I would love to hear Cecilia Bartoli at the Palau because it's simply gorgeous, but I have never seen her live before, so I would love to see her anywhere really! :)
Interesting how they use bits of a few seconds of music all through. It makes me quite nervous, and I think some more sensitivity to the music would not have gone amiss.
@umroo2014 No I don't! Wish I did! I know it's not from any of the arias she sang, so it's probably some lost orchestral work from Malibran's time!
Well, it's nice seeing how things run when we're not actually seeing a polished, finished "product" in the form of a concert, but I agree that more practising and insights into the music would have been better. However, it came from the DVD with Bartoli researching and singing about Malibran in the concert and a documentary, so we got enough of that there. Perhaps it's to show another part of her that we normally don't get to see :) Interesting anyhow...because it's Cecilia Bartoli!! :)
@umroo2014 After looking through some concert programs I think I found a possible match: The Overture from the opera "La figlia dell'aria" by Manuel García, Maria Malibran's father!
@SsteinwayS I feel like it's an overture. sounds like Rossini but I wish I could be 100% sure!

anyone know what the opening piece is at the very beginning of the video?
I wish I even knew how to get my hands on a recording of it! Was this concert released on DVD? I feel like it may have been the opening piece for the program.
