- Tongue relaxation is really important for achieving ease in singing. The tongue, as a powerful muscle, plays a crucial role in vocal production. When the tongue is tense or constricted, it impacts the quality and control of the voice. If we learn to relax our tongue we enhance our vocal abilities right away. :)
When your tongue is relaxed, you will gain:
- improved resonance
- clearer articulation
- greater vocal range
- effortless singing
- better vocal health

It's always amazing to me how small exercises like this can make such a dramatic difference almost immediately. Before I watched your video, I tried singing the first verse, pre-chorus, and chorus of a song I wrote a few months ago. It sounded okay but I could tell I was struggling a little on the higher notes. After doing these tongue exercises with your video, I sang the same parts again and not only did I not struggle on the higher notes, they actually felt stronger and sounded better. Thanks! It's always nice to stumble across a vocal coach online that explains things in a way that works with my brain (many don't) and who provides exercises that are simple and effective. I'll definitely be checking out more of your vids!
Wow John, thank you for your comment. I am so happy that the exercises help :)) And yes, it is so true, the most important thing for a good singing & authentic expression is relaxed body. That is why tongue exercises help so much. If you have any other questions, please let me know. I wish you all the best on your singing and songwriting path :)) N
I have A LOT of tongue tension according to the last exercise. Thank you for all of this. 🙂
We all have lot of tongue tension :)) But with awareness of it and tongue exercises it can slowly become more relaxed & then singing becomes easier. Also our tongues are different, so if you feel that one exercise is not good for you, you don't need to struggle with it. Find some that you will feel that is beneficial for you. :) If you have any other question, please let me know :)
Excellent thx ❤
Thank you!
Fantastic❤
Wow. I don't know how to tell you how insightful this video is. I suddenly can sing with ease and more enjoy. PLEASE KEEP MAKING VIDEOS!!
When I made it. I'll give you a much deserved appreciation. GL!!
Thank you for your message. Means a lot to me. So happy it helped you to sing easier. :)) Sure I will make more videos - I plan to put at least one video a week :) Do you have any other singing questions? :)
Thank you sooooo much. A bout of covid in 2020 damaged my voice which was soprano and now tends to deepen like a man's voice.
It takes a long time to loosen up to even sound a little more feminine but your exercise quickened that process.
I am very happy to hear this, Kelly :) What happened to your voice, did you get your vocal cords checked? If you have any other question, please let me know. 😃
Thank you. I really felt relaxed after I tried out the exercise
That sound great. Thank you for sharing :)
Thank you very much, very helpful!
Thank you;))
Very nice exercises for the tongue. :)
Happy you liked it :))
Amazing 🤩 I have a big problem with my tongue. My tongue should workout little bit 😂
Happy that this was useful for you 😍 I will record more tongue exercises soon 😃
I have a very weak tongue control, I can't naturally move the tip of my tongue down or roll it in any way. I can only move the tip of tongue up. I didn't know that was suppose to be the natural restilng position for my tongue as well until today from another youtube video. What you suggest for me to do to gain control the tip of my tongue to move in different positions?
Hi :) Thank you for your question. We all have different tongues and it is nothing wrong if you can not do some movements with your tongue. It also depends on the size and position of our lingual frenulum. Sometimes that also stops the movement. But even if some movements are not as possible as others, it is great to train it. With exercises and massage you can relax the root of the tongue and train the tip of the tongue to become more moving. I will do a video with some tongue tip exercises soon :)) If you have any other questions, please let me know. Best, Natasa
Interesting. I have no problem doing lip trills but the moment I include vowels I start to feel strain. Maybe this will fix it. I’ll try it out thx!
Yes, try it out. In my opinion tongue tension is one of the main reasons for staining in singing. The other one is jaw tension. Planning to record a video about that soon. :))
How do I say this. Let see, your video's awesome!!
Thank you. Means a lot to me!! :)
Hello Thanks for the awarness of the tongue I am wondering if you have an exercise for clearing phlegm from vocal cords. I use an inhalor for asthma, and my vocal cords get covered with the powder. Thanks lu

Hi Marie, I am planing to record a video about airflow soon :)) Do you have any other questions? :)
Even though I try the ‘ah ah ah ah ah ‘ exercise going up,
I get choked by my tongue and everything stops. Am I pushing too much air? It seems to be the Bain of my singing experience. Thank you.😊
Hi Dayne, did you ever try to sing with your tongue out? 😊
@@natasanahtigal24 Hi Natasa! I will try to hold my tongue out with the ah ah ah exercise and see if I can maintain a steady airflow. Thanks for responding! I think your videos are helpful.!
