  • #215. A Resin NEW Resin Art JOURNEY Into The UNKOWN! A Video by Daniel Cooper
Hi all, we are back with a new look! My New Resin Art Studio!
This is what I have been working on so very hard over the past couple of months, it may not be much to some, but this is a huge step for the channel and for my Resin Art journey.
This new setup will allow me to create more and better quality Resin Art content without the worry of noise and interruptions, my previous set-up was a mess and embarrassment, I had no room for storage or ability to be on camera due to the mess and size of my workspace!
As mentioned, we will work together on the setup, especially the lighting as I know the ring light was a huge issue in this video, I do have some studio lights on order which I will test in the next video.
I'm looking forward to this new venture and creating some new Resin Art experiments and techniques and maybe some much bigger projects 😍.
Please do NOT experiment with products which may be dangerous if mixed with resin!

Great work! Thanks to you I started making Galaxy pendants with cat eye nail polish as well. I'm learning and combining your techniques. I'm still a noob, but improving.
I like to make the swirl with the brush of the nail polish and manipulate the surface with a dotting tool while curing (for more depth). Black mica background of course. It's a pleasure to learn so much from you. Thanks a lot. 😊

I am so thrilled for you! My daughter has severe anxiety and depression. As you know, it is something we work on everyday. I always tell her, everything happens for a reason. You have your new studio because you deserve it for helping so many of us. You will get everything working and set up exactly the way you want it; just the way you always get your resin pieces to work. As for us, we love all of your videos! 😍

That ring light is definitely in the wrong place, when you show the cured pieces, the light shines a ring right in the middle of each piece. Apart from that I love your new place! I’ve been watching you from the first ‘dodgy shaking hands ‘ 😂 bless you…… wishing you all the luck in the world for your new studio. ❤️

So happy for you to have such a nice dedicated art studio❣️ If I may offer one suggestion for your desk surface, it would be to add some puppy piddle pads first, then put a work mat down. The reason for the pads is because they will catch liquids and not let them run onto your wood nor onto the floor. I too work on a nice wooden desk surface, and these pads has kept me from staining it with alcohol inks, they also have caught my overfilling of resin. Hope this helps! ❤

Most days I've told myself I can't do something, and have then stopped myself from even trying because my anxiety and lack of confidence and self worth really affects me in the most basic of tasks. @@debbrady497Hey Deb. I TOTALLY relate to this. I have treated my business to a lot of new Moulds for new lines and have a stack of projects and even a weekly plan but it comes to starting and I've had things set up on my desk for 8 days and now on 4th day in bed in agony from fibro and mentally drained by how much I can't handle any form of pressure - especially when it is from myself 😱 argh! Be well and take hugs where you can 🤗 👌 x

@@debbrady497 I took up bead-weaving when I became almost bed-bound by a disability, and sometimes felt overwhelmed before starting a new project. What I discovered work for me was, literally getting my beads out and just looking at them--all the different sizes, shapes and beautiful colors, as well as cabochons and/or fancy stones--served to calm me down and energize me to get down to it! I confess that after becoming a beader, I would sometimes get the prettiest ones I have (my collection of natural garnet beads) and just pet them, LOL. Yeah, I know, I'm obsessed, LOL.

Totally get what you're saying about the echo in the rooms. In addition to rugs on the floor, don't forget curtains on your windows. Sound waves will bounce off of glass panes just as they bounce off of hard floors. Maybe a tapestry-type wall hanging or two can also help with that, and I think even all those things together would still be less expensive than sound-damping foam, the professional ones anyway. I know for myself, that the echo itself contributes to a sense of being unsettled--hard to get used to a new place while that echo remains. You can do this!

Congratulations on your wonderful new shop. It isn't necessarily a bad thing that you don't have all the things you are wishing for at the onset, such as the kitchen island you mentioned. As you become acquainted with your space, your ideas may change. You may find a different way of organizing your supplies and work area.
As for that kitchen island, you might try advertising for someone that is remodeling their kitchen and have base cabinets in good condition but very cheap. They would have drawers and cabinet space underneath. Just add a new top to suit your needs. You may even be able to get some matching wall cabinets if needed.
Depression is like having a stalker that has moved into your home, hiding beneath the bed, your closet, or behind an open door. It follows you to work, on walks, and shows up on outings with friends. You can never quite get your hands on the bastard to throw it out, but it's there, looking over your shoulder with a critical eye at everything you do, constantly mocking every attempt you make to rid yourself of this hidden menace.
I can remember when I wasn't like this. I miss Me very much.

