Kev Nguyen Isn't that what every team does every single down? Try to deceive the other team into making a wrong move so they can get another 10 yards or TD? I mean they aren't announcing what plays they are running to the other team for a reason.

I watched this entire video waiting to see the most disrespectful display of unsportsmanlike conduct to ever grace the field of play and it wasn't there... UGA v. Florida. 2007... Georgia in the red zone knocking on the door. Matthew Stafford hands off to Knowshon Moreno who makes a leaping dive into the endzone for 6... The entire Georgia team rushes the field and rallies around the 11 active players and dances around them in celebration. THAT... was by far the most unsportsmanlike penalty in the history of the league... I'd venture to say in the history of the sport. I want my 14 minutes back.

+dennis n just a question, is it not allowed to do a tuchdown celebration like in football (or soccer if you like) when you do a goal celebration? I'm not very into American football and i just want to know, can someone answer me because if you are not allowed to be happy after a touchdown, i think it's pure bullshit...
Perhaps because the "deception" occurs prior to the snap of the football. All the others that you have mentioned occur AFTER the ball has been snapped.
good point, but there's still deception that occurs prior to the snap that isn't called a unsportsmanlike conduct. for example, i remember seeing one college play (i think it was michigan state) where the offense lined up like they were running a normal play, but before the snap, they had everyone run off the field and had their special teams run out onto the field, but actually what happened was that only 10 people "traded' positions instead of 11, and one wide receiver stayed in-bounds, and they ran a fake field goal and threw to the wide open receiver (because no one on the defense knew he was even there, they thought he ran off the field)
ImaginaryHuman072889 If you're talking about the michigan game against rutgers, they were actually penalized for that because that's considered a simulated replacement of a player in order to confuse an opponent. Deception prior to the snap that is legal would be like a fake spike, where the qb is making the spike motion and then throws a pass instead of spiking the ball. Georgia tech got away with the fake substitution on a field goal against clemson.
I don't like taunting in the game and don't have any problem with those getting an unsportsmanlike conduct. But hugging the mascot? Spiking the ball after a tough run out of bounds? High-fiving a couple people in the stands? Good grief, NCAA.
gtlip whats wrong about bragging? giving yourself a pat on your back? being in the heat of the momment. its probably ok for some old gimp to talk shit when you no nothing of sport.
Indeed some of them are bad because they are not bad taunts. But some of them would get you a warning besides in the NFL. You gotta do what you gotta do I guess to keep control of the game like it or not.
I think unsportsmanlike calls should be limited to taunting or fighting, yelling at refs, or anything that disrupts the progress of the game (throwing the ball to the stands, long celebration, etc.) It's stupid to penalize players who are excited they made a big play.
It's probley just another thing being pushed by mammby pammby bleeding heart liberals. The same people who say everybody gets a trophy and let's biological men compete in and dominate female sports
Well now it is 2021 and the brakes have been taken off the wheels for penalties like this and "Wonderwhy" is right. Football at all levels has become a ZOO. All of the false bravado and bs "celebrations" when they act like at every play they have just single handedly won the superbowl. And some dare to call them warriors! Walk in my shoes and I will show you what a warrior is. They put themselves in harm's way to protect you and me from danger and protect out freedom. A real warrior does not protect a QB or a football.
I don't get how diving into the end zone is "unsportsmanlike conduct". I mean if there are people behind you really close trying to tackle you, I'd jump into the end zone too. It shouldn't be a penalty for not wanting to get slammed in the back.
it was the spike right after that... spiking is completely illegal in college football. just is one of those written in rules that they can't throw the ball it is stupid but if its directly written in and is not just an opinion call its going to be called no matter what. as i finished the video... that dive... ok yeah well it was the way he dived i guess.. the huge arc he had to it but it is a big bs the guy was right there
The purpose of these penalties is to maintain the "amateur" myth of Division I football. They're trying to teach the boys character, etc... Complete nonsense for NFL farm teams.
You can, you just cant be passionate about it in any way cause then it's "taunting". SO stupid. God forbid you be passionate and have intensity and celebrate a huge play.
Some of these calls are just BS. Flipping or diving into the end zone…Spinning the ball…Flexing…Hugging the mascot. Give me a break. Great video. Thanks for the work putting this together.
To all the people complaining about the officials flagging the plays, those rules are voted on by the Coaches, and the officials just enforce those rules. So if you want to complain, complain to the COACHES who made those rules.
