the true Manowar guitarist!!! he wrote all the good riffs manowar has. If you liked Manowar in your Youth, thank this Guy !!!
Indeed!! he has never been replaced!!
Definitely!
I`d say there`s plenty of good Manowar riffs not written by him
Post-Ross ManOWar is quite crap.
The only good thing about them after him is Eric. Best metal vocalist ever.
@@descendinguniverse666yes, Shankle on Triumph of Steel! Plenty of killer riffs! But of course nothing can mess with Shellshock, Metal Daze etc.
You will NEVER get another guitarist who embraces Blues, country, rock n roll, Metal and punk. Only one # rosstheboss
That Hail and Kill solo is a true masterpiece. Ross is the best guitar player Manowar ever had
I agree!
i guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know a method to get back into an instagram account?
I stupidly forgot the login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Colt Mark Instablaster ;)
@Jaxson Grady thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Jaxson Grady it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out!
Ross The Boss will be always be legendary for his shredding in Manowar. Now he is bringing that sound back. Love the new material.
As long as Ross isn't the vocalist...
Shell Shock...one of the most underrated ManoWar songs. Also resonates more with me now than when I was a kid. Im a disabled vet now, but I still feel the fires of metal, the will to power, and I still bend my environment to MY WILL!
Power!!!
I AGREE!!
@@sandorfintor Fellow Immortal!
I agree. The complete first side of their debut is simply perfect.
There's no charge for the haircut, and the bullet comes free
This guy is the personification of "dad metal" 😍
Ross is so cool and down to earth in person. Awesome dude
He's basically the opposite of Joey Demaio ahah
is it just me or does everyone in manowar just seem like that uncle everyone has thats just over the top
Yes
Exactly
I mean one of their guitarists was arrested for child porn so I guess they’re either over the top uncles or “that” uncle...
Aunt in Eric's case
@@benjimusicandgamimg9773
Which one?
He's digging way back to his Dictators days, then goes straight into Manowar. Good stuff!
My band Cyadine opened for him earlier this year in Detroit, MI. Really nice guy! He said we were one of the best local bands he’s heard in a long time, very honored to get that compliment from him
that's awesome Noah... wish you all the best for your band..
Could i get a link to check your band please?
That would be awesome!
MIZORAM - Mafaka Hnamte Thank you!! Appreciate it
Marie-Eve Blais ua-cam.com/video/9HfNv7lYACg/v-deo.html Here’s actually the exact show where we opened for him!
@@noahpolston sound really good, love you drummer !!!
I have watched this like 100 times. Big fan of Ross!!
Manowars music is the secret to lifting heavier weights
Dylan Morrissey hard fact
If he didn't party so hard his whole life he could still probably look like a barbarian in his old age.
Grey Sky I didn’t “party” my whole life . Did you ?
@@bosstheross Thanks for all your amazing work and for still keeping at it.
Looks like the only manowar dude who doesn’t lift
Awesome!! I love the Ross's years in Manowar
*plays Satisfaction and paint it black. „All that early Beatles stuff was amazing“ 😂
He does play a Beatles tune after saying that though.
Try to stay with us
his guitar tone is dope. plus, i've heard he's a super nice guy. thanks for the upload!
Yeah hè is, i spoke with him for half An hour, hè was realy nice, and have a autograph of him, and have a picture of me and him together, it was an amazing night see him playing, and to meet him!
Mr Ross the Boss Friedman;
For your legendary songs, legendary riffs, great creativity and contribution to music
All my respect from the heart
Member of a legendary metal band and legendary punk band. HUGE number of albums. Ross is The Boss. He's had this loose style, but I really enjoy it.
You forgot french band Shakin' Street.
I saw Manowar first time in 1994. I saw them last time on farewell tour. I miss them already.....I think Eric is still kicking ass and I wish they would reconsidered a post lockdown tour with old classics...
No Joey Demaio tour, since his ego ruined the band lately. Blasphemy I know but I'd see it. Rhino- Drums, Ross- Guitars, Eric-Vocals, Mike Lepond- Bass
The main riff in Secret of Steel is just incredible.
one of the best riffs by The Silver Thinkers: The 17 million ! DAMN it's EPIC !
