid out and refill the reservoir on the clutch master cylinder.
Love your videos! Please keep up the great work. I would like to try this myself on my 1997 Tacoma. So I shouldn’t have to worry about bleeding the line if I do it this way? I feel confident I can do this myself but worry about getting air in the line.
Thank you so much, please give me advice for may hilux 2015 for change differential oil GL4 75W90 suitable or GL5 75W90.PPplease gift me suggest. thankyou.
There's black gooey stuff in my whole steel lines gravity bleeding is not enough even with the rubber hose is removed I'm still seeing black stuff and the slave cylinder was damaged only 6 days brand new
Or, get three transfer pumps at Harbor Freight when they are on sale for $3.99 Use one for brake fluid, one for ATF, and one for antifreeze. www.harborfreight.com/multi-use-transfer-pump-63144.html
If one day I get to watch all of your " Toyota Maintenance " Video would I be as good of a Mechanic as you are ? I know the answer but I still watch your Video anyway. You are the best MY FRIEND 🤌
@Toyota Maintenance. Thank you Professor Peter on today's class on clutch fluid servicing and antenna stud removal. I wondre whether a Speedout www.homedepot.com/p/Ontel-Speed-Out-Speed-Out-Titanium-Screw-Extractor-4-Piece-1000367/303667297 would work for removing that broken stud? Maybe the stud metal is too hard for using such a extractor? Hope you and your family stay safe and well.
This guy is great. Very articulate and good personality. Kind if reminds me of klink from hogans heros.
Peter, Have no doubt, we are here to support you.
You should take Peter out to dinner.
I love your methodical approach to every task. Wonderful videos.
Another valued video. Thank you! Any chance you can make a video of 2003 Tacoma 3.4L V6 VVT replacement?
Long surgical/air line tubing on that bleeder valve, vacuum and pour more. Saves time and avoids brake fluid dripping on other parts.
About to change my clutch fluid in my 98 Tacoma. This video was very helpful, as usual. Thank you for sharing your expertise and experience!

Ah MAZE EENG!
Great detail and methods. Everything you did have a purpose and never cut corners. Take you time making new videos. I will be patient.
This has nothing to do with the content itself but this is such good ASMR
I truly enjoy your Toyota Maintenance videos, Outstanding teaching in detail, May God Bless You and Your Channel, Mi Amigo
Omg I love the subtle sarcasm - "and since you are paying attention as usually..." It cracks me up!
You're very entertaining to watch Peter! I'm jealous of your little cozy shop :D
How come the 2nd gen v6 manual doesnt have a seperate clutch fluid reservoir?
Thanks Peter, my Honda Civic clutch and brake fluids are a little dark so I'm changing them soon. I run a rubber tube from the nipple into a glass jar, so I can watch for clear fluid exiting the tube when the pedal is depressed. Cheers.
Simple, but thorough ..... thanks Pieter!
Great trick to get that busted antenna base out! Nice!

Dude sounds like Colonel Klink! 🤣
Genuinely curious....how is dirt introduced into the clutch fluid system? Or is the fluid inherently dirty as it breaks down?
Does manual say conventional or synthetic for the Dot 3 fluid?
Wonderful job Peter

Really like your videos, don’t stop !!
Great work there!! Now.... can you fix a Mazda 3 with a bad clutch slave?
That a boy Peter! Really enjoy your videos!
A vacuums pump was one of the best tool investment I made. It allows you to do so much without a helper.
Peter, "get it out" "get it out"!!!!
Would that rubber boot be in the same location on my 2095 Toyota tundra v.6
Thanks for explaining this video with great information.
Interesting information and video
Great video! Thankyou so much for posting this!
My ex wife said I needed one of those pumps...wonder if this is what she meant. 😐
😂😂😂😂

I have a 2009 Prius and it has a very loud engine knock and loss of power. I would love to speak with you about this issue.
Great how to video, thank you Peter!
Peter. was that black part going back on the cap?????
Do you mean the black thing inside the master clutch reservoir
@@LAactor morning peter, yes the black round bit you said you were cleaning!!!
Do some vehicles not have a clutch fluid resevoir? I dont see one on my car. Just the brake fluid reservoir
Much =====only Manuel transmissions have that
great video Peter!
please put links in the description of the tools used
Put a hose on the bleed valve and guide it into a catch container , that’s what I do
Hoooah boutta do this after I get off work
A better flush is to also press down the clutch pedal with the bleed port open, then close it before taking foot off clutch pedal.
I never knew you could clutch fluid flush.
Don't you have to replace the entire antenna anyway?
Dot 4 using any problem
great video
he didn't depress the clutch during bleeding process...I wonder why
Thanks for making this video very helpful 👍🏽👍🏽✌🏽
Thanks Peter!
Just got one for my power steering fluid.
good work
Do you not have to bleed the master as well? A lot of resources recommend bench bleeding any master before install
Awesome....thx Peter.
Great vidio
My 2008 Jeep Liberty has plastic master and slave cylinders - which do not corrode.
Thank you!!
There's black gooey stuff in my whole steel lines gravity bleeding is not enough even with the rubber hose is removed I'm still seeing black stuff and the slave cylinder was damaged only 6 days brand new
Are you from Hungary?

The syringe is the CTA7073
