Many thanks, Philip. Apart from the impeccable performance, your programme notes brought back happy memories - I lived for many years just 200 metres from St Vincent-de-Paul. It's a beautiful church by the architect Hittorff, well worth visiting, and contains not one, but two organs by Cavaillé-Coll.
Dear Andrew. Thanks again for your kind words. You have really been lucky being so close to so many churches and organs. 2 CC-organs in 1 church. That's wild. The only CC-organ we have in Scandinavia is actually one in Copenhagen (where I live). It only has around 20 stops but it's sound wonderful (as one might expect)
Thank you for this beautiful interpretation of "Priere". I will play this work for a lent service this evening and now realize I'm playing it much too fast.
This is a real delight! I've heard many different recorded versions of this over the years, starting with Herbert Dawson's on the Kingsway Hall organ in 1925 and going right through to yours. This version stands comparison with all of them. You've taken a slow tempo for the outside section, but you've held everything together beautifully, and the registration is just right. I'm enjoying my evening here with some great discoveries. Thanks so much!
Philip, you have pulled it out of the bag yet again. Takes me right back to a recording I made of this of a Polish friend playing this in Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral in the 90's, with it cavernous acoustic (with a very soft 32' beating in the final pedal note) Well done and thank you
I love reading such anecdotes. Firstly because it's gives you a personal reference when you heard the upload but I also get a personal story as well. Thank you for sharing Peter!
Once again a nice video, Philip. I really appreciate you taking the piece at a slightly slower tempo than most do. It gives it a more existential intimacy.

I love getting some perspectives from recordings I haven't heard myself. But also that my work has some quality to it by itself. Thank you John!
A beautiful intimate rendition. Thanks, Philip.
So kind of you to write that! 😌

Dear Nils-Ole. Yes I have also heard it play much faster but it didn't resonate with me. Glad my tempo was OK.
Magical!
WOW - my very first comment with some financial kindness! Thanks a ton Rudy!!!!
Beautiful playing, Philip! Bravo
Hi Alejandro! So kind of you to write that! 😌 Thank you so much!
Very beautiful, Philip! A really sensitive and moving rendition.
Thanks Theo. That's very kind of you!
Just gorgeous. Bravo!!! 😊
Your support means a lot 🙏🏻 Thanks Jerry
It's one of my favourite pieces. Your interpretation is very beautiful. Often this piece is played too fast.
It is indeed a very beautiful piece and yes, one of the hard things, is to keep his piece at peace ;-)
That was beautiful Philip
