The fact that this game is still going so strong is crazy. It's already almost 10 years old. There needs to be something new come out at some point...it's getting to be like Live for Speed at this point if you're old enough to remember that game (the never ending saga of 3.0 which eventually came out like 10 years later lol)
Tbh it would be pretty cool if AC2 is just a port of AC1 with a revamped graphics pipeline, better AI, some QOL updates and modern community/server features. That's what AC1 lacks natively right now. Everything else is pretty much covered with mods and the base game. Sequels to this type of game should build upon what's there and modernize, not start from the ground up. AC1 is the most robust foundation for a racing game on the market already, why start from scratch in something like UE? I'm not a game dev though I suppose.

I must say that as a professional game environment artist myselft this is one of the very few reshade/texture and light mod for a game that really improves and get the game close to a real life look. Great Job for the Creators and i just hope someone make a mod that also improve the sound system for the game instead of just replacing the sounds themselves, as together with a mod like this would make AC amazing good looking and also belivable and realistic.

I try it and after optimising my FPS with yours tips in your next video, I had also to change in the ppfilter file "ini" the value of vignetting strentgh due to my ultrawide 34" screen else I had a very pixellated blue gradient into the sky. Just to warn low resolution users (below 1080p), your screen might show some white kinda pixel stripes with this specific reshade, I suggest you then to take the reshade off
@@zephyr_855 I tested in 1600x900 and I have no problem try disabling full screen mode otherwise you can try unchecking the effects one by one to see where the problem comes from
i don't know if it's because i'm on 1080p, but i've done multiple fresh reinstalls of SOL, pure, reshade, video and CSP settings. followed every instruction down to the tee and it just looks awful! there is this constant overlay of dots in bright spots like i'm watching a grainy VHS tape. also, if you value your eye sight, unusable in almost all DRY weather conditions. this is just another case of "looks pretty with wet tracks and only in specific weather conditions during a very specific time of day". can't recommend this at all!
have you tried disabling and re-enabling some reshade effects? I also noticed this VHS rendering but only at night when there are very few light sources I'm working on a fix. My preset is a personal preset that I adapted in relation to the calibration of my TV and I am aware that it is possible that it will not adapt to everyone, that is why it is free and that I recommends to adjust by yourself by changing the values.
@@maximumcustomgames2416 i tried everything to at least get rid of those grains. unless i disable everything and make everything too dark to see, they'll stay. which doesn't make sense since some of those effects shouldn't produce that kinda artifacting. i assume it's the post processing filters fault then? another thing i noticed at night in shutoko for example, you set the csp_lights emissive really high, which makes the whole buildings glow unnaturally, as opposed to just the windows inside. it's probably really hard to adapt it to other hardware. still nice to look at in videos and i hope the hard work pays off soon! :)
@@mcchickengrip423 I am testing a new version and by modifying I found that it is the effect of solaris, curves and lumasharpen which produce these artifacts. I try not to use these effects but the PPfilter does not allow me to have a similar rendering. I found an alternative solution to erase these artifacts by activating the CRT lottes, it gives a nice effect to the game, I will post a video soon

@@mcchickengrip423 for the CSP parameters I checked all the possible effects and put everything to the max for example if you find that the shadows are grainy you can put back to default by clicking on the reset option or by right clicking with the button of the mouse I intend to make a video explaining the graphic options of CSP but I need a little time

With the latest PURE 0.180 you don't need Reshade anymore since it has tonemapping features. Hopefully you will be able to get the same efftect or even better and be able to regain your FPS back.
for now I'm testing with Pure 0.180 and even with tonemapping I get a nice rendering but not as I want I'm still working on it. you can uncheck "ppfx ssdo" and "mxao" to increase your FPS😉

did you have this problem before installing my preset? if this is a first installation of Pure, I advise you to delete Pure and reinstall it via Peter Boese's .bat included in the Pure folder. Once you have reinstalled Pure check that everything is ok then install my preset

I don't udnerstand. I followed everything correctly but when i open the map and then the pure config, in script laoded there is no Vision Reality. It's on Scriptloaded _ defualt_script.lua. So i try manually IMPORT, and i select it, but still it remains default_script.lua. What is happening exactly?
import my profile by clicking on "Import" in Pure Config. Once it is loaded check in the "light" tab that you have values which are in yellow this means that my profile is loaded then go to the "PP" tab then click on "Save script settings" and normally it will be loaded for the next time

