@@MALICEM12 before I say this, I want it known that I 100% support freedom of speech. What you and the other guy have hit on is one of the fundamentally flawed assumptions of freedom of speech. The idea was that if everyone is allowed to say and advocate what they believed, then those ideas would be treated with rationality and dismissed or accepted on their merits. The problem is the presumption that most people are rational, or that they possess the critical thinking skills necessary to see the gaping flaws in thier own ideas. Humans are not even close to rational most of the time, so what actually ends up happening is our tribal nature reasserts itself and we'll accept any stupid idea on the basis of how it, or the person proposing it, makes us feel. That's how you get cults, or the likes of Marx and Hitler.
This would only makes sense if leftists advocated for transracialism and then complained about it. What counts as those "leftist contributions"? Universal Human Rights? The US Constitution, which was the first one? Defeat of absolute monarchies? Or maybe further ahead with LGBT rights, abortion rights and the end of segregation? Where exactly should we go back to the good old days to end this?.. oh wait, 17the century Russian monarch Peter the Great had an African godson, so you're gonna have to degrade even further than that.
@@perfectlyfine1675 They repeatedly framed the concept of identity as a social construct and thus not immutable or based in biology at all really which opened the floodgates to transracialism, that's how they created it. All those accomplishments you listed have nothing to do modern leftism and in fact are advocated for and protected by modern centrists and conservatives while the modern left undermines them, your fallacious conflation of good and leftist will find no purchase here. History is not some linear march towards a utopia as you frame it, each step forward is also a step backwards, E.G. We improved survival rates considerably but now natural selection can't do it's job and defects are piling up and becoming a massive resource black hole on society, just for one example fo the price of progress.
@@GodOfOrphans Very good point. A price of Universal Human Rights in modern democracies is the outsourcing of slave labor to developing countries, which keeps them poor. The US Constitution first of all isn't a specifically leftist document, although that depends on your definition of leftism. This is one of the MANY reasons I hate the term "left" and "right", since it presumes that both of us share an understanding of what political axis we're currently talking about, or assumes that there is only one axis to measure on. It's all so arbitrary. I would argue that the US constitution isn't politically left or right, since both the left and right advocate for Collective Rights instead of Individual Rights like the constitution was mostly founded upon. I say mostly, because of stuff like the 3/5 compromise and all that.
@@ognotapussyslayer5917 The Left/Right axis itself didn't really come into existence until after the founding of the US. It's derived from revolutionary France where the more revolutionary people sat on the literal left, moderates in the center, and supporters of the monarchy on the right, and that is basically where the entire left to right phrasing came from in the first place. The constitution was written long before the left right paradigm was even conceived, so trying to graft it onto that paradigm let alone trying to shoehorn it into the left wing quadrant specifically is extremely fallacious and that's without even getting into the years and years of evolution on the concept. Right and Left now mean very different things now than they do back then and it's still way too binary to adequately quantify something as abstract and multifaceted as political alignment. The political compass is severely and fundamanetally flawed but anyone who isn't at least using that instead of the far worse false dichotomy of pure right versus left can be pretty much be safely dissmissed as politically illiterate or in bad faith. Strongly disagree with outsourcing of slave labor being a product of/price to pay for democracy/representative republics though, that's more of a corporatist created demon. I'm hesitant to even say it's at least enabled by the democratic system as despite masses of ignorant consoomers who just want their thneeds and want them cheap, consequences be damned, there's a lot of other people who simply don't know about the problem and if they did know would be adamant at fixing it. Plus the outsourcing of labour means less jobs at home which is bad for everyone and was a massive issue for the past 2 presidential elections at least, and still is actually, and it is waking a lot of people up to the outsourcing of slave labour in the process. So it seems like the democratic process is at least trying to self correct that problem and is being stonewalled by corporate globalist corruption subverting the process. At least that's how I see it, but do feel free to elaborate how you came to your conclusion as I'm curious.