Was gutted he didn't play it in the vid
Agreed. It’s the best.
Everything is incredibile in this song Guitar, Bass licks, Drums and ofcourse mighty vocal of Eric!
Other bands have long and illustrous careers without ever writing a song even close to the greatness of "Secret of Steel". Then you have Manowar's first four albums that are basically all time classics back to back to back.
Stripes of the tiger don't wash away, Manowar is made of steel not clay! 😂😎
EXACTLY!!!
Fruit
I can't believe nobody ever mentioned these guys to me. I heard Fighting the World for the first time only about a year ago. I considered myself a metal fan.... Wrong again grasshopper. Needless to say I've heard most of the music they put out to date now. Absolute beasts.
Man of all guys that could come appear on YT I would never expect to see Ross the Boss. In my heart he is IMMORTAL.
Kill With Power my favourite Manowar guitar solo. As for my favourite Manowar riff, hard to say, so many great riffs, Army of the Immortals has a majestic feel to it.
Ross The Boss is the Best!! Thank you for all the wonderful music you've played over the years 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Such a humble down to earth guy . Even though he's at least 50 percent responsible for Msnowars first 6 records . Other than Triumph of Steel . I'd say he was on all of Msnowars best albums .Ntm wrote for them .
I saw the Dictators last night and can confirm that Ross has the best guitar tone I’ve ever heard.
“I was the first guy to do this octave things”
cough cough Wes Montgomery cough
I would argue that Hendrix was the first time I heard octaves..in rock of course
radio mindchatter in rock I’m not 100% but I’d agree on Jimi.
Chet Atkins Humoresque
Actually Chad Kreogur was
@@ibrahimsmasood who is that?
i think "shell shock" is one of the best manowar songs ever. And i love them all.
Absolutely
He should be part of manowar again
Making new music. And more freedom then if he was in Manowar still. Cant wait till concerts come back. Seen Manowar and RTB band but still want to see Death dealer.
Can't unsee the snot getting closer and closer to his mouth
People will say what they want about this guy, but he helped pioneer not one, but two genres of music! Not many people in the world can say that.
Thank you Jesse , it’s an honor to play music !
Quorthon...
Yes, Jesse. Deeply rooted and took it to highest level in Punk and Metal. Sounding great these days he is !! Best to ya man.
@@tombenko Quorthon was so influenced by Manowar it's not even funny. Full on plagiarism almost on the song The Sword from Blood on Ice (Blood of My Enemies). Love both bands, Quorthon taking the Manowar influence into extreme metal and having most of the Viking Metal and much of the Black Metal genres having a Manowar influence without some people not even knowing it!
@@themadmattster9647
The messed up part is that Quorthon always blamed his drummer for being the Manowar fan.
He should have manned up and said he loved them. I do. That is. I Love the Ross The Boss era.
I wish Joey had done "Triumph of Steel" as a side project. Asking Ross to leave the band was a total dick move.
And my favorite drummer is still Scott Columbus.... so much that I built a kit in the Drums of Doom sizes, and bought the same ddrum triggering system Scott used, thanks to Dawk for telling me what they used.
Damn I wish Ross would rejoin manowar,it would be epic.A new manowar album with Ross in the band would be a dream come true.
Love hearing the old blues roots come out!....
What an absolute legend...
I spent every day after high school with battle hymns, manifest destiny, go girl crazy, hail to england and even that french band. i have never seen ross miss a note live. the bridge between everything that matters
Thanks Ross for your fantas6ic contributions to music! And by the way...l started out playing violin in 4th grade so l could get into band a year earlier and begin playing Alto Sax, which kept me busy for 10 + years!! Peace to all ....💜
Had the pleasure to meet and talk to Ross on a couple of occassions, and he's never been anything but affable and great to talk to. Takes time for his fans, is very appreciative of anyone who complements him or just wants to hang out, real down to earth guy. Just never, ever mention politics :D
Can only imagine how great Manowar could have been for a much longer time if only Joey could keep his ego in check. Same thing about their "twilight" tour circuit. It would have only been right to reach out to Ross to return for the final tour(s), as it would have closed the circle (what with Joey being so hung up on that symbology), but it seems Joey's too concerned with his egotistical macho-posture BS and silly swordfight re-enactments.
