    Leslie Odom Jr. made Burr much more sympathetic than the historical figure.

    • @Kay_The_Coffee_Weirdo
      @Kay_The_Coffee_Weirdo 4 роки тому +38

      Burr's actual personality wasn't exactly like Burr in Hamilton, but he certainly wasn't a villain either like history wants us to believe.
      He was slandered and harassed relentlessly by Hamilton and the other Founding Fathers for his liberal minded veiws about gender and race equality. He stood even more solidly against slavery than Hamilton, and he called for an emancipation of slaves in 1800, a whole 65 years before Lincoln finally did in the Civil War. He treated Natives and women as equals. He married his wife for love, not money, and he made sure his daughter (his only surviving child) was as well educated as any other man's son.
      His poltics of representing the common man and minorities got him friends and enemies in all social groups, and made him seem as if he would contradict himself, wasn't ambitious, and as if he didn't have solid beliefs. But the truth was that Burr was very ambitious, just not for the same reasons that Hamilton was.
      He was really America's first lefitst poltician.
      Even though he strongly disliked Hamilton throughout the time they knew each other, most historians agree that he likely never intended to kill him when he challenged him to a duel. But rather Burr wanted to only scare or maime him.

      She originally played the character that was called “the bullet” or “death” if you watch the movie every time a character that’s about to die get touched by her and every time a gun was involved she was the one who played being the bullet that was just fired.

      Christen Ford you’re welcome hun. Not many people knew that there was a secret but important character in the show until Lin confirmed there was one and asked people to see if they could work out which character it was and what their actual role is? A lot of people who’d watched the show live was coming up with all different ideas but it wasn’t until it was turned into a movie and people who couldn’t watch it live worked out which character he was talking about, and they then confirmed that the character had two names “the bullet” and “death” it had been along conversation between fans over the years some people thinking that it was the guy who plays “Charles Lee” now because people can watch it over and over again they found it wasn’t him but Emmy’s character as like I said every character she comes into contact with all die not long afterwards. John Laurens being the first one after they kill a British Redcoat and shake hands after their double takedown giving her character its first name “death” And she saves Hamilton in the assassination attempt on his life by acting out the gunshot swerving the bullet making that her second character’s name “the bullet” she decides when it’s someone’s time to die. I think it’s pretty clever that Lin wrote a secret but important character into the show and a lot of people didn’t realize it until he brought it up on social media. It’s been funny to watch people’s theories and trying to work out who he was talking about over the years. I got to watch this show live on broadway with the original cast when it first opened. you couldn’t get tickets to save your life! It was sold out months in advance, but I’ve got a very well known cousin who’s in the entertainment industry and he got me tickets for my birthday and I went with him, his then wife and my husband to watch the show and I fell in love with it. It’s now my favorite musical ever taking over phantom of the opera. And all my children love the soundtrack and now the show because they can now see the song’s in the proper context. And my youngest set of twins (I’ve got six children two sets of twins my oldest two and youngest two!) who are six years old know every single word to all the songs especially Guns and Ships which they can do the rap almost as fast as Daveed does and you can still hear and understand every word that’s said. But our cat hates that song everytime she hears them opening drums she’s up and out the room faster than the flash. I think it’s because I terrorized with it year’s ago because she wakes you up like clockwork at 5:30am every morning for her breakfast and she head butts you hard in the face, she’s given me so many nose bleeds doing that. After the soundtrack was released everytime she got comfortable and went to sleep I started to play that song with these stupid hand moves and grab her and make her dance while singing it right in her face and it would p**s her off to no end that she started sleeping in place’s I couldn’t reach her and now she leaves the room everytime she hears that song and then returns when it’s over. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 x

      Christen Ford she’s nuts but we love her to bits. You’re absolutely right nothing beats watching shows live, the atmosphere is indescribable, I love watching shows live and I’m the same I can’t wait for this pandemic to be over and everything starts going back to normal. It’s ruined so many people’s lives. I’ve been lucky enough to still be able to work from home in my home studio. A lot of other’s aren’t as fortunate and lucky as us. And our children know that. They don’t need to be told to do something to try and help other’s, they just do it off their own back whether it be making food or sorting out/buying things for the homeless (we don’t live to far from the main strip in downtown LA. It’s about a 15 minute walk!) and going to hand it all out or just sitting there and talking to someone who just wants someone to talk too or to just listen. I’m so proud of my children. Me, my husband and cousin (who actually moved in with us at the beginning of lockdown so he wasn’t on his own because he’s not been able to see his children in person mainly because their mother is a controlling bitch! And I didn’t want him being on his own in his big house because of his anxiety and I knew my children especially the two youngest would keep him busy!) already did a lot before COVID 19 to help others in need. I’m glad that my children took note of that and go out almost everyday, always making sure that they’re fully protected and the youngest two sometimes goes with them. (I wouldn’t let them go when the riots were going on, we all took part in the peaceful protests but as soon as some moron threw the first rock at one of the store’s that was it, they wasn’t allowed downtown until all that tomfoolery stopped! I don’t see how trashing, stealing and burning your own city to the ground is helping get a message across that things need to change? Some of them only proved the police and government was right in some of the situations, and how does doing that help the families who want change? It doesn’t! People using someone’s murder as an excuse to get new clothes, television’s Etc... for free by stealing and using a movement to justify their behavior and actions. They just ruined it for everyone else who wanted to get their message across in the right way and so many people got seriously injured and hurt because of their actions and the police retaliation!) you’ll love the show live when you’re finally able to watch it next year. X
