I think that little "doo-dad" you found is an old rug beater. Ladies used to drape their throw rugs over the banister of the porch and swat the dust out of the rugs with a beater. Cool find, whatever it is. :) That other thing you found and left behind, looks an awful lot like an old walking stick or cane. Looks like it broke in two so it got dumped.
if you've ever walked along a river or creek, the overhanging branches are almost always home to spiders and their stringy webs. You'll have spiders in your hair everywhere else and not even realize it. Beau the vids are great and we all love them! keep the adventuring alive!
Thanks for all the great videos, I have always enjoyed poking around for antiques that are free but your videos have motivated me to check in a river that runs into our city. Keep the vids coming and dismiss the haters!
Chigg you are a magnet for those late afternoon storms for sure! Nice shell find, good research and looking forward to your return to this location! HH and thanks for sharing!
You're killin me! I would've kept that 'decorative piece' and the little screw too bottle. I know you can't haul everything out but some of the stuff you leave behind I absolute love. Oh well, treasure for someone else to find. 😊
Love the bottle and of course I'm glad you were able to bring home a shell. , Most of what you showed us I could identify before you said what they were and that's thanks to you. It's impossible not to learn something when watching your videos.
@12:11 as he says "hang in there with me" while pointing at his little buddy dangling from his chin, I dam near died from laughing so hard. It was just too perfect!
we've been on a trip from denver to South dakota rosebud last two weeks and i 've never seen such big thunder storms ever with rain and hail and rainbows and blue pieces of sky in the same time it was just perfect!! and the country .. just beautifull , you really are blessed with your hobby out there in nature, greetings from the Netherlands
I finally found my first civil war artillery shell yesterday. I have been detecting for 3 years now, but my shell was a surface find. I love your videos and you are the reason that I started hunting.
the large key looking thing is a ornament grate shaker for a large wood burning stove had one when I was growing up for our antique wood stove you slide it in a hole in front of stove and turn it left and right it moves the burning grate up or down wich let's the ashes fall down in the bottom pan of your stove ! cool find !
On this day in the monocacy River I found 26 modern cents two fishing lures and several bottle caps (corona and modelo) plus a few 70s era pull tabs. Not much else. You win this time sir
At the 2 minute mark, you picked up a white ceramic item - it's the top off a "flippy" style bottle, minus the rubber stopper and bail. I still use them for home-brewing. :-)
That glass/ceramic thing that you found after the lead filled thing in the beginning looks like a flip top beer bottle cap. The wire bail probably rusted away and the rubber gasket is gone.
At 2:00 The thing you counted as "has something to do with electricity" are the remains of a clip-lock off of a bottle. The clip and the gasket have rotted away and the porcelain stopper remains.
Hey Beau, I thought you were going to do a giveaway on the Garrett Ace 400, what ever happened about that? Good hunt but short because of the storm. I can't wait for "MOAR".
Get yourself a poncho and use it! Because there's one thing in common with a lot of your fantastically interesting video's is that rain is always in the neighborhood, here in my part of the world its the mere act of thinking of having a BBQ and then it starts to rain.
I'd love to come digging with you sometime, haha. I think I'm relatively local (10 miles from Antietam BF). I struggle finding civil war sites to dig. Yet to find any civil war items, but I did find a 1773 half penny!
he man just saw some of your video very interesting , where are you located at that ya find civil war pieces, im over in pa 5 mins away from brandywine river and am trying to start some trips down there to find that river gold
RE: The hatchet head you found at the beginning- its what we call a "roofing hatchet"Typically, the older ones have a hexagonal or octagonal sides of the head. In my area the old Mason Jar tops are selling for $1 - $5 each, depending on how "snooty" the antique store is.
I'm pretty sure that the decorative cast-iron piece is from a cemetery to Mark the grave of a member of the order of the Odd Fellows I recall seeing very similar cast iron pieces stuck into the ground by the Headstones of Odd Fellow members when I was touring historic cemeteries out on Long Island New York
I'd like to know that also,I have no idea where to pick one of those up? not sure but it could be homemade, I'm sure there out there somewhere but I would like to have one
Yeah his looks to be strong and you would want a strong one,if you just ordered one without being able to test it you'd be getting a pig in a poke, you wouldn't know if it was weak or strong and you'd want to know
+Dan Romano he will wait till the owner confirms it's him. then he will give the item to he/she. if no one contacts him he will still keep it, never sell it.
My mother-in-law collects the lids for the old mason jars. Most of the time the glass liner is broken. Not really valuable I don't think but she uses them to keep with her jar collection
@12.09 "hang in there with me" points at little dangler in his beard.
i wanted to say that lmao its at 4:54
these videos do great to wind down and watch after a long day at work. thanks for bringing consistent entertainment that also is quite educational.

