That was the First shoe that I truly coveted back in 89 in the 5th grade when someone brought them to school and holy caca the memories! Dope dope vid as always Mr and Mrs Wing 💯 greetings from FL!
I remember my friend getting these first in 5th grade and I would stare at his shoes in class until I finally got a pair.
My first pair was in 7th grade.. it was 1990. It was an all green pair from Footlocker. I got the all green because that color was on sale for like half the original retail price… probably because the color wasn’t popular. They also had these all Orange ones but those looked ugly… at least the all Green ones was a dark Forest Green which made them okay. They also had an all Blue which was Royal Blue. Those 3 colors were the ones that were heavily discontinued.

They're nice. What I don't understand though, is why they haven't brought back the high-top versions of that shoe (both the 89 & 90 iteration), as well as the Solo Flight High Tops (89 & 90). It's criminal really.

I have 2 pairs of the OG Flight highs and 1 pair of the OG Solo Flights and they are super soft leather uppers on those. Also the inside lining they have on the OGs is super soft and comfortable when worn.
So glad Nightwing finally got his 89s done right! Been a long journey and I’m glad we can finally rest easy now 😌
I had the original, they had the red Air on the tongue and the grey eye stays. I see they have them on Nike in big kid sizes the correct way. I need those!! 😂
I played in my states all star game in 2003 in these all whites. This shoe holds a special place and will always be in my rotation. Great video as always 🙏🏽

Love the channel and the content!! I've even gone back to look for older vids becuz I love the fact that u say they run small or true to size... It has really helped me going forward when buying shoes without going to the mall, which I hate having to do!! I'm about to age myself, but I remember I was in high school when these came out and I had gotten the black and gray colorway. I also attended a predominantly white high school with a more hispanic kids than black kids the ratio was so off there were maybe 8 kids in the BSU that were actually black including the teacher... being mixed, puerto rican and black myself, was not as cool as it is nowadays but I digress the first day I wore these to school all the pigment challenged kids kept asking me if they were the new Jordan's... I got to a point where I was asking them if they saw the Jordan figure on the shoes and when they said no there was the answer!! Nonetheless, I really liked this line of sneakers from the jump! The air revolutions were my fave besides the Jordan's but outta mom's budget but these just snuck in!! Thanx again for the great content!!

I had an all white pair with the gum sole bottom. I think I bought them in the year 2000. Had them up until about 2017. And the polyurethane literally crumbled… just sitting on the floor in my closet. I loved the shoes… they felt and looked great. Always got a lot of compliments on them… the gum sole really gave them that unique look.

Awesome shoes. Love that era of Nike. Also: lost in the woods with a tent for sure. Although I've seen enough episodes of Naked and Afraid to know that woods are still scary.
That’s my Church League Basketball go to! I rock the SuperSonics colorway often. Way more comfortable than 4s.

@@Lord_TigerMan 4s have never been comfortable. even the new SB style. I think Flight 89s are comfortable. Somehow they don't hurt my wide feet. not sure your question, but 4s are the most uncomfortable silhouette I own. Love the look of them though.

Anything with Chris getting this excited with a title like that is going to be a good one! I'll take the woods too, as in addition to the listed problems at sea, there's also the risk of drowning too if you can't swim and even then you'll tire out and sink.

these shoes were my favorite basketball shoes to play in when I was a kid. they were so comfortable and once I got rid of them the remakes were never the same. I have had many remakes over the years. I recently got the black and white one but haven't tried them on yet. thanks for the vid
I own a pair of retro 89s and as much as I really like them and wear them, they definitely feel different to how I remember the ones I had as a kid. The white and black look smashin'.

I have a pair of white and cement Flight Legacies from around 2011. The leather toebox wing looks completely different. Way shorter and not nearly as wide. I still have them and plan to restore them.
I absolutely love this shoe!! I was in 8th grade when they first came out..Wanted a pair of 4’s so bad but ended up with these bad boys instead. They were the only shoes I hooped in at that time. Owned at least 5 pairs since then up until 2012. So glad to hear the quality is some what better on these. Keep up the great content..you guys will be at a million in no time!!

My favorite version of the Air Flight 89 is from the Logo/Time Capsule Pack. Sorry I got rid of mine. Colorway was fire. The Ripstock vamp was cool and the materials were good overall.

Hi,great channel,I'm in the uk,im 48 yrs old and specifically remember going aftrr the jordan 4 grey cement(unsuccessfully)then the jordan 4 bred(unsuccessfully),then the air flight low 89 released almost to take pressure off the jordan 4 and the flights wete freely available and i copped.Unfortunately ripped the back of em on a moped,just copped a white and blue pair for £48 deluvered from asos👌

The Air Flights were originally smooth leather. The support wing was a much thicker leather on the pair I had in 1990.

I love these shoes! Especially bc they are not hyped like 4s so it makes it easier to cop. Still have a DS pair of olive 89s that dropped a few years ago.

I never owed a pair, but kids at school did and I only ever remember seeing them in leather, not durabuck.. 4s were soooo popular that kids definitely considered flights a takedown....❤ The woods have nice furry friends to make...like the growly ones and the howly ones 😊

Had to pick up a pair of these as soon as I found out this particular colorway of the Air Flight 89 was coming out this year. I was fortunate enough to come across these when I saw these at a Shoe Palace at my local mall last week and immediately copped a pair. Nike did an incredible job with these 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

These were the first basketball shoes my allowance could afford. They were definitely leather when I got them in ‘89. I grabbed two pairs of the Stüssy collab and they are nice. Remind me of the OGs way more than the pair I had in 2007.
I loved playing in these. Love this shoe!!! And the OG was originally leather, not Nubuck.
These are slept on. They are one of the more comfortable Nike shoes I have. I’m right on the fence about if they are true to size. I went true to size and loose laced them to feel better. Another pair I went up a half size and they’re slightly big.
these are clean. the rayguns air flight released last 2019 (not sure) are sleepers..

I got 3 pairs of these recently. All different colourways. All have differing levels of quality. Black and white were low quality. Blue and white were medium quality. White and cherry were high quality. But I still added another insole under the one it comes with, for a nice cushioned finish.
💯 choosing the woods. I already live in the Tennessee mountains 😂. And I hate sharks, so there's that.
The theory of the AJ4 being a takedown of the flight 89 instead of the other way around blew my mind. I never thought about it like that until now. Thanks Chris 😅
