Well done Dino. I just bought one of these things. Stuck it on the rotor of my Harley-Davidson. About a week after I bought it I was having a beer at the local pub and I heard it go off. I raced outside, and whoever had triggered it was gone. So I think these things are well worth the money. Might have saved me $20,000 plus.
I seen 4 guys lifting a motorcycle from a parking lot and pushed it inside a van, this was a big and heavy Harley, if they do this to a 800 pounds bike they can steal any bike in the street, probably chained to a tree or lighting pole, etc is better.Im here because I have a motorcycle, is light in weight and I want to invest in some security device but I believe a Kriptonite chain probably is better or maybe both things. Dude, you finish your video giving the more simple and solid explanation about security is an illusion, a stopper for a casual theft making it difficult, loud, time consuming to get there. In the same way some criminals dont want to pick a fight thefts prefer a easy grab and go. Great video.
I think it just adds more time for them to steal it, as I said in the video, if they really want it, they will find a way. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Dino
Very good review - your information is spot on. The lock is good value for the price. I agree with you that the lock visibility is a good deterrent - the thief will go to an easier target. If people think the alarm is too sensitive the batteries can be easily removed. From riding with others over the years I have to day " do not forget the visible reminder cord on the handle bar" - not a good day when you see a fellow rider forget the lock is on and attempts to ride off!
Yea......I was such a rider,15 years ago,Honda ST 1100 no bungi reminder next morning in hotel parking lot......Need I say more? It was a job to get the brute upright...Lesson learned..
Really good thorough review. I decided to buy several, inexpensive locks rather than one expensive one. My thoughts are, the more I have, the longer it would take to remove all of them and like you state, time is what you are buying here! Thank you for your help in making my decision
Like you said “locks keep honest people out.” But still a good deterrent. I’ve also heard that a cover helps. I guess by hiding the type of bike, plus adding time. Thanks for the review.
I've heard that as well about the cover. It's funny that something so simple works but I've read that fr.several sources. Thanks for taking the time to share the tip. Dino
Good review , I would definitely buy one at that price and it seems like a decent deterrent although I would probably remove the batteries. Thanks Paul ,oh after Karl’s recent experience did you get two of those ??
Great review, thanks! I got a question, would someone with steady hands and an allen key be able to simply unscrew and take the batteries out without triggering it?
not stainless steel. easily to open without a grinder only need a medium to large screw extractor and a drill to put it in between and add pressure takes less than a minute. Other disc locks tested that are stainless steel take at least 2-3 min and don't snap off.
F9 did a similar review on these types of bike security they’re some with built in GPs but what was interesting was that thieves where using cordless grinders for this & others like it in canada 🇨🇦 🥲
There really does not seem to be a way to truly stop a thief if they want your stuff. I've even seen demos on how to open these with tapered thread extractors. Although I don't think these are fool proof I do think they protect against crimes of opportunity. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Dino

The rotisserie is a nice addition to the show. The Schneider reference!! I almost pissed my pants! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for the comment. I'm afraid I watched a lot of TV as a child 🤣.

I like the idea of the alarm. It is very easy to pick a bike up and put on a trailer or in a truck. One more item of security.

Great tips Mal, I should have highlighted the importance of the reminder cord. As always, thank you for your feedback.

Great video, will look into a disk lock for sure. 👍
Great review!

Good impartial review mate, have been looking at similar locks and also looking at wireless alarms similar prices. Cheers
Thank you for the comment

Cool beans Dude! Looking forward to a long term update. I'm curious how it would act if the lanyard wasn't attached.
I think it would be less sensitive to wind but you would have to be extra cautious about not forgetting the lock when you ride away.

Thank you for the comment. Karl does have a disk lock now 😁

Anything is possible l suppose but I think it would be unlikely

Do you know if there is something similar for snowmachines? I agree though, it is only a deterrent and not a full blown preventative measure.
I'm not sure about the snow machines. I would think you could pass a cable lock through the track and around the seat.
Good question
