    Well done Guy, I had no idea it was such a difficult process or difficult species to get an egg sac from. Glad to have met you and Andrew Smith and had my photo taken with you both at the BTS exhibition a couple of weeks ago. I admire your work mate. Justin (Bedfordshire)

      Sorry to hear that. If it was easy - everyone would be doing it! I wouldn't claim to have cracked it, just was lucky.

      You've got nothing to lose by trying! They too are difficult to get to drop an eggsac too so use the same method as used here.

      @@bugsnstuff maybe your good friend Andrew Smith can help! I know they're probably the most hard to find Brachypelma.

    Been watching this a lot of times, thanks for sharing! :) I currently have B. hamorii with an egg sac and the temp is around 31C. Do you think I should lower it to 27-28 or will it be fine? Also, did you have a temperature difference between day and night? Should I turn of a heater during the night?

    • @bugsnstuff
      @bugsnstuff  Рік тому +1

      I'd keep the temps the same. No, I didn't have a night time drop or mine. Good luck!

      @@bugsnstuff Ok, so she dug herself out after 25 days and still didn't lay eggs. She went to drink some water, she's pretty fat and it looks like her abdomen is quite heavy. I am now thinking what to do, maybe it was too hot and dry for her to lay eggs so she was prolonging it until it "rained"? Do you have any suggestions? Should I sprinkle some water into her burrow to raise humidity a bit before she closes the entrance again or is it ok to be bone dry?
      I really thought she already made a sac since there was A LOT of digging and she covered her hole entrance with a pretty thick layer of substrate, but guess I'm not so lucky :) Current conditions are 28 C (both day and night), with a side mounted heater (since the room is around 23 c), substrate is bone dry except for a few centimeters around the water dish.

    • @bugsnstuff
      @bugsnstuff  Рік тому

      @@__Nikola__ Yes, I would add some water to the opposite end of her burrow to raise the humidity.

    Is the hamorri reclassified as the smithi?

    • @dankey3346
      @dankey3346 Рік тому

      No, Hamorii and Smithi are separate.