There is just a Reshade popup that appears at the top of the screen when you launch the game. When you load the Reshade preset there is no popup. To know if it is loaded you should have check effects

i had an issue when i loaded in game it say there was an error loading in your reshader. i hoverd over the red problem and it says [qUINT_ssr.fx] failed to complete. unrecognized property pls help
to correct this error you must either upgrade to version 5.X.X of Reshade or update the file "qUINT_ssr.fx" or delete it from the folder "assettocorsa eshade-shaders\Shaders". In any case even if it indicates an error of "qUINT_ssr.fx" it is not important because this shader is not used with my preset. I have released other versions in the meantime and you no longer need Reshade. Check my channel😉
to choose the PPfilter you have to open Content Manager -> Settings -> Assetto Corsa -> Video in Video you must have "Filter" and there you must choose my ppfilter but I advise you to take my latest version but you must have Pure and CSP installed before ua-cam.com/video/_I-IyqF2x8I/v-deo.html
if you have errors in red it doesn't matter as long as you have the same shaders to check how in the video. However I recommend my latest version which is on my Patreon it's free you just need an account

I have HDR monitor and when I use your guide everything turns super white, way way too bright, what do I do? disabling alot of effects help but nothing helps disabling the whiteness.. without reshade it looks a lot better. this effect usually happens when I use a software that doesnt support HDR, but asseto doesnt have an HDR toggle..
I also play on a TV with HDR and I have no problem. Windows 11 HDR and auto HDR for non-HDR sources activated, on the other hand, you must not activate the HDR of the games in Content Manager when launching the game, a pop-up from Windows auto HDR is activated and there everything is ok

Yes, you need Pure from Peter Boese thé lastest version is Pure 0.190 and you need CSP (Custom Shader Patch) from ilja too. It's a Patreon software and i suggest you to install my AC Vision Reality 1.2 Ppfilter you have a link in the description. They have some tutorial for how to install CSP and Pure in YT🙂
for 4K 60fps with full settings I recommend an RTX 3090 to also have replays in 4k 60fps. I had an RTX 3090 before the 4090 and during replays I had drops to 45-50 fps even with FSR activated. This is because you are using the latest versions of Reshade otherwise you have to update the shaders which are in error. But it doesn't matter as long as the shaders in my video are activated, it's good. But I advise you my latest ppfilters you will no longer need to install Reshade
Awesome video.. i installed assetto corsa 3 weeks ago on pc. I have the lattest cm. Sol and pure. Managed to get traffic etc.. i havnt done the reshade thing.. seems to really make a difference. Do i install with the current sol, pure. Cm that i have? Im current with lattest ones.
If you have the lastest Pure i suggest you to install the Ppfilter AC Vision Reality 1.2 you have a link in the description of this video. With the 1.2 you don't need to install Reshade. You juste need Pure, sol planner and my Ppfilter 1.2

my fps seems very bad, not sure if i found some sort of bug. I am running an RTX 4060 (laptop max TDP) with an I9-13900H Got around 30 fps max on my last run, alone in oulton park track which is a direct import from ACC running on 1440p, everything high. Before downloading fitler, was able to max at 1440p with 100+ fps. It still looks amazing, just quite undrievable like this
did you load my CSP profile? because I set it all to the maximum if not disable Reshade in game to see if you have an improvement if this is the case I advise you to uncheck "mxao" and "PPFX SSDO"
it's a laptop, call it gaming laptop it doesn't matter ... , sometimes @ work I've to test some laptops, modded & maxerd AC just make struggle every laptop I 've tested. GPU thyermal throttling appears really soon and it just kills the game. From my experience I'd never recommend using a laptop for gaming, not just AC, anything

click on import and load AC Vision Reality 1.1 in X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\extension\config-ext\Pure once loaded click on "Save" and it should be good

Sunlight bottom 2 are yellow.ambient light most are yellow. Dustance botyom 2 are yellow.directional ambient light white. And do on. Whats next?

