Because it's a top notch channel, and they threw this new guy in here, which is not why we subscribed. We subbed to watch James go nuts on these cars. Not some kid trying to act like James. There's a reason this kids videos only average 300-500k vs 1.1-1.5 mil. Donut is losing revenue with this guy.

This civic was what got me into imports, I remember seeing it in person years ago at Hot import nights and seeing it still exist gives me nostalgic feelings and a big smile on my face.
just imagine how sought after this car was in the early 2000's, how many teenagers would have given anything to have it as a first car, and then..... it sits in a warehouse literally collecting dust for decades. It's just crazy to think about.
Well, speak for yourself. I will very proud of having one of these because it was representative for a decade, not because is good looking for current standards. That's why many people love boxy and unappealing old cars, because of what represents not to be a "look at me b*tchs I'm so cool and social trending with the brand new model".

This car was SuperStreets Civic Si contest build car between ( I believe) 4 different car magazines. Each magazine was given a new Civic Si and a budget to build their car. I believe Sport Compact Car Magazine won the Competition and was the cleanest looking car using a fully built Naturally Aspirated JUN engine, where all of the other magazines resorted to forced induction.
I honestly like it. Classic early 2000s tuner when they were kinda flashy but also kinda fast too. It remembers me the gold age of Fast and Furious or NFS underground. Pure nostalgia

I remember this car, Loved it then and love it now, I was driving a 1995 civic 2 door teal green lowered with Neuspeed springs and tokiko shocks on 17s front and rear and lower rear strut and tie bars with neuspeed anti sway bars, $600 worth of stainless steel exhaust with a DC sports header and dc sports intake, never went any further with it as at 18 when I bought the car it was everything I could do to make the payments and INS. payments, Bought my civic in 99

All the super street magazines I read when I was a kid had this exact car. Good times
I still have the 1/64 scale. And it’s still my favorite. I was so excited when I saw it and my mom got it for me, because a classmate in 6th grade had the larger one. (In green.) I’m turning 31 this week. And it’s still significant to me. Thanks Bruce👍🏻 I must have missed the magazine articles on it back then. Because I didn’t even know it was a real car. And built by SuperStreet until just now.

Oh crap really!? Damn! I used to read them a lot while I was in high school as well! Man I'm just going threw my old car magazines and just remembering how awesome those builds were! I love the fact how people were so innovative, unique, and creative with their car modifications. It was mostly on Honda's if I remember correctly. I too had a 93 Civic coupe back in 2002 I believe. My dad bought it for me for my birthday in like Sophomore year I believe. It was white, shaved doors handels, 17 inch Tenzo R Shu 4 Gun metal Wheels, grill craft grill on the front bumper and headers and Cat back exhaust. I believe it was lowered but I can't remember.
This brings back memories of my 2000 Civic Si (in Blue) with minor mods to it. I still think it has a great look to it. One of my favorite Civic body styles.

I hadn’t heard of this car until watching this video, but it really strikes a chord with me. As ridiculous as this kind of car can be I think they have a lot of charm. But what really makes this Civic special to me is that it looks like one of my favorite Hotwheels from when I was a kid, a Ferrari F355 Challenge. Both of them are red cars with white flames running across the sides. Interesting little tidbit: as a kid I didn’t know about pop-up headlights, so I though that the F355 had traditional headlights that just weren’t painted on in my model.

The OG tuner guys didn't roll around in brand new WRXs. The cars they fixed up were hand me down Civics and Integras from their parents because they couldn't afford anything else.
