Thank you for doing this tribute to Pam Young. I wish I could have thanked her for help and humor. But it’s not too late to thank YOU, dear Flylady. My daughter found you in 2006 and hooked me up shortly after. Thanks from the bottom of my tallest pile of clutter for helping me realize what my real challenges were. Your patient loving ways finally saved me from my stuff…the clutter on the tables, the laundry on the couch and the stinkin think in my head. Bless your big heart, Marla.
I found Pam & Peggy in 1984 at the age of 22 while pregnant (and overwhelmed) with my 3rd child. The were on a TV show called, “The Great American Homemaker” hosted by Vicky Lawrence. The first segment I saw them in, I ran out and bought their first book. I am a SHE to this day but you’d never know it. I followed their system and found my way out of the well I had dug. I had the pleasure of speaking with the sisters on multiple occasions and will hold those memories in my heart. I will miss Pam…..I feel I’ve lost a close friend. My prayers go to her family as they walk through this difficult time. Thank you Marla for talking about her impact on your life. Love and Hugs, Christina
I started with the Slob Sisters way back in the day, in the days when we used 3x5 cards. It made a huge difference in my life and I later followed Flylady. I owe so much to Pam. Thank you for this tribute.
Pam Young was one of a kind! She changed my life...gave me courage to live my life to the fullest. I read From Pam...in back of Sidetracked Home Executives. I had laughed all the way through the book & then I came to From Pam. I cried my eyes out. I could truly relate to her story. It was my story too. I must have read From Pam over 100 times. It gave me the courage & strength to change my life. Thank you, Dear Pam. FLY WITH THE ANGELS IN HEAVEN! You will be missed by EVERYONE who knew & loved you! 💟✝️💟
Today is June 16, 2024, 47 years to the day that I’ve been following Pam and Peggy philosophy. I’ve corresponded with Pam who is a truly wonderful person. I miss her.
I started with Pam and Peggy’s first book , and have been successful on the card file system since the early ‘80s. I remember when they offered to pass on their work, and they started mentioning you. I appreciate what you have done, although I wish they could have gotten the amount of recognition that they deserved. Pam was a mentor, and I will miss her.
The loss of Pam saddens me so much! I found the first book, SHE: From Pigpen to Paradise at the library in 1996 and laughed with their stories and felt like I'd found two kindred spirits. I reread all of their books from time to time because they are so delightful. Like you, I found Happiness File to be life changing. I did find the card file to be occasionally overwhelming, but it was the only system that gave me any sense of order. When I found you and your modification of babysteps and routines to the SHE system, it was exactly the tweak that ended up making it all come together. But I wouldn't have gotten here without Pam and Peggy showing me that I wasn't alone and that I could find humor as I moved forward. Deepest sympathy to Pam's family as we, as a community, also mourn the loss of this delightful lady who touched so many hearts and lives,
I'm thankful that you took hold of that torch. I am finding my way back to Jesus and you are helping me so much with your wisdom. So thank YOU! gillian
I followed Pam and Peggy so many years ago. They were truly an inspiration to me when my children were young. I have followed you for years too. Thank you for being a blessing for us.
I know this sounds silly, but I’ve been needing to make up my bed for a long time. Every day I tell myself I’m going to make it up and then I don’t. I’m making it up as I watch this video in honor of Pam. I will think of her today. I’m thankful for people like Pam and Marla, who have helped me and so many others. 💕
I am sorry for your loss. It's always sad to lose a friend and mentor and Pam sounds like a very special person. I read their books many years ago and I even used their card system for awhile. She has left quite a legacy. May she rest in peace.
I am so sorry to hear about Pam's passing. I loved all of Pam and Peggy's books and tried to follow them. And I love that the baton has been passed to you, Marla, as I still am trying (after all these years I'm still just trying). You have - all three of you - been a positive force in my life!
Sorry to hear about Pam. I heard about them through your work and I still get great joy (and validation, and encouragement) from listening to their SHE audiobook.