I don't know how to deactivate it because I can no longer launch the game (I suck actually hahahaha ) or if I have to wait for a new update and I don't know where I can reset the setting. Awesome effects and tutorial!! I just wish sound would be better in all racing games. Still kinda skinny and "meeeee" sounding sometimes. And tire squeal is a bit exaggerated too. 😢
yes there are 3D trees but I find that some make the game less beautiful. It depends on the tracks. There are also skin packs for 2D trees and they are very well done and above all offer better performance.

i don't know if it's because i'm on 1080p, but i've done multiple fresh reinstalls of SOL, pure, reshade, video and CSP settings. followed every instruction down to the tee and it just looks awful! there is this constant overlay of dots in bright spots like i'm watching a grainy VHS tape. also, if you value your eye sight, unusable in almost all DRY weather conditions. this is just another case of "looks pretty with wet tracks and only in specific weather conditions during a very specific time of day". can't recommend this at all!
have you tried disabling and re-enabling some reshade effects? I also noticed this VHS rendering but only at night when there are very few light sources I'm working on a fix. My preset is a personal preset that I adapted in relation to the calibration of my TV and I am aware that it is possible that it will not adapt to everyone, that is why it is free and that I recommends to adjust by yourself by changing the values.
@@maximumcustomgames2416 i tried everything to at least get rid of those grains. unless i disable everything and make everything too dark to see, they'll stay. which doesn't make sense since some of those effects shouldn't produce that kinda artifacting. i assume it's the post processing filters fault then? another thing i noticed at night in shutoko for example, you set the csp_lights emissive really high, which makes the whole buildings glow unnaturally, as opposed to just the windows inside. it's probably really hard to adapt it to other hardware. still nice to look at in videos and i hope the hard work pays off soon! :)
@@mcchickengrip423 I am testing a new version and by modifying I found that it is the effect of solaris, curves and lumasharpen which produce these artifacts. I try not to use these effects but the PPfilter does not allow me to have a similar rendering. I found an alternative solution to erase these artifacts by activating the CRT lottes, it gives a nice effect to the game, I will post a video soon

@@mcchickengrip423 for the CSP parameters I checked all the possible effects and put everything to the max for example if you find that the shadows are grainy you can put back to default by clicking on the reset option or by right clicking with the button of the mouse I intend to make a video explaining the graphic options of CSP but I need a little time

With the latest PURE 0.180 you don't need Reshade anymore since it has tonemapping features. Hopefully you will be able to get the same efftect or even better and be able to regain your FPS back.
for now I'm testing with Pure 0.180 and even with tonemapping I get a nice rendering but not as I want I'm still working on it.

did you have this problem before installing my preset? if this is a first installation of Pure, I advise you to delete Pure and reinstall it via Peter Boese's .bat included in the Pure folder. Once you have reinstalled Pure check that everything is ok then install my preset

I know this is an old video but, even if I copy exactly everything you do my graphics are completely different from yours. Reshade even gives me an error
I don't udnerstand. I followed everything correctly but when i open the map and then the pure config, in script laoded there is no Vision Reality.
It's on Scriptloaded _ defualt_script.lua. So i try manually IMPORT, and i select it, but still it remains default_script.lua.
What is happening exactly?
import my profile by clicking on "Import" in Pure Config. Once it is loaded check in the "light" tab that you have values which are in yellow this means that my profile is loaded then go to the "PP" tab then click on "Save script settings" and normally it will be loaded for the next time

There is just a Reshade popup that appears at the top of the screen when you launch the game. When you load the Reshade preset there is no popup. To know if it is loaded you should have check effects
Put a distorted lens effect (almost kind of like a fisheye) and a more shaky cam and it would be hard to distinguish from real footage

I think it's auto exposure. Open "Pure Config" then go to the "PP" tab select "Hybrid" in "Exposure settings method".

i had an issue when i loaded in game it say there was an error loading in your reshader. i hoverd over the red problem and it says [qUINT_ssr.fx] failed to complete. unrecognized property pls help
to correct this error you must either upgrade to version 5.X.X of Reshade or update the file "qUINT_ssr.fx" or delete it from the folder "assettocorsa
eshade-shaders\Shaders".
In any case even if it indicates an error of "qUINT_ssr.fx" it is not important because this shader is not used with my preset.
I have released other versions in the meantime and you no longer need Reshade. Check my channel😉

hi, yes Reshade is working with the latest Pure. When using Reshade you will experience FPS drops. I advise you to use only the ppfilter without Reshade

