I’m not ashamed to admit, I got emotional over Punk’s return. He was my childhood hero, and as someone who was severely bullied in school, watching Punk’s documentary years ago, I related to his youth so much. To say the man has inspired and influenced me would be an understatement. I’m ecstatic for Punk, you could tell it meant a lot to him. For Punk fans, you should realize he also used Cult of Personality in ROH to signal the Summer of Punk. And it was also his Little League's baseball theme, it has a history for him and it's obviously what he wants~
You're missing out on a lot. Sure, it can be goofy at times (especially in the early days, some of the Dark Order bits), but it gives AEW fans a fresh look behind the scenes, some added stuff to certain storylines, and overall is a nice treat on Mondays!
CM Punk return literally destroyed Summerslam. Every match with the exception of Edge vs Rollins and Cena vs Reigns felt like the fire and passion wasn't there and the Becky Lynch and Lesnar returns only happened to get the fanbase up and apparently Brock was supposed to return in 2023 to face Roman at Wrestlemania again lol. Now those plans are done and Punk caused the show to look so disjointed and many of the future talent of WWE again got sacrificed for the old past their expiration date in Lesnar and Goldberg

You guys have to realize that Living Colour owns the song so that’s why he used it. WWE may have had him use it before, but it’s the bands call if they want him using it again, and he did. Just like if CM Punk were to want to use "This Fire" by Killswitch Engage (awesome band).

You're missing out on a lot. Sure, it can be goofy at times (especially in the early days, some of the Dark Order bits), but it gives AEW fans a fresh look behind the scenes, some added stuff to certain storylines, and overall is a nice treat on Mondays!

CM Punk return literally destroyed Summerslam. Every match with the exception of Edge vs Rollins and Cena vs Reigns felt like the fire and passion wasn't there and the Becky Lynch and Lesnar returns only happened to get the fanbase up and apparently Brock was supposed to return in 2023 to face Roman at Wrestlemania again lol. Now those plans are done and Punk caused the show to look so disjointed and many of the future talent of WWE again got sacrificed for the old past their expiration date in Lesnar and Goldberg

I gotta say. One thing I appreciate about AEW returns/debuts that outshines WWE is that their returns/debuts aren't just immediately a title picture storyline or a capture. CM Punk could have easily debuted and the story would be he gets title shot. Or wins the title.

Yeah, there's something really cool about Punk going after Darby first, and not one of the champs. It makes Darby feel like a big deal, because even in kayfabe the story is that Punk wants *him* and not just some belt he happens to be holding.

Punk is my favorite wrestler because of his in-ring work, mic skills, and being a Chicago native. For 7 years I was part of the people chanting CM Punk's name but thought he was never coming back, even when the rumors started weeks ago from SRS and Meltzer I thought it would never happen. But you made it happen. If AEW didn't exist he would've never wrestled again, and that would've sucked because he's had such an amazing influence on me as a person. So again, thank you so much for being the reason he came back and creating what is for me, the greatest pop and greatest wrestling moment of all time. AEW is what pro wrestling needed! 🤍

WWE used to care about wrestling and the fans and now Vince cares about profits and Makin deals for viewership but no one wants to view crappy generic people that can't wrestle or talk on a mic like a robot. I'll be honest I didn't know if Kenny Omega the young bucks Cody Rhodes Chris Jericho and Tony Khan could pull this off and they managed in less than three years to turn AEW from a start up company to a main event TV wrestling show to a Global Damn Company!!! They have essentially Kicked open the FORBIDDEN door and are working with Impact wrestling, New Japan Wrestling, Triple A Mexico and NWA and fans everywhere are winning, the wrestlers are winning and the company's are winning! CM Punk returning last night was the cherry on the cake of three years of sacrifice, creative freedom and a passion and a bloody love for wrestling.
