Okay okay. Disney plus, Hamilton. Play. Let's go for the 20th time. Man, everytime I think my hunger for it is over. I see something like this and just gets sucked back in.
Ditto, y'all.. I am straight up cranking "Nonstop" and that second cabinet battle IN MY CAR these days. I won't even talk about "The Reynolds Pamphlet"..
glkmee22 We have been watching every Friday night since July 3rd. Been obsessed since seeing Hamilton a few years ago. My poor husband watches with me and never complains. I think I memorized the soundtrack 3 years ago.
@@callioscope You want to know how bad it is for me? Here goes: I have UA-cam studied Alexander Hamilton, the Skyler sisters, Aaron Burr and his decendents, the events of the Revolutionary War, all of American history, Lafayette, Lauren's, and Mulligan, and more since I seen the play. I am taken over by the brilliance of this play in every aspect. But I legit have a problem. Like, I want my life back...lol. What the heck am I gonna do with all of this history I am flooding myself with? Lol. Seriously though, I need help. Oh, and did I mention I get flooded with images of the cast daily due to my search algorithm throughout my social media apps. So I go off examining their everyday lives and their personal journey in the arts. This has gotten ridiculous.
glkmee22 They just put a great documentary on UA-cam that aired on PBS. Hamilton’s America m.ua-cam.com/video/SDTmITgsye8/v-deo.html. I watched it the night we came home from the play and found a way to download it because until last month, it’s been gone from the Net. I think you will love it. I had my husband watch it with me a few weeks ago. It’s nice to meet an equally obsessed person. Don’t worry about it. There’s a plague happening. Isn’t it great to love something extra and know you can take your mind off the world for 2 hours and 40 minutes? I say revel in it. As far as obsessions go, there are far worse. 😁
Had the fortune to watch him live -- once (before Hamilton became the phenomenon) at Elsiefest where you could really see The Room Where It Happens deepen Burr's resentment, and another at a concert in a smaller venue where Dear Theodosia was just heart-piercing. LOj is electric.
I will always know his start with Hamilton, and I absolutely love him. Such an incredible person, with such an incredible story. I cannot wait to have the album!
The next thing is preservation. Of course you want to keep going. Of course you want to do more roles. Of course. But, there is also a responsibility now especially with awards to make sure what you’ve done gets showcased in the right light and gets preserved.
I watched SMASH! LOJ was great! The only reason the show didn't survive was that Megan Hilty was clearly the stronger performer than the show's protagonist, Katharine McPhee. So, it was hard to make a storyline out of the lesser performer getting the biggest starring roles. For example, the whole first season is about their competition to star as Marilyn Monroe in a new musical Bombshell, and McPhee ultimately won the role despite not deserving it... It was awkward.
Leslie Odom Jr. kinda ruined Hamilton for me, 'cause when I hear him singing with the voice of an angel side by side with Lin-Manuel Miranda, uh... let's say "doing his best" to croon out Dear Theodosia, I kinda can't help feeling that Miranda should've checked his ego and let someone else be the lead in his show.
He know the musical better than anyone else and has had years of experience creating songs and learning music theory, his voice is his and everyone has a different kind of accent while singing, some with a smooth voice and other with a more grainy face such as lins.
Sure. Except that Lin is undeniably enigmatic, in life and on stage. Not many performers can hold their own against the brilliant Leslie Odom Jr, especially in such an intricate, demanding role; other than his Hamilton cast-mates! Even then the other roles are more like a sprint compared to Lin and Leslie who are running a marathon (to use an analogy that doesn’t remotely do justice to the insane talent of the “sprinters”)! I’m just saying everyone in this is friggin exceptional and the variety of talent is what makes it so great.
I see what you mean, but from my point of view, Lin putting Leslie opposite himself shows a lack of ego. He's aware of his singing flaws but still cast this amazing voice that outshines his own because that was what was best for the show and put both bur and hamilton on another clash. The smooth voice vs the gritty one. Either way I loved it!
@@jerichopascua1777 I think it can be argues that the story is just as much a about Burr as it it's for Hamilton...both are the protagonist of the show and infact Leslie's part stands out from the others in many of the scenes because he is the narrator of the story.
No. That’s not true. We are connected because I studied at the university of Virginia from 2007 to 2010: withdrawing in the spring of 2009. So, I got into the college during the last two years of President Bush jr’s presidential term. I worked on Obama’s campaign for president and his re-election. So, the first time I was able to vote for president was as a student at uva designed by the nations third president Thomas jefferson and I was voting for the first black president. Obama came down to Charlottesville for a rally and so did marlon wayans and jurnee Smollett and so forth, but Michelle, Michelle actually came down to campus a couple of blocks from the lawn. I didn’t ge to hear her speak because I had a show in the drama building that same day as a dance minor. Anyways Obama wins. And he gets into office, and the next thing I know I’m being transferred to Washington, D.C. to study at Howard. I’m teaching dance and drama to kids in recreation centers over the summer using Beyoncé and Michelle’s let’s move initiative to combat childhood obesity which was really an extension of what I was doing in high school as a student advisory council working with the school board on issues like technology and school lunches to make sure kids have the food and resources they need to be as successful as possible. So, I’m studying at Howard, and then I go homeless. A lot of people would call that studying abroad or volunteering at homeless shelters, but my bank account said like 1300 dollars and I had no clue where I was going to sleep. I then got into touring and writing and all of that, studies some Econ and filed my first tax form as an independent. I’ve been filing taxes since 2007 because I was in school on financial aid and that was part of the requirement. But, around 2015, 2014, I actually had money from my profession as an actor that I officially stepped into but been training for my entire life around 2011, when I had my very first audition for a major motion picture film. And so, when I file my tax forms living in Virginia they get sent to Kentucky federally I believe and I think kentucky is where Leslie is from? But in between all of that I fucked a dude named deloreon who I saved in my phone as delishes, because I ate his ass before I fucked him, and around that time although I knew I was gay I was very hush hush dL trade because I didn’t want my sexuality or private lifestyle to be the forefront of who I was. I wanted my work to speak for itself. I didn’t want the people watching my content to be distracted by a rumor of me sleeping with this gay or having this family issues that they couldn’t see me as the character I was portraying on stage or in film.
He has one of the most beautifully soothing speaking voices.
I know, right!
i guess it's quite off topic but do anyone know of a good website to stream new tv shows online?
@Jad Rene Meh I'd suggest Flixportal. you can find it by googling :) -houston
@Houston Abraham Thanks, I signed up and it seems to work :D I really appreciate it!!
@Jad Rene no problem =)
He's one of the best, most well spoken person I've ever seen someone interview.
Leslie is so delightful. And his VOICE?! Heavenly.
When he says he doesnt remember a thing and i know every line he sings
i feel like Aaron Burr himself

