I’m very interested in using the vinyl accents. This looks fun to make and your instructions are very clear.👏🏻

Masking tape, which is easily peeled off, is sometimes useful to hold pieces of fabric together, or to keep pattern pieces in place. You can use it to mark wrong /right sides, and write on reminders such as "pocket goes this side", Left sleeve. right sleeve. But it all depends on the material. E❤

Kookaburra Quilts sells the pattern in South Australia too, in two different sizes but one is currently sold out - kookaburraquilts.com.au/products/stylish-sewing-caddy

@@ArabesqueScissorsI was just going to say that I got this pattern from my local quilt store and noticed that you’d mentioned it…Bellarine Sewing Centre! They stock other Zakka Workshop patterns, as well, along with frames etc that can be purchased separately, if you’d like to make a second item.

Isn't that style of bag called a Gladstone bag? Very popular item many years ago, often made in leather,, so it was very rigid, or a sort of heavy jacquard/ tapestry/thick fabric, and I believe called a carpet bag? Perhaps originally made from carpeting? And the equivalent of today's overnight bag/carry on case? I've never gone into the history and design of bags and luggage - it must be an interesting subject. ......... I recall the frame was flat and sturdier and hinged at the sides so the edges overlapped when closed. Fastened with a strap or (sliding) lock. I suspect leather bags would be made by hand - it's the same process as horse saddkers'' work. I had a gun cartridge bag years ago, all handmade. Present from a then boyfriend, it made an excellent shoulder or crossbody bag, loads of room inside, thick rigid leather so easy to rummage around in. (whilst I was a good shot with a rifle I never liked the regulated licensed "sport" of killing birds and other creatures - I think I was a disappointment to him.).. E❤

The reality is: if you're rich and famous, your luxrul bags are seen as a sign of success. If you are just an ordinary worker working a 9-to-5 job, your real bag is likely to be considered the fruit of your efforts.