Intent to deceive is a legitimate foul but I have seen some truly ridiculous calls in my day. We had a player get an "unnecessary roughness" penalty for hitting a guy too hard. Our LB stepped up and rocked an OL coming to block him at the point of attack (not away from the ball or behind it but at the hole). OL buckled and no gain on the play. Suddenly we see a flag from the white hat who said our guy didn't need to hit the lineman "that hard". WTF? We were getting beat up pretty good in the game and WE get tagged for an unnecessary roughness call on a legit play? Crazy. BTW - the white hat was an insurance guy.
This is one of the reasons I don't watch the game I loved at one point. They can't have any fun any more. It's all business. When a NFL QB can play a whole season without getting hurt. You know there is something wrong! Look how long Tom Brady has played. No injuries.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct, Trying to Deceive. I thought the purpose of Deception Plays (like a fake to the fullback) were intended to make the defense think someone other than the ball carrier had the ball?
When I played ball we were told by our coach to drop the ball after we crossed the goal line and run back to the extra point huddle. I have friends who are coaches who tell me it's hard to get their players to practice plays as they want to practice their touchdown "moves" instead. It's all about show rather than performance these days. It's alright to call the round like Muhammad Ali if you can back up your words like he did.
From the contents of this video, I can say that having emotions is unsportsmanlike.
Accurate & I agree. It’s like gotta hold it ‘til you get to the bench then can celebrate haha
Good lord. Heaven forbid a player hug it out with the team mascot after a touchdown.
What's wrong with that? If it was a cheerleader, then okay, it's a penalty. The mascot is kind of a non-person.
The BYU v. Air Force one was the PERFECT trick play why is that a dang unsportsmanlike conduct!!!
the ref said trying to deceive
Kev Nguyen Isn't that what every team does every single down? Try to deceive the other team into making a wrong move so they can get another 10 yards or TD? I mean they aren't announcing what plays they are running to the other team for a reason.

+dennis n like in 6:30 i can't see why he could not do a touchdown celebration?
Dennis Svensson No, just college football. In the NFL they're less strict. The only thing you can't do in the NFL is taunt in somebody's face.
"trying to deceive" is unsportsmanlike conduct? LOL then how is every fake field goal, fake punt, fake handoff, etc. not unsportsmanlike conduct?
god forbid they be allowed to have a little creativity in their plays, right?
Most of this game is making the opposing team think you are going to do something you're not. That's every play! Am I missing something here?
Some of these calls are SO FUCKING BAD.
Yea one guy all he did was toss the ball
Replacement Referees, look it up...
+Thisizmyname Trying to trick? TRYING TO FUCKING TRICK?
Some of those calls were bs it was just the energy they had
I don't like taunting in the game and don't have any problem with those getting an unsportsmanlike conduct. But hugging the mascot? Spiking the ball after a tough run out of bounds? High-fiving a couple people in the stands? Good grief, NCAA.
Man, some of these penalties are real petty.
So basically, you can't celebrate for winning...
Sometimes they can go too far, but most of these were alright, well, in my mind, such as the mascot clip.
gtlip whats wrong about bragging? giving yourself a pat on your back? being in the heat of the momment. its probably ok for some old gimp to talk shit when you no nothing of sport.
Gtlip shut up u loser
gtlip dude let them have there own opinions and stop being racist.
man could you imagine if they made that a rule in European football??
The SEC has been very tight on any celebrations.
As they should be.
being happy in the endzone 15 yard penalty >.
*FLAG*
Foul on #BaconBanana , displaying an excessive amount of truth through sarcasm; 10 yard penalty, still first down.
lol
Sith Lord Palpatine hahaha I actually laughed out loud.
These calls are ridiculous
+LT1HILLINGHOE I think they are violating their freedom of speech.
Let the players have a little fun for Christ sake
Man, what a bunch of "ticky-tack" calls!
Some of those calls were BUUUUULLLLSHIT.
tell em bunky from the wire!
yes😏😏😏😏
Indeed some of them are bad because they are not bad taunts. But some of them would get you a warning besides in the NFL. You gotta do what you gotta do I guess to keep control of the game like it or not.

Junkman2000 *ALL of the calls
I think unsportsmanlike calls should be limited to taunting or fighting, yelling at refs, or anything that disrupts the progress of the game (throwing the ball to the stands, long celebration, etc.) It's stupid to penalize players who are excited they made a big play.
Agreed..but after watching what R. Incognito and N. Suh have been showing a bad role model to kids, I know I am wrong. Do you?
Not so sure. If a line is not drawn & enforced these games will look like zoo animals.
Even football players should be able to contain themselves and maintain decorum.
"...Even if it's third class, have some class"
I need to remember that one.
its football not thugball !!!!
