Hope anyone reading this finds the peace love and joy they are looking for. Try and find strength and faith in the fact that your loved ones are always with you and watch for you in everything you see and do. I actually had at a bit of an epiphany when the presenter said when he lose our second parent (especially for those of us you are only children) we lose the links to some of our fondest memories . So the challenge is ...lets make new memories and let's make sure our loved ones enjoy watching our new adventures. 🙏❤🙏
I definitely feel like an orphaned adult. I'm 46, single, no kids. I grew up without my dad and my Mom passed away in '19. I didn't have a good relationship with my Mom. Actually, I think she turned the rest of the family against me. I always wanted to repair the relationship with my brother, but it's not going to happen. I'm in an unhealthy relationship now. I would leave, but I feel like I'll have no one. My 5 pound pooch is my bestie.
Hey Jen: Although mine were the best, I was in a similar situation. The boyfriend was selfish and was not there for me and I lost one longtime friend who had no empathy and another who is going through some legal stuff. I will not tell you what to do but when my boyfriend would not driven me to the vet for my 🐇, I never looked back. I have only 1 friend I can count on and some friends who are pretty busy with work. I have a friend from out of state visiting in spring..and I am over the moon about it. At 46, life is short to have an albatross of someone who doesn't care..I am older than you and I look pretty ok, and while I am sad, I have a tiny seed of hope. Good luck whatever you do. I hope you have blessings.
I lost my dad in September 2018 to kidney failure. Then I found my mum dead in bed on January 2021 and I don't want to carry on living I don't know what to do. I want to be with them.
If you see this please get counseling. I'm sure your parents would want you to keep living. I lost my mom a month ago, dad almost 6 years ago, the grief and the feelings are killing me don't give up...
This holiday I am sad..but I have my 🐇..the most affectionate, troublemaking clown ever. She fills up 80% of my day. I wish I had more time to reminisce. 🐇s are the best..but my advice ( as much as I ❤❤❤her and would not give her up, is to get one 2 years old..they go through crazy teenage before then. I now am a pretty sad about things but my bun also does make me laugh..and when I think I have nothing ..I think of her. I will always have bunnies. Pets are a godsend.

Some orphaned adults have no family or estranged family.😑