@@GodOfOrphans In antiquity labor was produced by the peasant class, and there was no reason to outsource labor since everybody who needed free labor essentially had enough of it to satisfy their needs. But Universal Human Rights, while being a good thing, allowed people to get a foothold outside of that compulsory labor, and with the benefits that provided they would NOT settle for anything less. So now there's a Shortage of Labor that needs to be filled for this to happen. Now you have a group of rich people and a group of non-rich people, with no way to put protections in place for the non-rich people. If you know your history, you know how this goes. It's not just that elites lobby to have the government not regulate outsourcing of work, although that is a big part of it, it's that even IF there were a law against this with absolutely zero loopholes, it would be trivial to just ignore it, because proving that a company is doing this is pretty damn hard unless the citizens of that country or the country itself cooperates with US or other country's authorities, which they have an incentive not to do because their economy basically relies on these companies to exploit them, however sad that may be. It's also worth mentioning that slave labor will always exist up until labor almost doesn't need to exist, because there are several categories of items that you simply can't produce in mass quantities without it. And the economy works via things being made in mass quantities, despite how long they last and if you're getting your bang for your buck. Consumers don't plan ahead. People still don't realize that they're essentially renting most of their items since they break regardless after 5 years. And even if they did plan ahead, it would not be profitable or sustainable for a large company to make quality products. And thus, this problem will never go away unless big businesses go away. And we *both* know that isn't going to happen.
"If you are a black person and are white passing, you ain't black". That is literally what I've been told my entire life as a half black person myself, but I can 100% pass as white. It made growing up in an all black family and community extremely hard. It's so frustrating to see the same people erasing my identity because of my skin color, also say that all gender identities are valid.
Now you know one of the reasons people where against race mixing in the past. Not just because "they're evil" but because what kind of life does that make for the children? Rootless and shunted out; an atomized individual that is rejected by both societies. Who would want that for their child?
@@MALICEM12 But that's why colorblindness is the right approach. I mean, if you go back a few centuries, many Western Europeans thought "the Lapps" were a separate and inferior race. During WWI many German-Americans were lynched. And the persecution Irish people faced is legendary. But nowadays the idea of someone of Anglo-Saxon heritage marrying someone from any of those groups is considered completely unremarkable. The same can happen for all "minority" racial/ethnic groups.
So I'm guessing the idea is if you agree with leftists you're an oppressed minority, and if you agree with the right on anything you're an oppressive colonist... What a stupid time to be alive.
I myself have experienced the weird "ejection" from my ethnic background. My dad is Indian, born there and came to the UK when he was a child. He looks Asian, his sisters are, my uncle is, my sisters both look asian, but I don't (my mum is white). I am white passing (although not when I was a child), I have experienced racism growing up and it sucks, but I have also had these types of people say I cannot know what it's like to be of a minority because I am white passing. I'm in the same boat. My mother is black, and raised my sister and I in a single parent home,(my dad who is Italian was never in the picture). I grew up entirely in a black community and family, however I was never really accepted due to my very pale skin. I disagree with your take on bigotry. I do not think you need any immutable characteristic for bigotry, nor do I think one need to actually belong an specific group to experience bigotry, because bigotry is based on perpetrators state of mind. Merriar-Webster defines "bigot" as: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (such as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance It is noticeably that in modern day west most common form of bigotry might be toward groups with immutable characteristic (like sexuality and ethnicity). But what do you call unreasonable hatred and prejudice against people with different religions or economic status? In Europe there have been numerous religious based persecutions. Religion isn't immutable characteristic, but what was heretic hunting other than religious bigotry? And if bigot is a person who hate certain group for unreasonable reasons, and bigotry is their actions based on their beliefs, I don't think bigotry goes away just because they misidentified person's characteristics. If one thinks black Africans are subhumans who deserves to die, them lynching a dark skinned person (with no recent African roots) is acting racist way, because their actions were motivated by bigoted beliefs.
I'd that the straight guy getting called the F Slur is homophobia, assuming it's the speakers intention. Like if the speaker assumed he was gay, and called him it, it's homophobic because he doesn't know that he's not speaking to a gay man. And intention is a big part of how we structure society.
10:10 I find this tweet ironic, because there are many people who now say that Asians (at least east Asians) "barely" count as an "actual POC" and have essentially become white or as close to it as you can get. In a very basic sense I think I can agree, there's a world of difference between being black and Asian or Latino and Asian on average. Your parents' income, level of education, culture, expectations are all different. The discrimination you receive is often very different. Which is why categorizing all POC as having "similar struggles" is a level of abstraction I don't like. My experience as the child of Hispanic immigrants is almost completely different compared to my girlfriend's experience as the child of Asian immigrants. We are both technically "2nd(?) generation POC" but I find almost nothing in common in that respect beyond surface-level things.