Awesome video Beau!Thats crazy that you found a phone in a river like that! Also that was an awesome artillery shell!👍

Another fantastic video. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us all.
I'm glad I found your channel. I love nature and just checking out the cool pieces of history you find.
You're killin me! I would've kept that 'decorative piece' and the little screw too bottle. I know you can't haul everything out but some of the stuff you leave behind I absolute love. Oh well, treasure for someone else to find. 😊
Screw top***

Good vid Chigg. Congrats on over 400,000 subscribers!! Keep up the good work. GL&HH
lol I only seen the beard spider once, nice finds what a fun day that is thanks!
@12:11 as he says "hang in there with me" while pointing at his little buddy dangling from his chin, I dam near died from laughing so hard. It was just too perfect!
Chigg.....It consistently amazes me on how good your eyes are! When you say, "can you see it"? I say, No, Chiggs, no, I can't see it... HA

2:03 its a beer/wine bottle stopper. I've found some and they usually have the date on the bottom of the smaller end. +Aquachigger
Congrats on finding a shell among all that trash. You need to go back there. I think that site has some potential. GL&HH
4:20
The iron spike you´ve found may be a civil war tent peg.
We´re using really simliar ones at our reenactments.
Another great river hunt. Thanks for sharing. GL&HH
Hey Beau, nuggetnoggin collects those ceramic Mason jar lid inserts.
Always a pleasure to watch your videos
11:02 somethings holding on by a thread that's for sure xD "scratches chin" 12:10 oh its hanging 13:27 is he doing it on purpose?
I am so happy to see you metal detecting!
12:11 he says hang in there with me and points at the little dangling thing on his beard
at 2:04 part of a vintage bottle stopper...the porcelain stopper part and the metal probably rusted away.
Thanks for the interesting & relaxing videos. At about 2:26 there was 2 or3 very neat row of stone, could you tell what it might be?
Very smart move Beau, I had to watch the video twice to listen to you. The first time I was chasing the beard bug like a cat chasing a laser.
On this day in the monocacy River I found 26 modern cents two fishing lures and several bottle caps (corona and modelo) plus a few 70s era pull tabs. Not much else. You win this time sir
Two fishing lures. Pretty good!! Two or three weeks ago, my boys and I found some fools gold in a river.
Every video better than the last! Great job!
Chigg, at 2:02 that "thing" you found is a porcelain bottle stopper. 1875 to 1920.
4:31 that's a stove poker👍love your videos ☀️
Nice shell, and it's always fun to get wet from the sky and the river, ain't it :)
Tremendous finds there Beau.
I think that forged hook was for pulling off pots from a fire.
Well Chig, you gotta be the cleanest treasure hunter in the US of A.
at 7:01, that might be one of those carpet spanker things they used to beat the dust out of carpet on a clothes line.
At the 2 minute mark, you picked up a white ceramic item - it's the top off a "flippy" style bottle, minus the rubber stopper and bail. I still use them for home-brewing. :-)
Gives new meaning when Chigg says, "Hang with me..." :D
You are the new most interesting man in the world chig lol
That glass/ceramic thing that you found after the lead filled thing in the beginning looks like a flip top beer bottle cap. The wire bail probably rusted away and the rubber gasket is gone.
Congrats on reaching 400,000 subs!!!
At 2:00
The thing you counted as "has something to do with electricity" are the remains of a clip-lock off of a bottle. The clip and the gasket have rotted away and the porcelain stopper remains.
Beard Spider!!!
Cootie !
7:00 well i think you found the town's clock key depending on were you are also you err got a lil dead bug or fly in yer breed there
loving your videos man! keep up the good work!:)
Miller high life. I used to drink that when I was a kid 🍺. Lol. Damn. Beaver piss.
Good video Beau
That little hammer you found was a small tent mallet used in civil war camps
@ 7:05 wasn't that the binding pin for a cart ?
great video again,,, thsnks
having ocd and seeing that on his beard is driving me CRAZY
The beard Dingle Berry!
8:40 I think that's some kind of cane for walking. Maybe. I'm probably wrong.
400k just around the corner, thanks for the quality entertainment :D
you should put a link to your patreon in the videos descriptions and at the end of each videos before the thanks, i had no idea you had one
Hey Beau, I thought you were going to do a giveaway on the Garrett Ace 400, what ever happened about that? Good hunt but short because of the storm. I can't wait for "MOAR".
@ 2:26 those rocks looked lined up in a path or something.
Hey Aquachigger can you please do a video about you digging an old bottle dump or looking for bottles in the river. I'm really into bottles right now!
***** Press on the link in my previous comment.
Get yourself a poncho and use it! Because there's one thing in common with a lot of your fantastically interesting video's is that rain is always in the neighborhood, here in my part of the world its the mere act of thinking of having a BBQ and then it starts to rain.
That "small hatchet" was a lathe hammer, used to cut lathe for walls for plastering chop it to length then use the hammer edge for nailing!
Fine video) Good luck & happy hunting
Debris hanging off Chig's goatee though. LOL
I'd love to come digging with you sometime, haha. I think I'm relatively local (10 miles from Antietam BF). I struggle finding civil war sites to dig. Yet to find any civil war items, but I did find a 1773 half penny!