"It's called vibrato." Nice little jab there.
We opened for the Brain Surgeons in 05 in St. Louis they were going to bail on our set until Ross saw my crazy Fender Super Six Reverb amp and stuck around. What a nice guy and we had a great time.
Man, this guys's just got to get back in a f@ckin' rehearsal room again, with Joey, and write the best, THE most killer and epic metal record ever... he is on fire- in totally awesome musical shape these days! Gotta love this guy, man! He's got a style on HIS OWN- that's why NO ONE can play those Manowar tunes like HE does... I swear I don't know what he does with the chords, octaves or whatever... He just can't be covered or duplicated or be replaced... Keeping fingers crossed...!
Check out death dealers. His other band. New album coming soon. Conquered lands.
Ross does not need joey and never has . He's a beast. All hail ross
Bring the hammer down.
When will journalists like Eddie Trunk give Ross his due? He'd be a great interview after being an original member of Manowar and the Dictators.
No more guys with sword on the front cover ? That was the reason we bought Manowar LPs then !
But a hot lady with a sword......
"No more UGLY guy with a sword", he said ;)
I love this series so much! Keep em coming
Ross The Boss travels everywhere and brings the metal. Zero ego. All power. \m/
Shellshock fuxking rips. Now I'm a ranger not a stranger, and I live in Saigo. We got a team of special forces and we deliver napalm. He mentioned every single favourite manowar album. Battle Hymns, Into Glory Ride, Hail to England and Sign of The Hammer.
Ross The Boss Respect!! That handling those vibratos God !! Like seriously expensive Premium Wine...so good man
Its mid night and now I feel the urge to listen to Kings Of Metal very loud!
My neighbors are going to enjoy that!
Met this guy back in May, such a cool guy!
absolute legend, thanks for the music ross!
always loved this fella's playing in manowar, songs like" hatred " were killer. dave shankle was also good BUT i never liked karl logan and as it turned out he's a kiddie fiddler and he looks like rodney from only fools and horse's. this man ross the boss should never have left manowar - legend
Dude did you noticed that Rhino was the Drummer in the Band after Scott Columbus?
Karl Logan is a much better technician, but he's always been a hired gun and nothing more. For better or for worse, he barely contributed to composing the songs - and it shows. Although he spent four times as much time with the band as Ross the Boss did, with him they released only four new albums and one EP. Within the six years Ross spent with Manowar they released six albums - meaning that they were much more productive.
@@dime4ever546 hahahaha my mistake, i meant dave shankle - thanks for pointing it out, ive edited it now lol
@@Tigermaster1986 i agree that logan was probably better on a technical level, but that didnt mean much when it came to the actual songs and solo's etc. he was fast up and down the fretboard, but that kind of playing doesn;t sound good - ross the boss by comparison had brilliant solo's - hatred - defender - bridge of death - blow your speakers etc etc etc - much better
@@bignicksixty9ine everybody makes Mistakes and I have the same opinion like you!👍🏻
Ps: is that your guitar in the picture ?
It looks beautiful!
He was so damn good in the band.
Ross was simply the best guitarist of Manowar. Period.
i prefer the Rolling Stone cover of Paint it Black though.
Very funny
Nice fishing. I like to see the people who bite on comments like this.
And, indeed, for the full experience, I recommend The Rolling Stones' version. ;)
Great to see you play the Dictators material Ross.. can't get enough of your new sound man!
Dark Avenger, Each Dawn I Die, Secret Of Steel... some of the very best Manowar songs.
Let it be known that Ross the Boss's best guitar playing is on the Manitoba's Wild Kingdom album.
Saw Manowar when I was 17 at Hammersmith during the "Kings of Metal" tour. Came out partially deaf 4 the next 2 days 🤣. Needless 2 say, they kicked ass 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 Manowar aint Manowar without R.T.B 🫡
His solo in Defender(87) is amazing
Just listen to Defender from Fighting Fighting the world album. His guitar tone is unmatched...
the 83 version is the most epic though
Glad to see him shed some light on his history with the Dictators!