The issue with this argument is that “I think I am and there is no way to stop it” is the same argument that is used with eating disorders. Why is it allowable to cut someone’s penis off because that’s part of their treatment while it’s not ethical to give someone gastric bypass when they’re only 150lbs.
And if the progs have to fall back to a former position that everyone else holds(seen as how you described), that would show that the progs messed up. Most are way too proud to admit they were wrong. That is why things are progressing the way they are. Dev, you make so much sense than most here on UA-cam. I may not 100 percent agree with your opinions, but I completely respect them. Wouldn't it be better to stop feeling trans by medication, not transitioning with medication? If that was a choice? Isn't that why progressives can't accept this explanation?
Depends on who you ask. Some people would go for it. Others would see it as fundamentally changing who they are, like killing themselves and being replaced with someone else with the same memories. From a progressive standpoint, what you just proposed is basically genocide and conversion therapy rolled into one. Plenty of attempts to make such a medication have been cut short as a result.
@@scienceface8884 So that means our viewpoints are fundamentally incompatible. What the progressives propose is mass delusion of both the people and others around them. Unlike Dev was trying to say, "just talk to a trans person".
In your example about a feminine man getting backlash for appearing gay, I still do think it's homophobia. Not because of any intersectionality but because like, the people involved are still homophobic and harassing someone who they think is gay. Sure maybe it isn't a homophobic act but they are still homophobic.
Your equation for bigotry is very lacking. By your logic, if two dudes set out to kill a gay person because they hate gay people, it is somehow not homophobic if the guy they kill happens not to be gay but just looks gay. Bigotry is based on the offenders intent and perspective, not the end result. Also keep in mind that making fun of a guy for looking gay requires prejudice against gay people in the first place. Otherwise why would they even think to make fun of the person.
Progressivism is a train with no breaks. Either stay in and be on the "right side of history," or get out and be labelled a "reactionary, fascist," and so on.
3:37 Has anyone not told him straight up that he's done to himself an extreme case of yellow face? Or even mocked him by comparing him to Mickey Rooney's character Mr. Yunioshi, from the film, Breakfast at Tiffany's?
Ive asked progs if I can identify out of being trans. Seeing as the label "trans" can be applied to anyone that wants to identify that way, ive often asked if I, someone who is a binary transwoman with gender dysphoria, can decide not to be trans at all. I dont usually get an answer. When i do, its them agreeing that I can be not trans is i dont identify that way. Which usually brings be back to the question, "what is the point of labelling yourself as trans?"
It just proves what we've been saying all along, your definitions have to have some kind of grounding in reality, otherwise there's no framework for you to establish boundaries, and thus anyone's use of your terminology has to be accepted because within the extremely loose framework you've concocted it still fits the narrative. And yes watching Hasan trying to backpedal on this shit was absolutely glorious. Watching every leftist reach their point of "okay this makes no sense" and realize the runaway train they hitched themselves to isn't stopping is truly hysterical.
This is an honest question: If I'm 6'4" and believe myself to be Napoleon, is that an immutable characteristic and would you support cutting off my legs and installing me as Emperor of France?
This is what you get when let crazy shit go too far. Idiots gave them an umbrella, a shield to hide behind and now anything goes. And they teach this shit to kids...
So what's the definition of transphobia then? Is it just bigotry of transgenderism or is it bigotry of any person transitioning from one personal characteristc to another? If the latter... I got news for Hasan and others like him.
I went to Google to see how old the attack helicopter joke is, and I come across this: ""I Sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter" is a military science fiction short story by Isabel Fall, published on 9 January 2020 in Clarkesworld Magazine. The story relates the experience of Barb, a woman whose gender has been reassigned to "attack helicopter" so as to make her a better pilot. It is a finalist for the 2021 Hugo Award, under the title "Helicopter Story"." What the fresh hell?
I think I miss heard at some point, but it makes for a new term that is pretty applicable. Transtrender - changing ones self drastically because of modern trends.
Old term. Anyone who wants the victimhood status, special treatment and consideration for being trans, but not actually experienced dysphoria and with no intention of transitioning. See: all nonbinary people
All humans have different standards for different things. Humans kill some living species as a sport, create an entire field of science dedicated to killing other species and then protect other species by law. I'm for instance pro-animal rights, but I'm not protecting the bacteria that spreads the bubonic plague. Am I a hypocrite with double standards? Then you're a hypocrite for not eating your cat as you would a cow.
