The best concert performer ever I have seen her perform many times. She was an amazing lady. She did not suffer fools gladly and was very outspoken sometimes this cost her dearly. They don't make em like this lady anymore. Loved and missed.
Yes, that was so kind, bless you! I thought I wrote to thank you at the time; I usually have manners! Dot seems to be the continuing source of fascination for many ... I am glad about that ...
I only very recently heard of this lady, via some wonderful references from Danny La Rue. Thank you for posting this. A tremendous woman, clearly loved and very much missed. ox
Remember a guy booking DS for a concert in the 60's at a Working Mens in Birmingham at the end of her career . He was an absolute fan , picked her up in his car and took her to the club . On getting out of the car she said " What sort of fking place is this . ?" Later banned by the courts for vexatious law suits . Unfortunately died alone and bankrupt . Proper rags to riches and back again .
Dorothy's RAIN RAIN GO AWAY ALBUM for DECCA Is magical and ranks with the greatest vocalists of the era

THE PLAY SAY IT WITH FLOWERS IS A MUST.
Not very good research by Ruth, Roger Moore had been married prior to his marriage to Dorothy Squires.
Ria but what she said about their relationship is true. If she missed that RM had already been married, the rest was true.
RIP RUTH MADOCK...
id love to see it