A true king of metal❕️
Dude is a LEGEND!! 🤘🤘
Got to see Ross the boss in Seattle right before everything got shut down. The whole band fucking killed it and im greatful that I got to meet one of my heroes and he was so nice to me and my girlfriend.
Ross the boss is a fucking legend...new album smokes
lovin this! the REAL KING OF METAL!
LEGEND BROTHER
Legendary Ross
The Dictators is the band I love this guy from!! Manowar was cool but "Who will save Rock and Roll??"
Its crazy to think after all thats happened over the years that it IS possible for there to Be an all Original member reunion of ManOwaR. To me just that thought is comforting. Of course i know it will never happen but its not impossible.
He is a badass
one of the best riffs by The Silver Thinkers: The 17 million ! DAMN it's EPIC !
@@keplerarpeggios3215
Chill on the self-hype, bro.
All hail the legend!
My band Bloody Times made an album with him last year. Really nice guy with his own influence and really nice to work with! He brings some nice classic heavy metal influence to the table! :)
Молодец! Manowar моя любимая группа! Manowar is my lovely heavy metal group!
*He looked slightly different on the album covers...*
He has to come back to manowar
Great musician
I just bought your latest cd brother on e-bay brother! God bless!
Real Rockn Roll soul!!!Respect🤘🤘🤘
Ross the Boss was always the main force behind the Golden Age of Manowar (1982-1988); too bad good old Joey got jealous; Nikki Sixx sure is an asshole, but he wasn't stupid, he'll be the first to tell you that Mick Mars is the reason why Motley Crue rocked hard as hell.
he is wayyyyyy into the 80's
Puber T. Snatches aren’t we all?
Ross The "Only " Boss !
Long live to you Ross! Hail And Kill!
I love the early Manowar records, got them all in vinyl. My favourite is Into glory ride
Abolutely right, their Best album and unfortunately the worst sound.
Sorry bro, love Ross, Every ManOwaR album cover has been amazing and exuded pure metal
What I love about Manowar is that they are the most 80s, cheesiest Metal Band you can possibly imagine but the Music is so incredibly awesome, that they somehow got a fucking huge audience. Amazing.
What i don't love about them? I think they are single handedly responsible for that annoying elitism in Metal with their "TRUE METAL" Bullshit.
Saw him live two years ago. Epic gig.
Manowar will always be my best pre-workout to get max pump in the gym.
Interesting expression when he's playing the Stones. 😂
Wow! That's f awesome!
these guys made me buy a pair of leather pants.
The rolling stones did paint it black
Was searching for this comment. I thought the same when he played "Paint it Black" and said "all that early Beatles stuff"
Was thinking the same but what I think he meant was the generation of the Beatles like the years of the band
one of the best riffs by The Silver Thinkers: The 17 million ! DAMN it's EPIC !
@@MartinElmo The video was cut that way, so maybe it was simply left out because of the cut.
It reminds me of my favorite Pearlgarden song, Smells Like the Man in the Box.
DFFD... greetings from an old Parkside Projects fan
Love the Boss Man...1st 5 Manowar albums say it all ...Hail and Kill!!...love Joey D As well
Wes Montgomery did it first the octave playing in the 40s and the 50s, then Hendrix maybe a bit, but Peter Frampton made it popular in the 70s(in the rock field)
Un grand guitariste au style très personnel, doublé d'un homme généreux et fidèle en amitié.
An excellent guitarist. Has such a clean sound with lots of punch. Not to mention he's intelligent, can play and discuss lots of genres, and has more to say than "true heavy metal, wimps and posers" blah-blah-blah. It was a huge mistake cutting him loose from Manowar. Aside from the singer, he gave the band its musical credibility.
The first riff sounds like Uriah Heep's the magician's birthday
Brilliant.👍👏💯
Fuckin A.... Thankful this popped up on my newsfeed!!!..... Besides being a HUGE manowar fan....we cant forget "Manitoba's wild kingdom.....and you?"...."NEW YORK NEW YORK".........
Reminds me exactly of my friend's dad.