The AT Max was acting up? What was it doing wrong? I have pre-ordered one, but not yet received it.
Looked through some of the comments but didn't see, what'd the shell wind up being? (Parrott, Read, Union, Confederate?)
this is just awsome I watch all you can record. I live in central Italy and would like to detect here but don't think we are allowed to.
Another nice shell! :)
I'm on Aquachigger's video Marathon.. 😁😁😁
Sarah, that's funny. I was just thinking the same thing.
Great hunt !
I need to get a go pro should I get one for my bmx

Finally Metal detecting :DDD
at 2:28 the rocks are in a straight line. take a look
That little thing after weight y found looked like the top off a old scrumpy jack bottle and I mean a really old one
the "electrical" thing at the beginning is a stopper from a swing stopper type bottle like Grolsch beer.
Aqua sound a lot like Bob Ross.
Agreed
A bit like Owen Wilson too maybe.
Beau has a spider that lives in a happy place on the end of one of his whiskers.
Hey Bob Ross rocks and is very much missed,he's one of those folks that if you just listened to him and we're having a bad day he could pick you up
Iove his way to speak.
2:04 flip top from a bottle?
2.03 looks like a flip top bottle lid.
your right that is for sure
Where can I get a magnet just like yours Aquachigger?
I'd like to know that also,I have no idea where to pick one of those up? not sure but it could be homemade, I'm sure there out there somewhere but I would like to have one
Yeah his looks to be strong and you would want a strong one,if you just ordered one without being able to test it you'd be getting a pig in a poke, you wouldn't know if it was weak or strong and you'd want to know
So true. We are waiting to hear from you Aquachigger.
do u sell go pros you find I make a few videos but I am looking to buy a better more manageable camera. thank you
Be thankful for the rain....it washed away the dingleberry. :)
Just getting started was wondering how you get the history info on you sites
It's all online.
8:40 is it a peg leg?
Love the videos! How do you clean up your finds like the Civil War shells or the horseshoes?
the little thing you said was for electricity looks like a bottle stopper for a blob top bottle
Do you know any good places in western NC to hunt?
Nice job ,what kind of pick is that?
but what dead thing was in the black bag from a few days ago?
Nobody knows, rumors has it, Ricky was the one inside the bag!
He must be very small if he's in that bag
It's little Ricky.
great Video as always
What do you do with all the phones and cameras that never return to owners? Thanks!
He will KEEP them
OR sell them
+Dan Romano he will wait till the owner confirms it's him. then he will give the item to he/she.
if no one contacts him he will still keep it, never sell it.
My mother-in-law collects the lids for the old mason jars. Most of the time the glass liner is broken. Not really valuable I don't think but she uses them to keep with her jar collection