SFO you always help me to see the one or two things that I feel are missing from the equation. It's not that these progressives don't have any standards. That's just what a liberal sees because immutable characteristics only makes sense, but the progressives not valuing that fixes the problem I was having understanding their perspective. Thank you.
I disagree. If someone assumes that another is gay and derides them for it then they are being bigoted towards gay people. Doesn't matter whether they were correct in their assumption. Their target for derision is the perceived quality of gayness, not the individual person. Without that quality, they wouldn't have a reason to deride that person over any other.
Ive been trying to figure something similar in my life lately about this. Being “goth” has changed how people in public treat me, with a few people actually being vocal and calling me names and other similar issues. Being goth, to me and a large majority of those in the subculture, don’t “identify” as it, as being into macabre things and dressing spooky and listening to the music is just how we are, not optional things to us, it’s who we are. Would being turned away from say, the louvre for dressing how we do be bigotry or just people being dicks? If people call people like me names and sometimes elevate things to physical harm, is that bigotry or people being dicks? Would love to hear others opinions on this 🖤
Deception, either partial or full, will never bring them happiness. The treatment is not transitioning, the treatment is a change in mindset and repair of brain chemistry to get back in line with reality.
This is the danger on their insistence that race is a social construct. If that's true, then people could theoretically alter their appearance to appear as a race and fall within that category. If they argue it's not a social construct, then they may be confronted with biological differences arguments which ofc they do not want.
7:22 Some commented: "white people want culture so bad, *laughing face* " This comment reeks idiocy. Either it implies nations which are predominantly white don't have culture(ah yes because BRI'ISH culture sure doesn't exist, or FR*NCH culture etc) or it implies white Culture(as in implying racial culture)doesn't exist, but black and asian(aka racial culture) culture does. The second one doesn't make sense since predominantly black/brown nations all have differing culture, same goes to Asian countries. Do Progressives really thinks India has a lot in common with China? Or China with Japan? Or Japan with some island nation nearby?
But.. immutability is irrelevant. It doesn't matter if being gay is inherited, or if it is chosen. How someone chooses to live their life, or present themselves, as long as it isn't harming anyone else, is their own business. Attacking someone because they are black, and attacking someone because they claim to be an attack helicopter, are equally reprehensible crimes (y'know, unless he shot a missile at you or something). Being attacked for being gay, whether you are gay or not, is still the same attack. Its still 'homophobic' from the POV of the attacker. Its still 'homophobic' from the POV of society. That the individual involved may think differently about it doesn't change why it happened, and doesn't change the scars from the broken bottle. Claiming to be 1/16 black to gain some kind of advantage? That only works because we're in a system that preferences such claims. In a truly liberal system, no one's race would confer such advantages, so it wouldn't be 'bigotry' to make the claim, true or false. The claim is only 'bigotry' because its couched in an already bigoted system. What people choose to do with their bodies is their choice, whether its trying to emulate another gender or race, make yourself look like a lizard, have a camera implanted in your skull, whatever.
For the leftists who now complain about this. You made this happen, you made contributions that lead up to this. You made your bed, now lie in it.

I disagree with your take on bigotry. I do not think you need any immutable characteristic for bigotry, nor do I think one need to actually belong an specific group to experience bigotry, because bigotry is based on perpetrators state of mind.
Merriar-Webster defines "bigot" as:
a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices
especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (such as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance
It is noticeably that in modern day west most common form of bigotry might be toward groups with immutable characteristic (like sexuality and ethnicity).

If gender dysforia is not present in an individual, doesn't that make it a choice for that person?
Honestly thw weirdest part is that Ollie is using the surgeries to resemble A BTS member.
or that he literally identifies as Jimin. Does that mean I can identify as Dave Grohl?
@@NedJeffery going to identify as joe biden and assume the us presidential office real quick brb lads
"You can't be a closeted black man"
*[Laughs in 24/7 morph suit]*
To me, that is better than agreeing blindly. Blind agreement is similar to how dictatorships are ran, that's never a good thing.

"Here's what it's like to be White, but don't act like you know what it's like to be an actual POC"
I don't really understand the difference between transgenderism and transracialism. The argument for and against both are almost exactly the same.
