Haven't you got to push the foot pedal down to allow the fluid through..?

      Fantastic! Glad it helped!
Do you have an Aprilia or is the brake switch on another bike?

      Awesome.
I have a few other maintenance videos on the Aprilia. The may be helpful if you’re tinkering/maintaining the bike.
      All the best

Awesome series! I recently took over an RS125 as well and have been tinkering with small maintenance bits and improvements. The bike has some rusted screws and bolts that I intend to replace but they aren't top priority at the moment.
I have a question on the use of grease vs normal oils/spray on lubricants. I took apart my brake and clutch lever screws while adjusting their height/angle to fit my foot placement, during that time I did what you did which was clean off all the parts from the gunk. When putting them back however, I noticed you used grease. As I didn't have grease, I just used a GT85 as a temporary lubricant. When should I use grease and how do I differentiate its usage with other less heavy spray on lubricants?

      Hello there.
      Thanks for your message.
I always use a thick grease on bearings, wheels spindles, pivot bolts and rubber seals.
I believe GT85 is a chain lube? Designed to be light and stick to a fast moving chain without flicking of.
I suggest getting a cheap pot of grease for your restoration. It’ll help you along the way👍
Another product I use is Copper Grease. It’s an anti seize, designed protect bolts in high temperature areas or subject to long standing abuse, such as brake callipers. If you can afford it, I’d get a small pot.
      Hope this helps pal

My question is , does the pistons in back caliper wind back in to sit flush with caliper ?I changed my back disc but can’t get caliper pistons to go back in enough to get the caliper and pads back on

Hi Reid. Thanks for your comment.
To answer your question, yes, the back brake pistons should move back into the calliper. It is usually difficult moving the pistons.
Please note with care - the rear brake fluid will riser in the reservoir as you move the pistons into the calliper. You make need to drain some fluid as you push the pistons inwards. Brake fluid is corrosive to paint so be sure to cover the work areas of your bike👍
      Hope this helps. Good luck

Why have you chosen the diablo rosso tyre? isn't it "too good" for the RS125?

    • @tomdidit4216
      @tomdidit4216  2 роки тому

      Hi Januszegg.
The Rosso 3 is a bit overkill, but hey, what not.
I’m getting one on the front soon.
      Thanks for your comment.

Great video, have the same issue on mine. I've got a late one on a 2012 but I'm sure the part will be the same. What year is your bike?

      Hi Stian.
Sorry I don’t have a link for this part as I bought it direct from an Aprilia shop.
I think the video contains the model number? Check that out on the net👍