He is magical. Polite sweet well spoken and beautiful ❤️💕
He is such a gracious man and has a beautifully smooth voice.

Got to see him with the Kansas City symphony Valentine's weekend this year. So great to see him live.
It is fire! He is brilliant and humble..we as a family Love..Love..Love him. Your music finds me and it is consistently fantastic..
I will always know his start with Hamilton, and I absolutely love him. Such an incredible person, with such an incredible story. I cannot wait to have the album!
I could listen to him read the Betty Crocker cookbook. It’s so smooth.
I first saw Odom in the Nationwide Insurance commercial... loved his voice, been a huge fan ever since!
Leslie is so handsome. All the best to him and his endeavors. Love him!!!
He looks so much younger than he did In 2015
What an elegant charming gentleman. Lovely
Handsome too!
He absolutely stole the show in Hamilton.
So soothing!
Damn if this dude could stop interrupting leslie, we might have a damn interview
"All right, Mr. Tony, Mr. Grammy."
I loved smash, and that's how I got introduced to Leslie and I loved him in it.
That whole "everybody's sick" comment hits differently in the time of corona
The two dislikes must have been from Alexander and Eliza Hamilton.
LMAOOOO
Or Burr's ex wives
Theodsia's first husband.
Oh, I just got it. Lol!!! Good one.
Third one from Jefferson
Leslie Odom jr. will forever be my favorite. I’m going to meet him, Cynthia, Lin Manuel Miranda, and more!!!
I really like Leslie's jacket.
14:35 “hey a leslie, everyone’s sick .” me in 2020: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣- 😲🤭 no cause i was actually weak until i remembered we’re in the middle of a pandemic 😔😭
Leslie: *leaves Nationwide for Farmers*
Hamilton: "No one knows who you are, or what you do!"
My husband and I loved Smash!

I hope I'm not the only person that ships Tom and Sam
Yes Hilty had the body sexiness to inhabit the role. I like McPhee but she was clearly too thin too tall and too reserved. So yeah awkward
I loved him in Smash. His singing of Let's Make Tomorrow Tonight is so beautiful.
I loved Smash!!! Why did no one watch 😩
Because people are lame.
I wanna be in that room
🎶 I wanna be in the room where it happens 🎶
Elvis! The Cheetah Girls! Tell me they’re disbanded 10 years ago!
I LOVE Smash. I watched it.
Smash was great. Bombshell should be on Broadway.
Totally random, but, what’s with all the bottles of hot sauce?
Yes, what is up with all the cholula?
2025 anyone??
okay how did u know😳
Why in the world did he do a lisp and heighten his voice for Hamifilm. I need answers.
Hamilton was supposed to be wardrobed and stage designed like rent.
