I did indeed find this video on my algorithm and since I wasn't able to leave I want to say great video very excited to play the Witcher 4, I started replaying Witcher 2-3 and I also just started reading the books for the first time yesterday
Really good video! I hardly know much about the witcher but my brother spoke to me about it and they way you explained it really really makes me interested in the fantasy!
Great summary. I will definitely need to repaly the whole trilogy again, but unsure of whether I should wait for the remake or not. Also, I think the video cuts to black too early, something happened during editing or rendering.
@@AJM_nerdcore according to the trailers, it's not bad, but I don't know anything until the game is released, because many veterans opened their studios and nothing interesting came out
My lord you should be doing audiobooks too, or at least get casted as the next Galadriel Any chance you could go over differences between the books and the games because methinks a lot of us aren't as well read as you are re: The Witcher books
@AJM_nerdcore I research spec ops alot and that's the best fit. Both Witchers and SAS(for example) candidates go through a gruelling selection process to see who's fight enough for the initial training... Or in a Witchers case the Trial of the grasses. Then if they survive that and most don't... (only 3 out of 10 kids survive) You go onto more training.
5:30 she can not cast signs. The whole point of the charactwr is that does not like her powers and wants to be a full witcher but she can not. Plus she renunced her powers well the a imity to draw from then, but she can travel between worlds. I am a bit dissapoimted that cdpr went wit the full witcher schtick for the new game.
Of course I think I said she learned the signs but I'll watch it back because if I said she cast them then that's an error on my part. Geralt did try to teach her before while at Kaer Morhen but she couldn't do it. While she lived with Yen at Ellander she learn some spells that were more powerful than signs which is what I was trying to get at however during her time in the desert in ToC she relinquished her magical gift. It could have been as simple as a mental block or she might have somehow gave up her magical abilities for good, but I think it's more likely that she just put up a mental block and with some help from Yen can unblock it and gain those abilities back.
The games aren't canon to the books, they can make whatever choices they choose to. I never heard people complaining about the retcon of reviving Geralt back to life to create these games...
I really hope that the Witcher 4 trailer is just a marketing stunt and they did not get it this wrong. 90% of players are male , lore fans would not mind playing as original Ciri who was cool elder blood child . Now playing as some sort of Ciri adopting masculine traits is plain stupid and I for once would not play the game .
@ it is a little bit like this: imagine there was a successful game about princess and in the sequel of that game they decided to do it about male character who acts like a princess instead of just doing a game about a prince. You ask what masculine traits ? Well let me think , violent , aggressive , physical fighting ,these are in nature masculine traits. Some of them Ciri maybe already had but now they made her a bit more physically intimidating ( with for example sign of mutations design to be a better killer or having lower voice and being bit more bulky )
I'm actually excited about The Witcher 4, and Ciri as the protagonist. Great video, BTW.
Me too! I felt like Witcher 3 set it up perfectly for her

Witchers are essentially special forces soldiers who hunt monsters

I have to ask: what masculine traits did Ciri show in that trailer (besides the ones she always had)?
