You could use that data to model an animation rig for the driver in his seat. Either by using gathered data to create simple and generic baked animations with low performance penalty or do something more modern like using that data in real time to animate it in a more natural way, similar to how the springs and frame are animated.

The simple reason to your question is the market audience...even though this is incredible, not everyone who wants to have this can. The option would be have multiple graphic settings, however why working harder on a specific set of option to integrate when not needed.

I've often found getting the right level of exposure without losing details on lighter toned spots is super trick. You seem to have found how to do that.

When in cockpit mode, you can ONLY tell that it might be a game from the motion of the steering wheel, BUT it’s very obvious that it’s a game from the exterior camera shots as looking at the car whip around the track from an observer’s pov that’s in the sidelines.
It's funny to realize that just 30 years ago I was downloading games from audio cassettes to my ZX Spectrum.)) And considered Stunt Car Race to be the pinnacle of physics and realism! ))
I was *THE* sit-down version HardDrivin' champion at every Putt-Putt within 100 miles or so of Virginia Beach. And I could make the original stand-up version glitch and send cars across the sky upside down by nailing perfect laps within .2 seconds of each other consistently. *ALL WITH THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION* feature
@@istachi The problem with assetto corsa is that it has almost zero damage so you can't really simulate a proper crash like in iracing. You also can't simulate a race longer than two laps.

I think this is really great but i'll add: 1- i think a little inertia in the cameras and not having the absolutely fixated in place to the car would come a long way towards realism (exept maybe for the tail camera). also at 1:10 the driver model will gratly benefit for the same treatment, havng some inertia in his head, chest area and arms, if that feasable. also about the LUT i think you are using, don't know if the saturated, washed out colors add much to the realism
Great Job. One upon the time there was a Ps4 game, in my opinion very underrated, named Driveclub. This game was ahead of its time and it featured an amazing rain effects and photorealistic graphics which have not been replicated on other consoles until now and that can only be achieved with modern spaceshuttled PC reshaded and modded. The developers responsible of that amazing game are now working on a new IP with Codemaster. I wonder what will come out.

I have my flight rig set up right now though and it's a headache to switch between them. I have saved the video though. It's in my AC Mods YT playlist folder now. I noticed that the car looks like it's driving in dry conditions with the way the physics are. Or the rain tyre's, mechanical grip, weight of car and downforce is extremely good. It's very heavy rain after all. I also have no idea about the drainage system and what the puddle formation is like on the Nordschliefe. Who knows?
The only strange thing is the entire interior looks like it has the same amount of roughness to every single part of the cockpit. It would definately benefit with a touch of some glossy plastic/carbon/metal/leather parts but perhaps it is an engine limitation of PBR texturing inside the car what is kinda strange.
Screen space reflections @2:15 break the illusion but otherwise looks very impressive. Look for the road suddenly becoming white as it suddenly starts to reflect the sky - but only when the sky is in the screen. Before that it’s darker.

I'm frankly confused as to why people say this looks real. Yes, it looks amazing. Too amazing. There's no way any camera could capture that much eye-popping detail, that quickly, at these speeds. It's an unreasonably pretty image, like when you look at a TV on sale or something. It seems like you'd need a shit ton of light to get all the colors to pop that much, certainly way more than you'd get with a cloudy, rainy sky. I'm not bagging on this shader, mind you. It looks freaking amazing. Intense colors and amazing detail all around, without being overblown. It's simply too good to be real life, thus it is artistically beautiful, but not photorealistic xD

I love Assetto Corsa much more than the new version of the game. It runs better on my computer and somehow manages to look better as well. Also w/ the downloadable interface you can more easily get into multiplayer games.
the only thing that I see can be added for more realistic is tires aren't picking up the water (at 0:24). Tires should be sliding slighty in this weather condition but we can see it's gripping so well on the road (Flugplatz corner) other than that I'm satisfied with everything else.
Only way you can tell this is a game is from the Pagani actually being driven instead of being a showpiece.

Dash cam looks incredible! And the rain just proves again (hint hint, DriveClub), that you get full immersion when raining.
