That Toyota pink coolant is going to slip past your gaskets and leak .With the older engines you need to use Toyota red with distilled water. That's the jam I have on my 2jz

Haltech and it wasn't the tuners fault we're just idiots and didn't plasti gauge the rod bearings and he needed to hit limiter like that because we had asked for pops and bangs 😂😅

At this power level the DE makes this on a stock block and could prob go through 10 of them before a 1J swap. Rods go first on those motors. HR's can handle 500 reliably too. Dope ass swap though very different.

Was it showing good oil pressure the whole time or something
No it didn't end up being that. The issue was that our dumbasses didn't know to plasti gauge the new rod bearings. They must of been to tight and once they experienced being under pressure they spun but made is almost 500 miles on break in tune.

Edit. The ptsd doesn't go away. Every noise will drive you nuts... I seen a video of where a friend was tapping on the chassis while his mate stated it... it was the dreaded sound and dudes heart sunk.
😂seen that. It really is the worst feeling, especially after all those hours put in and money.

I don't get why everyone thinks these are so fragile. What u guys think drifting is? Banging of rev limiter.... these motors are bullet proof except when ur an idiot like we are and don't do the rob properly 😂
What was the cause of oil flow issue?
We did plasti gauge the rod bearings so they weren't the right size which caused them to spin and then all the metal shreds filled the oil filter therefore not allowing oil to feed back into the motor
Is it true vvti's have oil issues ?
Be aware those metal shards went through your entire engine/turbo/oil cooler. Hopefully you addressed this issue. If not you better can your oil a bunch at before going into boost
Yeah we thoroughly and properly cleaned everything and also got a new oil cooler. We appreciate that though homie 🙏
1JZ VVTI is non interference in stock form
So it didnt do that on the dyno? Whatd you do a couple Pulls After? Or is it the rev limmiter happy Tuner?
No was not the tuners fault what so ever he's a legend. We're just idiots and didn't plasti gauge the rod bearings 😅

Full bolt ons.. got sick and ,7 organs out later im still here and this was my goal 5 years later and still fighting (pancreatitis)..Allways wrenched and customized car's , but never cracked open a wankel lol 👍🏼not many shops here in n.h.

both 1 and 2 jzgte and 1 and 2 jzge (non vvti) are all non interference with stock cams. bigger cams make them interference.
We have a VVTi it's interference
@@StreetDreamzllc 1j vvti gte's are non interference. the only jz engine that is interference is the 2jzge vvti thats in the usdm is300s gs300s etc. if stock cams.

a 5 sec search will show you a video you are just too lazy to do yourself on your own engine to find out. i have been messing with jzs for long time man i can tell you 100% if its stock oem cams its non interference. all gte's were non interference and only the 2jzge vvti was interference do to the piston height for higher compression, which made it interference.
1J's are NON interference motors

a 430hp 1J is not "INSANE". A better title would be "run of the mill low power 1j blows up on the dyno because we're amateurs and pushed on a tired import motor"
