MatafiedGaming Haha same here even though doing this work is really straight forward having that trunk release button makes me point to 05-09 owners lol
This was so easy! Not having an interior trunk release was very annoying, working in the garage without the key handy and wanting something in the trunk. Well, no more. The instructions that came with the button were great, plus having this video to refer to made it a snap. I highly recommend.
It’s funny how people are complaining about how much work this is. I didn’t even buy the kit, I went to autozone to buy a switch and some wire and it took me 30min. Literally this easiest job you can ever do on the car.😂
shhh. Don’t let them know we’re all doing that, they might delete this tutorial for the wire knowledge lol. But for reals I’m not paying $45 for $6 worth of wire and switch.
White Wire.. Pink Stripe. Thanks for the tip! ;) It's not that much work, just finished and I soldered everything in... It's worth it, even my Taurus SHOs had truck release switches. My Gen3 actually had 2. Next movement... Get some more light in that trunk, the one built into the lid... isn't gonna cut it.
great product your video was spot-on perfect with everything you said for my son's 2007 GT I did it in under 20 minutes thank you for your help much appreciate the video
The schematics for a 2007 Mustang read a white/violet wire from the C2280C connector, but I guess it looks pink. I don't know where you got pin 21 from, though. It says here that pin 13 is the output for the wht/vio trunk release wire from the C2280C.
I bought this release button kit and it was not bad at all and it works good so far lol When I bought the car it didn't have a trunk key and previous owner tied a pull rope to the emergency trunk open latch. I hated that shit pulling a rope to open trunk. I just happened to run across this release button and gave it a shot and was not bad at all to install. Mine is a 2005 so I didn't have to do all that extra crap for an 07-08, if that would been the case I just stuck to pulling the rope from back seat lol. But yeah it works good (so far) on my 05. I would recommend it, don't know if I would if I had to do all that extra stuff for 07 -08.
H no... Bought mine with a broke stereo anyway. Ditched it for a Double DIN, Android Based Head Unit/ it runs audio via Bluetooth. Who wants to be bothered with one more cable.
Yeah...easier solution, route a cable to the actuator, use a 1 way diode to avoid damaging the SJB, use an small relay and a rocker button. All done without even opening the center console or kickpanel....... 🤣 You guys reaaaaally overdid it... Engineer hint: KISS (keep it simple stupid)
Whats the odds on damaging SJB you think? i never did diodes, what if ill just add a button delivering power to actuator cable? no relay, no diode, just a button between power source and actuator cable? do you think i might damage anything? SJB or anything else?
Y the hell do u need a button...u have a button it's on the fob..push truck pops...key in tr..it pops....jump wire the relay ..pop...how many pops u need
no person with any self respect would use scotch locks, one of the worst inventions. Done my install on a 2005 in 1.0 hr. You only need to take top cover of console off, 2 screws, run ground to ground terminal under kick panel and solder into the white/pink wire. Taped the harness to existing harness under carpet.
It's a real pain in the ass not having that trunk release button inside the Mustang. Not exactly one of Ford's "better ideas" and God help you if your key fob doesn't work or your car battery is dead. What's next, no door lock keys? The engineers at Ford who designed this fiasco should be fired immediately.
I have never felt more grateful for that yellow button in my 2004 Mustang than today. Thank god!
MatafiedGaming Haha same here even though doing this work is really straight forward having that trunk release button makes me point to 05-09 owners lol
TheNight3434 Haha, I used to take it for granted, but after knowing this, not any more lol
It's nice to have people read the instructions out loud sometimes. Thank you

That's great to hear! We're glad that our video was very useful!

Holy crap! I think I will keep using my key to get in the trunk.
There’s no way i’m doing this on my own but the way this explained it seemed very clear and self-explanatory.
White Wire.. Pink Stripe. Thanks for the tip! ;)

This was too easy! I have wire and a switch laying around and did it in 30 minutes, thanks

Thanks for the great feedback Sean. Glad everything worked for you! -Landan
Did you have to unpin anything?

Man thats alot of work for a trunk release button lol!
right!
Might be worth it though

They had a chance to make this trunk release button as OEM looking as possible but failed miserably. A big red button does not look like an OEM part.
Video was super helpful. Thank you! Triple
I put the same exact kit on mine from CJPP and this kit is great but the button is always live and opens randomly when I'm driving.
Is that AUX port standard on the 05-09 mustang gt?
07 and up I think
H no... Bought mine with a broke stereo anyway. Ditched it for a Double DIN, Android Based Head Unit/ it runs audio via Bluetooth. Who wants to be bothered with one more cable.
I have 3 wires that are pink & white stripes...I don't know which one I'm suppose to connect it to..PLEASE HELP ME?!! 😩😫😫😫
Did mine... Not working... Buttttt I'm sure it's connection issue or something. No biggy, still have to rebuild the rest of the car

what the newedge had one
Yep. It was on the glove box. -Landan
Yeaaaah, I’ll just buy another $2 key fob and leave it in the car....
Otto Bauch that’s what I find even rigged on the same panel
La paix
I thought it was me:/
Now I know. Car doesn't have one.

Theres still a key hole on the trunk…
@@mightymustang5067 Yes, and you have to turn off the car to open the trunk because they're the same key.