Thank you so much for letting us know about Pam Young’s passing.💐💗 I have been with FlyLady since 2004. I enjoyed hearing Pam read her own books & my kids remember her as the House Fairy. Thank you for introducing her to us.
I started with the card file many years ago, and it helped me the way you help me now. I stayed in touch with Pam through her website for a while. She was a mentor to me, as was Peggy, and as you are now. Thank-you for this video celebrating her, and indirectly celebrating Peggy, too. I pray for Pam and Peggy’s family, and for you, Marla!
((Marla💕)). I was on your original Flylady list and you introduced me to SHE. The humor and grace you 3 ladies have shared with others is such a blessed legacy. Have no doubt what a difference you have made in one person’s life.
I loved Sidetracked Home Executives and their next book. I had three children (7, 6, and 3 years old), a husband and a 3,000 sq. ft. home and was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and was overwhelmed when I bought S.H.E.
The SHE boards got me started on my journey. I remember when you joined and got to meet you at the Cleveland conference. Not only did Pam set me on my journey, but the community was like none other. To this day, I make recipes from the likes of Homefire and others. Thank you for doing this, Marla.
I just now picked up " get your act together" I am actually reading It. I always get motivational books but never ever read past the first sentence. I wanted to find the sister's to thank them for this blessing yet I'm finding a happy sadness and don't quite no what's happening other than she or they you know are true Angels! Here and there! Lots and lots of Love and know that my heart mourns with yours. God bless and thank you thank you thank you so much for this book.
Thank you Marla. - Dad was trying to find you this week. It's been pretty hard, but this video warmed my heart. I can connect you with him... Pam's Bonus Daughter...... (we presented together in Dallas long ago...)
Thank you for this great tribute to Pam. I found their books in 1990. In 1991 I used their card system to make it through a family tragedy. So glad I was able to thank Pam for the help her books gave me to get through this time. RIP.
I saw them on a KGO talk show soon after they wrote their first book. My favorite story was about the day they came home from the zoo or something like that. The police were at one of their houses. The police explained how the house had been ransacked. They went in and saw no difference from how they had left it. Needless to say, they never told the police the truth. I had a huge number of 3x5 cards. The system overwhelmed me and I cheated big time. It took me years to toss out the cards. Now, thankfully, I just have a simple control journal. I'm sad today and holding back tears.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CARRYING ON THE TORCH OF PAM AND PEGGY. YOU BLESS US SO MUCH AND ARE SO MUCH OF A GODLY EXAMPLE FOR ME AND MY DD AND HUSBAND TOO. DEANNA ESERHUT
I have read most of Pam and Peggy's books and, although I have never met them in person, they have been like bonus sisters to me throughout the years. I re-purchased their books as special gifts to myself to celebrate my 70th birthday (the old ones were so worn out they were held together in plastic baggies). My love and prayers go out to each of their family members. I hope you know that Pam was very loved by so many thankful SHEs all around the world and I am so very grateful for all the excellent guidance and humour she brought into my life. I recently read that Peggy retired in 2002 due to health concerns. If it is appropriate, could you please let us know how Peggy is now? I would like her to know how very much she is loved and appreciated for all the wonderful stories she shared about her family's adventures in homemaking.

I still use my original 3 x 5 card file!
I cried when I read the news. I feel like I've lost a best friend, sister,. I'm stunned been with Pam since 81 or 82. I'm in shock and can't think.

Ashley, we are so proud of you. As Pam would say, You deserve to have a bed that's pretty all day and fresh when you go to bed.
Thanks for honoring her memory as well as carrying on the work she and Peggy started! You are a blessing for us!!!

Good Morning! I heard this morning about Pam.
Sorry for your loss Marla. I know what it feels like to lose a mentor. Hugs!
Amen, Marla❣️
Hello Flylady!
I also was a SHE, but I drove myself crazy with cards! Haha!
I remember the credit card funeral….. hilarious!
You have been with us a long time, Lesley. That video is still on UA-cam.
I requested book from my library! I’m so sorry for your loss. 🥲
