Both of these projects are so damn good!!! I can’t stop playing You’re All Alone on repeat and ELUCID delivered on everything I love and expect from an ELUCID and that half of an AH album. Both are up there for AOTY for me
During a 40 day period called Lent in the catholicism you aren't supposed to eat meat on Fridays so people eat fish. Often times churches would have fish fry dinners on Fridays so that song is probably referencing that.
@@Bartholomule01 in the interview Elucid did with rap music plug podcast he mentions spending a lot of time with his grandparents and I I remember right the "must find fried fish it's Friday" was in connection to his grandfather specifically. I highly recommend listening to the interview. He goes into more detail about zigzagzig too
"Blood eagles in my dreams helped configure my wings" is a stand out lyric for me, if i wasnt such a morbid person i wouldnt know what he was referencing lmao but also on Astral Plain that fucking flow he did in the second verse "God guard me from the common copies Karma caught me, flight path Kamikaze Madame Blavatsky mysticism split the mist to prisms I’m in a prison press the scissors against the limbic systems" so fucking sick, sadistik is one of my goats
yo Myke the bassist you mentioned is Luke Stewart, who plays all over this record. He’s an incredible improvising musician who also plays with Moor Mother in Irreversible Entanglements
I love revelator! It's a very layered album and I feel like I get more from each listen. In regards to zigzagzig and the references to Palestine and police brutality with the "I didn't watch the video I felt it in my body" I believe that Elucid is juxtaposing the two. The systems of oppression are around the world and black and Palestinian peoples have had great solidarity in their liberation movements
G'day Myke, Great vid as always!!! I've been listening to the Elucid album for a while and LOVE it!!! I've always thought of Hush Puppies to have some form religious connotation with the fish on Friday but can't quite put my finger on it! I'm also still listening to the latest JPEGMAFIA album! Have an awesome day mate. **Edit*** looks like another commenter also made the religious link!!!!
hell yea! That Elucid album is incredible. I've only listened to it once, so I haven't fully digested it yet, but I was blown away by what I heard, and I already have the cassette in my collection. I also copped a shirt from Sadistik despite not hearing the album yet, but I know I'm gonna love it because the lead single was *boiling hot fire.* It has been a hectic year for me so I haven't been able to hear everything I want to as soon as I would like. The Sadistik album is definitely on the "priority" list though.
🙏🏻🌒
GREAT T-SHIRT!!
Is it Michael Jackson? I can't make it out
@@Hehxgdudh It's bjork
@@Hehxgdudh OMG. Hahaha!
This Sadistik album is easily my favorite of his since Haunted Gardens. Amazing stuff. Really like the ELUCID one too. He's getting better and better.
Elucid's album is probably my hip hop aoty. August Fanon on CCTV samples Gaza's "Gristle" and it blows my mind everytime.
Thanks for being one of the few that always show love to Sadistik
Elucid is one of one. Elucid, Mach-Hommy, Billy Woods and Rap Ferreira are like the leaders of this shit...
Been hyped to hear your thoughts on the Sadistik album. I loved it. Simple as that.
Fata Morgana is such a good track, that last verse is absolute fire

These two are ridiculous lyricists. Both of these projects rule
I really think this is Elucid's best!
Both these albums were some of the best of the year, especially Elucid’s, that might be his best project.
Loved both albums. Waiting for the vinyl from Sadistik
My Ninjas survive like a moving target. 🔥🔥🔥

Ah. I'm not super familiar with Catholicism from a dietary standpoint. But I wonder why he would be referencing that?

Was waiting for you to review Sadistik’s new project, been enjoying it myself as well…

Ah I like that. Thanks!
Man, this new Sadistik is fire. Really impressed with 60, cool video too. Does he gets props from rappers outside of the underground?
Lupe Fiasco named dropped him and said he studies his lyrics. That's a pretty damn impressive cosign.
The algorithms stink so bad... Somehow I missed uploads it sounds like! I fondled the bell so I don't get left out 😅
I'm shadowbanned!!!
Elucid has been putting out stuff since 2002 at least, check out Bible and the gun