I was expecting to see this vid, once the topic got big enough, interested to see how you word this through.
8:34 ....
These are the kind of people who don't think before they present their actual opinion...

"I think im a girl and i cant stop" is a pretty great quote
Your equation for bigotry is very lacking. By your logic, if two dudes set out to kill a gay person because they hate gay people, it is somehow not homophobic if the guy they kill happens not to be gay but just looks gay. Bigotry is based on the offenders intent and perspective, not the end result. Also keep in mind that making fun of a guy for looking gay requires prejudice against gay people in the first place. Otherwise why would they even think to make fun of the person.
i'm a little surprised no one ever brings up Michael Jackson on this topic
or Beyonce aka the female Michael Jackson !
The last couple weeks has made me very proud to be who I am.
Progressivism is a train with no breaks. Either stay in and be on the "right side of history," or get out and be labelled a "reactionary, fascist," and so on.
The idea that you can change the fabric of reality just by "identifying" is so arrogant i don't even know where to begin
We all know they're going to keep doubling down. They won't care just how close they are to collapsing over it
It’s just so damn beautiful, I hope they keep pushing the envelope. Now I’m waiting for someone to actually become an attack helicopter.
3:37 Has anyone not told him straight up that he's done to himself an extreme case of yellow face?
Or even mocked him by comparing him to Mickey Rooney's character Mr. Yunioshi, from the film, Breakfast at Tiffany's?
4:14 got a belly laugh out of me. Shaun King as an example of transracialism is gold.
It's also 100% true. The man doesn't have a single black gene in his body.
I've still got my Facebook gender as "Semi Demi Bun Attack Helicopter" back when they let you enter ANYTHING
This is an honest question: If I'm 6'4" and believe myself to be Napoleon, is that an immutable characteristic and would you support cutting off my legs and installing me as Emperor of France?
I, for one, would absolutely follow your request. Lol.
Can't we all just identify as good people?
This is what you get when let crazy shit go too far.
Idiots gave them an umbrella, a shield to hide behind and now anything goes.
And they teach this shit to kids...
I'm really beginning to understand the "Fuck it, I just wanna fucking grill" people.
This shit is exhausting.
So what's the definition of transphobia then?
Is it just bigotry of transgenderism or is it bigotry of any person transitioning from one personal characteristc to another?
If the latter... I got news for Hasan and others like him.
The points Lilith brings up makes me respect her even more. She's so based.
I went to Google to see how old the attack helicopter joke is, and I come across this:
""I Sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter" is a military science fiction short story by Isabel Fall, published on 9 January 2020 in Clarkesworld Magazine. The story relates the experience of Barb, a woman whose gender has been reassigned to "attack helicopter" so as to make her a better pilot. It is a finalist for the 2021 Hugo Award, under the title "Helicopter Story"."
What the fresh hell?
Hahahaha. And if everything is valid….
Nothing will be.
See: all nonbinary people
Welcome to intersectionality, where the standards are applied unevenly and the rules don't matter.
I still don't know the difference between liking a culture and culture appropriation.
Would love to hear others opinions on this 🖤
honestly i wouldnt really call it bigotry, jut people being idiotic jerks
Deception, either partial or full, will never bring them happiness. The treatment is not transitioning, the treatment is a change in mindset and repair of brain chemistry to get back in line with reality.
Sometimes there's two notes in the background music that instantly make my mind play a Linkin Park song lol
This is the danger on their insistence that race is a social construct. If that's true, then people could theoretically alter their appearance to appear as a race and fall within that category. If they argue it's not a social construct, then they may be confronted with biological differences arguments which ofc they do not want.

Some commented: "white people want culture so bad, *laughing face* "
This comment reeks idiocy.
Being a republican isn't an 'immutable characteristic', but there is plenty of anti-right wing bigotry going on in the west right now. Being an atheist isn't an 'immutable characteristic', but that won't stop a muslim throwing you off the roof of a building in Bangladesh. This is still legitimate bigotry.
Finnish americans were considered asian until the early 20th century there are finnish people who have asian features but most finns me included just look like White europeans.
I gotta be honest, this video made my brain hurt. I don’t have enough intelligent points to comprehend this discussion.
Transracial is just as valid as transgender
You can be transgender without having gender disphoria? What?
