When I was considering a Fender FR I read a lot about the hiss issue. My understanding was it was an issue with the initial release & was supposedly fixed on subsequent runs. I also read of folks that got them that hissed, exchanged them for another & got one that didn't hiss. I got mine & it's dead silent with the pod go. Maybe you should try an exchange? I think you're spot on about the onboard tone controls. I can dial in the room easily on a gig. Hope it does the job for you.
in other vids I have picked up the Info that the first series of these had a hiss issue. I think it should be fixed in the more recent ones and I believe also that Fender offers a bugfix for the hiss for the older series which can be done at the dealerships. I'm telling this from my memory so details might be wrong but I think it may be worth looking up online info on that. I have the same spkr coming. Will let you know if there is a hiss issue. But it will take some more days. The dealerships are having a bit of a lead time at the moment on these Fender FRs.
Told Ya....ehh.....Sounds great
That EQ cut did make the difference....much less shrill ....that 10 in the fender sounds bigger than I expected. Nice 👍🏻 job
Thanks!

I hope this speaker will do the trick :)
Thanks Josh-sounds good brother.
Thanks!
Sounds great....try setting cut around 11oclock..that sounds good to me on my fr12
Cutting for me will depend on which guitar I'm using...single-coil vs humbuckers :)

..I am planning to use mine together with Strymon Iridium / UA Enigmatic (Dumble+Cab Sim) / UA Lion (Plexi+Cab Sim).
I've found that tweeking my patch's through my FR12 with cut around 11oclock makes them sound better..
Awesome!
My FR12 doesn't hiss
Must say the hiss is disappointing
