Even though he's brutal he's also helpful. Which is actually amazing and makes him the best person to come to for a spectating 99% of the time. Sometimes I honestly wish he was more harsh! But I don't think it's in his nature.
a lore accurate dva would say her only mistake was even taking a team in the first place to put them in danger- like the video, she'd want to take on a 1v5 by herself, but unlike this tank, she would never blame her team if she failed
i'm assuming some of the ego from the person who submitted this is the mentality that "ive made it to a higher rank than any of these people will so even though I'm on an off-role i'm still better" which isn't really a good mentality to have. the more time you focus on your teammates mistakes, or hero picks you don't like, the less time you recognize your own mistakes that could be corrected and result in actual improvement
The thing that really gets me about the Mercy complaint is that the tank’s over-aggression is a big part of why she keeps dying. Like, yes, Mercy’s making errors too, but the tank’s gameplay is making her decisions more difficult, so it’s natural to make more mistakes. Mercy has to be within 15m to heal, so she is having to use her movement a lot because the team is so spread out. Also, the DVa is demanding so much healing that the supports are falling behind all around, and that can force worse positioning/movement use while they’re trying to heal the other teammates too, because they aren’t able to spend sufficient attention tracking what’s going on with everyone else. You’re supposed to be putting the _enemies_ under pressure and creating opportunities for _them_ to make mistakes, not your own teammates.
I feel like support players turned tanks often make the same mistake. They are so tired of their tanks being passive that they decide to do the opposite and end up becoming hyper aggressive. They become tunnel visioned and jump in 1v4 or 1v5, ESPECIALLY when they're half HP. Ive never understood this because as a support player, you see your tank 1v5 and you sigh. You know they're dead. As a tank you gotta make plays, but you also need to pull back, stop and relax and let your support heal you. Overall I think this Dva did well and Im pretty sure Emongg thinks so too :) but there is ALWAYS room to improve!
Kind of hard to believe DVA is GM in any role, much less support. Making it easy on your supports and pealing back for them should be in the front of your mind. emongg mentions it a little bit at 14:45
@@Tee_Bisn’t diamond above average tho? My bf is diamond and he could go way higher if he played more comp, my guy always gets potg and he’s just mechanically way above average

These videos definitely help lol. I’ve been playing games where I get roasted for playing D.Va badly. It’s wild because I feel like I actually do pretty decently most of the time😭 18:53😂
It's crazy that they can die (more than once!), lose the point, and not get constant kills, then say you made NO mistakes. No mistakes would be a literally perfect game, or am I missing something?
“It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not weakness, that is life.” - Jean Luc Picard It's a team based game. In theory you could do everything perfectly and still die a decent bit and lose. In reality though, this game is so complex with such a high skill ceiling, I doubt anyone has ever played a perfect game.
15:00 Sometimes that information isn’t learned it’s ingrained. There are things you understand instinctively and by muscle memory but you couldn’t quite explain why it’s that way.
A big factor of how games are goes into not just the supports healing the tank, but also the pressure onto the enemies My stats can be identical to the enemy tank but with a lot more mitigation and still feel like im just never getting healed. I then see their dps are doing more damage and their supports are doing a mix of both while mine are just healing
Loved this video. Glad they baited with the no mistakes thing because that was pretty solid DVA play with some higher level, more picky, game sense type feedback than most vids.
13:50 ish. Missed opportunity to ult when mercy used fly to get back to a wide open Ana after using rez. Might have been able to get both healers. At least Ana without the rez available. Recognize ults don’t have to be going for a team kill every time. One kill can make the difference in that team fight.
The Dva is clearly good at the game, even for Diamond they'll probably climb out soon. It's pretty obvious they'll make mistakes especially when emongg a former t500 reviews the vod. I'm just glad he wasn't toxic and nitpicky like most creators would have been.
Guys a good player didn’t have a bad game by any means but thought their ults were weak placements mostly and to think no mistakes, if you sent this to someone like spilo would probably have 30-40+ mistakes on here
That mercy had some really questionable decision throughout the game You'd expect one tricks to be familiar w their hero and not make bad movement mistakes like that but here we are