"Unsportsmanlike Conduct, People in the stands were cheering & clapping"....Geeze, that's what its come down to.
I don't get how diving into the end zone is "unsportsmanlike conduct". I mean if there are people behind you really close trying to tackle you, I'd jump into the end zone too. It shouldn't be a penalty for not wanting to get slammed in the back.
SomeRandomDoctor Totally agree.
it was the spike right after that... spiking is completely illegal in college football. just is one of those written in rules that they can't throw the ball it is stupid but if its directly written in and is not just an opinion call its going to be called no matter what. as i finished the video... that dive... ok yeah well it was the way he dived i guess.. the huge arc he had to it but it is a big bs the guy was right there
The second to last dive could be construed as the player being unsure of his surroundings and diving to ensure he made it in.
if you score, don't celebrate start crying..if you tackle someone don't celebrate say I'm sorry.
The purpose of these penalties is to maintain the "amateur" myth of Division I football. They're trying to teach the boys character, etc... Complete nonsense for NFL farm teams.
I miss the early 90’s! When players take off their helmets and celebrate
Have of these calls are BS, let the guys play the game
That is just about what I was gonna say. . .
*half
Yeah I meant half, as soon as I posted it I was thinking dammit now I look stupid
Strickland50 i cant remember how many time that happened to me
Ty seligman *times
;-)
God forbid that the players have any fun.
Being a Purdue fan we celebrate every TD regardless of penalities!!! It could be our last 🤣😪
#17 was impressive! At least he followed the in-bound rules.
some of this was bull,,they are kids just having fun,
***** Yeah most those 'unsportsmanlike' calls were way tooo ticky tacky. If it was the NFL most of them would not have been called
These calls were flat out ridiculous!
so r u not allowed to celebrate in college football
Cuz most of the time they taunt the other team so they want to teach them how to act and be respectful cuz they still kids they aren't pros
it depends on how you do it
Okay that's pretty reasonable, but is hugging your mascot or high-fiving your fans really considered taunting?
You can, you just cant be passionate about it in any way cause then it's "taunting". SO stupid. God forbid you be passionate and have intensity and celebrate a huge play.
They have to prepare them for the (N)o (F)un (L)eague.
Fuck off.
At this rate if you look at someone you tackle you get a two or more plenty
I don't understand how these are plenty to be honest
+God If that's your pic you truly are a goddess.
Waiting for the refs to say "After the play unsportsmanlike conduct for smiling and showing emotion that results in automatic disscualification "
#19 was Aaron Hernandez which brought back a few memories.
Penalty.... #21.... offense.... farting while running the ball. (yes that's about how dumb 90% of these calls are.... give me a fkn' break....)
😂farting while running
"Have class, even if its 3rd class, have class." I love and respect Lou.
The hugging the mascot one is stupid...the pylon putt putt was hilarious😂
Football nowadays is so fucking babied. Can't even celebrate a touchdown without someone getting butthurt.
I agree... but I stand by the rules of college football. Great plays, but there isn't a excuse to act like a pissed off ape after a catch/tackle.
Jeb Voorhees
No, but some of these things are ridiculous and laughable. You can't fucking hug the mascot? Like, come on.
Scarecrow545
Yeah, that was ridiculous. There's a difference between obnoxious celebration and honest reaction
The celebrations seem so low class and third world.
So you can't celebrate or be happy to finish a play.
It's enforcing the rules to tightly at the college level that makes the NFL players so well behaved when they turn pro oh wait
Giving you a "LIKE" based on the FIRST CLIP: GATORS Vs. Vandy!!! Great Post! Thanx!
So, this is where that everyone is a winner BS started and everyone gets a trophy at the end of the season crap.
This is one of the reasons I don't watch the game I loved at one point. They can't have any fun any more. It's all business. When a NFL QB can play a whole season without getting hurt. You know there is something wrong! Look how long Tom Brady has played. No injuries.
what's really sad is, watching a game wanting to see people get seriously hurt.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct, Trying to Deceive. I thought the purpose of Deception Plays (like a fake to the fullback) were intended to make the defense think someone other than the ball carrier had the ball?
At 9:50 did the guy get a penalty for spinning the ball
Yes!
That's sad
When I played ball we were told by our coach to drop the ball after we crossed the goal line and run back to the extra point huddle. I have friends who are coaches who tell me it's hard to get their players to practice plays as they want to practice their touchdown "moves" instead. It's all about show rather than performance these days. It's alright to call the round like Muhammad Ali if you can back up your words like he did.
yes he did jaymee guess you can't claim white privilege like you wanted to
If I had gone to college I would have been in my junior year of college back then.
