Think about Steve Bannon - he got a custodial sentence for defying a congressional subpoena, which was suspended until the conviction appeal was heard. He asked for a suspension until the appeal was heard - that judge said no and he had to go to jail a few days later. After a week or two inside (I think) he again asked for a suspension pending appeal and was denied again. It all depends on the judge.

@pagangamer87 I've been following the trial, and I'm still very confused. From what I got, it seems to be one of three things. The judge apparently had the jury choose which one they'll charge him with, they didn't have to agree on which one, but they'll count it as one felony.

A convicted felon can't join the military, but can be a President. The only things the Constitution says is You have to be 35 years old and be born in the United States. I know a couple of Americans online who support Trump and making claims about previous presidents is a common tactic.
Anytime you mention something bad Trump has done, they immediately respond with claims that other presidents have done similar things.
Now, I'm not American, have never been to America and have little interest in American history so I don't know if the claims are true or not. For the sake of argument, let's say they are true. That doesn't help the Trump supporters' case one iota.
They don't seem capable of grasping the concept that a bad act is always a bad act. It doesn't suddenly become good or acceptable just because someone else did it first.
