Every year I plan on learning this. And every year I don’t quite get it down before the season is gone. This year, 2023, I’m am going to spend a year learning Christmas tunes!
Open C is a beautiful tuning to play around with. As a side note, if anyone hasn't checked it out... Nirvana's Krist Novoselic uses this tuning in the 3rd Secret album. He is also a big Fahey fan. Keep on rockin' in the free world. Very nice playing in this clip as well. Thank you for being musical!
Hiowdy!!! Blind Brand X here!!! Sounds great man!!! Fahey is my fave and I've had the pleasure of doing gigs with John and Leo Kottke...and I have met Peter Lang, Robbie Basho and Michael Gulezian...Fahey also recorded my arrangement of "Away In a Manger" on his first Varrick album (credited to RC Johnston on the label)...your lesson is alot more enjoyable than all the others I have heard over the years!!! Cheers!!! BBX.
Hi Ralph. Amazing to hear you've been involved with those legendary players personally and that Fahey himself recorded one of your arrangements! And thanks for your kind comments about my video. All the best, Adrian.
Thanks once again Adrian. I’m learning so much from you that I’m having to write them down in a list to remember to practise each piece. The other thing is that I’ve always struggled to convince my wife why I need so many guitars but now I have 1 tuned to open C, 1 to G and another to drop D. The rest are looking forward to my discovering another gem from your extensive repertoire.
Ive enjoyed your tutorial of Anji.Thankyou very much. I would really like to learn "the Last steam Engine train by John Fahey as played by Leo koetke. Any chance of you doing a lesson on this amazing fingerstyle piece??

Cheers dude, great lesson, this tuning opens up for so many Christmas songs, even Fairytale of New York!
Don't know what I'd do without you, Adrien! I'm 68 and must re-learn my Holiday songs every year!
You bloody legend!

Bravo for flying the JF flag! Such an important guitarist... Thanks!
Yeah, I've got really into JF over the past year or so. An amazing artist, I'll have to try doing some more of his stuff in the future.
This is great. I went to the website for the tab but could only view it onscreen. Any chance for a pdf?