I have HDR monitor and when I use your guide everything turns super white, way way too bright, what do I do? disabling alot of effects help but nothing helps disabling the whiteness.. without reshade it looks a lot better. this effect usually happens when I use a software that doesnt support HDR, but asseto doesnt have an HDR toggle..
I also play on a TV with HDR and I have no problem. Windows 11 HDR and auto HDR for non-HDR sources activated, on the other hand, you must not activate the HDR of the games in Content Manager when launching the game, a pop-up from Windows auto HDR is activated and there everything is ok

for 4K 60fps with full settings I recommend an RTX 3090 to also have replays in 4k 60fps. I had an RTX 3090 before the 4090 and during replays I had drops to 45-50 fps even with FSR activated. This is because you are using the latest versions of Reshade otherwise you have to update the shaders which are in error. But it doesn't matter as long as the shaders in my video are activated, it's good. But I advise you my latest ppfilters you will no longer need to install Reshade
Awesome video.. i installed assetto corsa 3 weeks ago on pc. I have the lattest cm. Sol and pure. Managed to get traffic etc.. i havnt done the reshade thing.. seems to really make a difference. Do i install with the current sol, pure. Cm that i have? Im current with lattest ones.
If you have the lastest Pure i suggest you to install the Ppfilter AC Vision Reality 1.2 you have a link in the description of this video. With the 1.2 you don't need to install Reshade. You juste need Pure, sol planner and my Ppfilter 1.2

my fps seems very bad, not sure if i found some sort of bug.
I am running an RTX 4060 (laptop max TDP)
with an I9-13900H
Got around 30 fps max on my last run, alone in oulton park track which is a direct import from ACC
running on 1440p, everything high.
Before downloading fitler, was able to max at 1440p with 100+ fps.
It still looks amazing, just quite undrievable like this
did you load my CSP profile? because I set it all to the maximum if not disable Reshade in game to see if you have an improvement if this is the case I advise you to uncheck "mxao" and "PPFX SSDO"
it's a laptop, call it gaming laptop it doesn't matter ... , sometimes @ work I've to test some laptops, modded & maxerd AC just make struggle every laptop I 've tested. GPU thyermal throttling appears really soon and it just kills the game. From my experience I'd never recommend using a laptop for gaming, not just AC, anything

Yes, choose "AC Vision Reality 1.2 Pure 0.180" and in game open Pure config in the taskbar on the right of the screen. Then go in the "light" tab of Pure config if you see some yelow values it mean my Ppfilter is load correctly. If values are in white color go in PP tab and import Pure config for load my values

Sunlight bottom 2 are yellow.ambient light most are yellow. Dustance botyom 2 are yellow.directional ambient light white. And do on. Whats next?

in the description I recommend taking version 1.3.4 rather than 1.1 because 1.3.4 is also beautiful without Reshade and therefore performs better
hello everyone , I have a big problem with RESHADE🥶 , I activated something and since then I can no longer launch my assetto corsa x( . I don't know how to deactivate it because I can no longer launch the game (I suck actually hahahaha ) or if I have to wait for a new update and I don't know where I can reset the setting. IF SOMEONE KNOW TELL ME 😮💨😉
manually uninstall all files named "Reshade" "dxgi.dll" and "reshade-shaders" folder😉

Awesome effects and tutorial!! I just wish sound would be better in all racing games. Still kinda skinny and "meeeee" sounding sometimes. And tire squeal is a bit exaggerated too. 😢

yes there are 3D trees but I find that some make the game less beautiful. It depends on the tracks. There are also skin packs for 2D trees and they are very well done and above all offer better performance.

check if your exposure is 100%. Otherwise open Pure Config "PP" tab and increase the brightness but check that my settings have been loaded

@@asad4310 try my lastest version 1.3 you have better performance than 1.1 and you don't need Reshade anymore. 1.3 is just a Ppfilter and it's for Pure 0.205. Look on my channel to fond it👍