Congratulations on your new studio space! You can't hear an echo on the video, but the ring light while nice and bright leaves strong ring reflections on the resin making it difficult to see your awesome work. One possible solution is to diffuse the light with a thin white cloth in between the ring light and your work space. Maybe put it on a frame and mount it in place with possibly more than one ring light to reduce shadows? Good luck. I am looking forward to all the new video's to come.❤
Maybe use reflected light from the cloth frame?

I think you’ll find that once you get everything the way you want it (for the most part) and you’ve settled in comfortably, your artistic and creative mind will open up like a floodgate. I think once you get settled in the nerves and anxiety will lessen and you will feel right where you belong..😘😘. Maybe some silicone mats on your work surface to collect overflow/spills of resin. Also. I clean mine with a lint roller rather than a single piece of tape. Not sure if they sell them there but here in the U.S. we can get them very cheap at the dollar stores and the refills as well. If you can’t find them I would be more than happy to send you some..😊 keep up the amazing work, enjoy your new space and remember, just breathe…also. You can't make everyone happy, so don't stress yourself out. That said, I love the new lighting and the sound is much better in my opinion. If you are able to at some point, take your pieces to another room or outside for more direct sunlight to show them off better without the ring shining on them when you finish. It's just what i have seen some other people do to help show off their work, but not something you have to do. It does not sound like you are bragging in any way. You worked hard for what you've got and deserve every bit of it. You are one of the most original, creative people i have found on youtube. I always look forward to new videos from you. Congratulations on the new shop! Keep up the amazing work, but don't let it become a burden in your real life! Oh and i think it's awesome that you will show more of yourself in upcoming videos!

I love the new set up, Daniel. No fuss, no muss, no disturbances. As for the ring-light, maybe you could change the angle, or something. You seem to have everything you need in that kitchen, maybe Ikea, or somewhere like that for the island? You could check your local pound shops or charity shops for a rug, maybe? Best of luck, and thanks for another great video.

Ring light is great except for the reflection on your pieces of resin but I could live with that, the other light does not look bright enough BUT you did start off with the ring light and our eyes were used to it's brightness, so maybe next time start off with the other light and we will have a better idea about it.

Yay! LOVE the new studio for you, I think a dedicated space will help you enjoy your craft even more.
A few different suggestions... for echoing (though I didn't notice any) you could try hanging towels on your walls that are not in camera view. Ordinary bath towels will do wonders. You could get fancy and do them up on frames, but that's not needed except to your personal taste.
For lighting... the bright light is nice, but the ring is a bit distracting. Not world-ending, and certainly not enough to make me stop watching, no worries! Maybe try using really bright uplights on your walls to make the entire area bright?
For the design itself... maybe try mixing the nail polish with a bit of resin (50/50?) before adding it to the resin in the mold, to make it 'flow' better? You could try a few drops of the thinned-out polish, swirl that up, then a couple drops of full-strength polish and a little more swirl... it should give a nice swirl mixed into a more diffuse swirl... could look cool!
    Keep up the great work!

So to the dining room where I have a tile floor I have gone… if I can start making some money, I’ll be able to build a little crafting room in the back garden out of one of those ready made sheds that I can put an ac unit and a heating unit in it as well… I would like to make it solar powered as well…. Daniel, I'm thrilled you have a studio for yourself!! 👍😊 *Woo-HOO!* Bet Mrs. Cooper is thrilled to have her house back! 😅
Personally, I hate ring lights, _BUT_ I know zero about lighting, cameras, videoing...LESS than nothing, in fact. I hope someone here does, so they can advise on Best Studio Stuff To Use!
Thing is, Daniel, I *don't care* about lighting (unless I can't see anything!), nor care I for a bit of echoing (unless I can't hear what you're saying!), so...I'm not picky! All I want is to watch you do your magic. That's it. 😊

Congratulations on your new work space! It won't be long and you will have all that space filled up. The more space we have the more we find to fill it. [Speaking from experience !] I look forward to seeing all the cool stuff you will come up with, since I have probably seen almost all of the ones you have done to date.

That’s amazing. Lol that’s why I remove sound from my videos. My littles are always screaming. Can’t even do ASMR 😂

I enjoy watching these videos. I am not able to work with the residence because of my epilepsy, and my medication‘s. But I really do enjoy watching these videos all of them.

I've not been watching for too long, but I'm thrilled at the new studio! I moved into my own out-of-house studio this summer, and it's absolutely fantastic- congratulations! 🎉
