Bzzzrrt!! Sneaky Blue. Man Lightning builds are so powerful - if you can get anyone to get hit by them. At least they look cool. While you’ve got this faith build up and about, some all-caster combo incantations could be fun. The crucible horns charge - if it lands - knocks an enemy upwards and allows for a set up into the dragon claw, which allows for a quick cast into the bite or Fortissax Spears. There’s also the classic Rock into lightning strike, endure into crucible tail then lightning glaive, and Greyoll’s roar as an insta AoE debuff. Lotsa fun to be had. Also had to rewind to make sure I actually witnessed what I witnessed. Enjoyed the saga! Catch ya on the next one!

It’s funny how, despite Chase seeming like one of the nicest guys ever; you can detect a distinct note of maliciousness in his voice every time he fights casters with a casting build. Revenge time lol.
a great little combo is honed bolt into lightning strike. they have the same casting animation, so they make for a pretty good mix up. If you cast a couple of honed bolts at one enemy and you chain the lightning strike, i'm pretty sure it's a reliable roll-catch.
Nice vid thanks Chase. Been looking for a pure lighting casting build since your last one almost a year ago. It seems to me that out of all the pure casting builds the Lightning variant seems to be the weakest. One reason I can think of why that is is that lighting spells only do pure damage and lack stun locking potential so a gang of players can still punish you to death while you're still in the mist of casting an AOE spell like FLS or ADLS. For that reason I found it essential to add Wrath of Gold in the spell slot since you need a reliable AOE spell that can get people off your back before they chain attack you to death.
Bullet Hell Mage. Combo Phalanx, Magic Glintblade's delay, Swift Glintstone Pebble, Star Shower, Night or regular Comet, and Rykard or Death's Rancor, create so many projectiles that enemies cannot dodge them all or dodge the wrong ones and die. I honestly think that given how these have different delays and travel time, there is a fair amount of learning the spell combos and skill expression to be had.
I cant tell if chase doesnt put losses in his vids or if he just doesnt lose much but its kinda refreshing to see him post an invasion he lost because the losses are very interesting also sometimes
@chasethebro free aim the ancient lighting storm and vary the release times on the charge. I'm also a big fan of lower level lightning build using the azurs staff in the right hand amd erdtree seal in left. Bonus points if you "true combo" r1 azurs cast fail animation into fortisax or lightning storm. Works even better if you dress like a wizard. Ppl assume you're not ready to play when they see the cast fail animation, charge, and then take one-shot lightning in the face.
The death was great. I'm a chronic invader as well and I already knew there's a few deaths behind every video. Its a part of the fun and keeps the community from rage quiting.
Seeing the castle sol invasions kind of makes me wish for an exclusive mode like arena but in blocked off map areas like that. It could basically just be Halo deathmatch.
Hey Chase, you should add a segment at the beginning of every video where you show what physick tears you're using on the build. If you have trouble remembering to change your physick for unique builds like this one, it might help you remember.
Something to try next time - Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike travels infinitely downward, even from the top of cliffs down to areas below. Give it a try!
It’s kind of interesting that Honed Bolt seems to have an AoE that its Weapon Art counter part doesn’t. A lot of ppl usually say that the weapon skill is just better but idk anymore.
Pure blood/thorn sorcery caster next? And then deathblight spells with two unupgraded eclipse curved swords to guarantee a deathblight proc before the raw damage kills your foe!
I get a lot more friendly fire incidents in ER than I did in DS3. I have a theory that because people rarely taunters tongue and therefore reds don't usually get to team up that some people who have never played souls PvP before ER don't know that more than 1 invader can be in an invasion. That or people really like to troll in ER lol
Lightning spells are may favorite spells to play with, but frozen lightning spear is alwas disappointing except for when it isn't and the stars align and it does massive damage
